Critique du Asus K53TA-SX026V (Fusion)

Frugal. Peu gourmand en énergie, pas de chaleur excessive, et une bonne autonomie. Avec ces avantages, c'est aussi un système dual-GPU et quad-core pour le processeur ça plaira aux joueurs. Est-ce le bon choix pour le joueur a budget sérré?

Après les résultats intéressants du système APU AMD Llano APU du Samsung Series 3 305V5A-S01DE, ce 15.6-pouces, le Asus K53TA-SX026V possède presque le même système. Est-ce que ce GPU Crossfire est aussi bon que celui du Samsung? Dans ce test vous saurez si ce portable à 500 Euro AMD Fusion vaut le coup.

Le boîtier du K53TA est aussi bon pour le bureau que pour une chambre d'ado. les surfaces intérieures sont solides; les motifs sur le repose poignet accrochent bien le regard sans être salissant.

Le boîtier donne une impression de grande qualité, sans problème de finition apparents. mais le dos de l'écran et le châssis sont un peu trop flexibles. par contre le repose poignet et le clavier restent bien fermes. 

Les charnières sont bien fermes; elle restent bien en place. L'angle d'ouverture maximum de 145 ° est largement suffisant pour travailler sur les genoux.

Le dessous du portable,est très facile à plier surtout au niveau du lecteur de DVD. Sous les deux panneaux de maintenance, on peut remplacer le disque dur, la RAM ou le module WiFi.

Connectivité

Le Asus K53TA-SX026V possède peu de ports. E-SATA et ExpressCard sont des luxes que le K53TA ne peut s'offrir - mais il n'en a pas besoin; ce portable possède par contre un port USB 3.0 donc pas de problème pour le futur.

Il n'y a que 3 ports USB en tout. Mais les deux ports à gauche sont placés trop proche l'un de l'autre. Les charnière empêchent les ports à l'arrière, donc on trouve les ports VGA et HDMI sur la gauche.

Réseau

Le module WiFi Atheros (AR9285) supporte le Draft-N. Mais pas de Bluetooth intégré. La carte Realtek Gigabit Ethernet est excellente.

Dispositifs d'entrées

Clavier

Le clavier est réussit, si on enlève les flèches un peu courtes. Le pavé numérique est assez classique. La frappe est profonde avec un bon retour. La frappe est bien ferme. Sauf au dessus du lecteur DVD qui est un peu souple.

Touchpad

Le large touchpad (10.4 cm de diamètre) se confond dans la surface du repose poignet. Mais avec sa texture différente on le trouve rapidement dans le noir. Le touchpad (Elan Smart Pad) est assez imprécis.

Avec l'option multi-touch il est possible de scroller ou de zoomer. Par contre, plus de barres de scroll, les boutons du touchpad donne un minimum de retour avec un gros clic très bruyant.

Ecran

Le Asus K53TA n'est pas terrible au niveau des dispositifs d'entrées. Et pareil pour l'écran. L'écran CMO brillant (type N156BGE-L2) possède une résolution 1,366 x 768. Avec une résolution WXGA, à 1,366 x 768 c'est presque du 16:9.

L'écran CMO possède un très faible contraste de 181:1. Si vous êtes graphiste passez votre chemin immédiatement, les couleurs et les contrastes sont bien trop faibles pour vos besoins. L'écran brillant n'arrange rien à l'affaire.

Mais il faut savoir que même des machines assez chères n'ont pas forcément un bon écran, un bon écran n'est pas une question de prix.

L'écran 15.6-pouces possède une luminosité de 201 cd/m². C'est suffisant en intérieur, mais ce ne sera pas possible de travailler dehors. Les photos que nous avons prises montrent l'étendue des dégâts. On mesure aussi une différence de luminosité 35 cd/m² invisible à l'oeil nu.

Les angles de vision de cet écran sont assez mauvais, cet aspect crucial de l'écran est totalement mis de coté ici, à l'horizontale on a le droit à 40° mais à la verticale on a le droit à vraiment très peu de marge.

Performance

Dans le Asus K53TA, le AMD Fusion APU A A6-3400M (1.4 - 2.3 GHz) possède 4 coeurs. La HD 6520G est identifiée sous le nom HD 6500 (nom de la série) selon Hardware Tools. Mais il possède aussi à bord la HD 6650M (Tools: HD 6500) mais c'st une carte dédiée. la combinaison des deux se nomme Dual Graphics HD 6720G.

Le processeur K10 est overclockable (Turbo Core 2.0). On conseille de se tourner vers notre dossier AMD: Llano APUs et la liste des CPUs. Comparé au A6-3410MX APU (1.6 - 2.3 GHz), aussi un quad-core, le TDP est plus bas: 35 Watts (au lieu de 45). Avec un disque dur 5,400 rpm Seagate (500 Go) et 4 Go de RAM (1x 4 Go).

Performances du CPU

Dans Cinebench R11.5 CPU (multi-core) il est à 1.79 points. Le A6-3410MX (Samsung 305V5A) est à 2.0 points (+13%). Donc en dessous du Core i3-2310M (2.0 points). Un i5 est encore plus rapide, par exemple le 2410M (2.3 GHz, Turbo Boost) est à 2.6 points. dans R11.5 et aussi d'autres tests montrent des performances inférieures aux Core i3.

