Acer accomplit le tour de force de lier un design élégant à des performances satisfaisantes, sans oublier de prêter attention aux émissions sonores et caloriques. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié le châssis élégant et le cadre fin de l'écran. Le fabricant joue aussi d'éléments métalliques et d'une bonne construction, et seul le clavier peut être sujet à une déformation malvenue. La course de ses touches est en outre plutôt courte, mais d'un autre côté elles possèdent un point de pression bien défini et se montrent plutôt silencieuses à la frappe.

L'écran IPS brillant de résolution Full HD parvient à des résultats corrects tant en luminosité qu'en contraste. La partie matérielle du Swift 5 est très équilibrée, avec un processeur qui atteint presque ses performances maximales sous charge de calcul élevée, ce dont la concurrence est loin de pouvoir se vanter. Les températures restent acceptables si l'on tient compte des performances offertes. Dernier aspect important pour un appareil de cette classe: l'autonomie de batterie. Le Swift 5 n'est certes pas aussi endurant que le Dell XPS 13, mais vous aurez tout de même droit à une journée de travail complète à l'écart de la moindre prise de courant.

Le nouvel Acer Swift 5 a presque toutes les qualités qu'on espère d'un subnotebook. Il est disponible à un prix d'appel qui nous semble juste, à 900 euros.

Nous vous recommandons de jeter aussi un regard sur le Dell XPS 13 9360 si vous êtes un utilisateur nomade. Il nous a convaincu par son écran mat et une très longue autonomie de batterie. Si vous cherchez encore plus fin et léger, le rival vendu par Asus à 1 500 euros pourra vous intéresser.