Avec Turbo speed le CPU monte à 2.3 GHz mais avec tout les systèmes Fusion activés, le GPU a la priorité; donc le GPU prendra l'énergie en priorité au détriment du CPU. Mais en pratique on ne dépasse pas les 2.0 GHz avec une moyenne à 1.8 Ghz.

Les tests montrent beaucoup de changement de fréquence en passant même à 800Mhz mais pendant les jeux on ne sent pas de baisse de performances.

Dans PCMark Vantage, le système Fusion est à 3,808 points. Le 3410MX (Samsung 305V5A) qui n'est pas très loin est à 4,873 points un peu plus vite (1.6 au lieu de 1.4 GHz x 4) et le disque dur est plus rapide (HDD score: 3,224 au lieu de 2,733). Au niveau CPU pur on est derrière les Core i3 (Samsung 200B5B-S01DE, 2310M, 4,874) et i5 laptops (Asus X53E-SX082V, 2410M, HD 3000, 4,887).

Dans PCMark 7 on est à 1,542 points (Samsung 305V5A: 1,562). Mais ce test prend en compte le GPU aussi. Donc comparé à un Vostro 3350 (1,751 points), Asus U30SD (1,772 points), et ProBook 4530s (1,921 points) ce n'est pas si loin derrière.

Performances du GPU

La  HD 6650M de notre Fusion n'est pas le même animal que la HD 6650M du Packard Bell EasyNote LS11-HR-050GE (600/900, core/mémoire) ou du Sony Vaio VPC-Z21Q9E (600/900). La comparaison est impossible à cause du système Crossfire complexe.

Dans 3DMark06, on a un score de 6,186 points. la Nvidia GT 540M est à 8,000 points en moyenne là où une  HD 6650M classique fait 7,250 points (dans le EasyNote LS11). Pour nos tests le mode Crossfire était toujours activé. Dans 3DMark06 sans Crossfire on est à 6,145/ 2,148 points (score/CPU). 

Dans 3DMark Vantage (P) on mesure 3,864 points. La HD 6470M du Samsung 305V5A est à 3,224 points. La Geforce GT 540M donne une  moyenne de 4,400 points (Intel). nous avions le pilotes Catalyst 8.861.0.0.

Le test 3DMark 11 est à P1,404/ G1,439 points, mais sans Crossfire on est 40% en dessous. Ce qui met le Asus K53TA au niveau des GT 550M (1,107; Asus N53SN), HD 6770M (1,407; HP Pavilion dv7-6101eg) ou GT 540 (1,023; Samsung RF511). La GT 540M la plus rapide est à 1,033 points avec l'aide d'un 2630QM quad-core dans 3DMark 11 (Sony Vaio VPC-F21Z1E/BI).

Dans AMD Vision Engine Control Center, il faut déterminer à la main les applications dédiées à la HD 6520G ou au GPU plus puissant (HD 6550M).

Performances dans les jeux

La Radeon HD 6720G2 Dual Graphics, qui est une combinaison d'une HD 6520G et une HD 6550M, est assez bonne dans nos tests. AMD a réparé le problème d'écran bleus du HP Pavilion dv6-6110eg (Llano), qui étaient dû aux drivers.

Verdict des jeux

le système dual graphics Crossfire marche sans aucun problème tout le temps activé. Pour Battlefield: Bad Company 2 et StarCraft 2 mais seul Battlefield profite de 8 images par secondes de plus en Crossfire.

Le package AMD Radeon HD 6720G2 offre de très bonnes performances dans les jeux (Dirt 3, Risen) et mieux qu'une (Battlefield) Nvidia GT 540M sencée être plus rapide. Mais, StarCraft 2 (-10%) et Deus Ex HR (-34%) tournent bien mieux sur un GPU Nvidia. 

Les gamers choisiront la Geforce GT 540M car les résultats varient moins. La HD 6720G2 est bien meilleure que la HD 6680G2 (6470M) (Samsung 305V5A).

Pour mesurer le volume, on a choisit le mode Power4Gear Quiet Office. Mais cela n'as eu aucun effet sur le volume de la ventilation. Avec 32.8 dB(A) le plus gros du bruit vient du disque dur. En bureautique ou pendant le surf on reste entre 33 et 35 dB(A).

A pleine puissance on mesure une moyenne de 40 dB(A) avec pendant les jeux des pics à 44 dB(A).

Température

La série Asus K ont une chose e commun: la conception IceCool du boîtier qui gardent la températures très basses. Et c'est vrai: dans nos tests, le repose poignet ne dépasse pas les 34° maximum.

On mesure une moyenne de 29° au dessus et à pleine puissance. En dessous au niveau de la ventilation on est à 37°.

Comportement pendant le stress

L'ordinateur consomme plus pendant les jeux que pendant nos stress test (normalement l'inverse). Mais ce système Dual GPU n'est pas conventionnel du tout et les tests classiques ont du mal à mesurer ses performances.

Le CPU change de vitesse en fonction de TurboCore 2.0 qui permet aux 4 coeurs du A6-3400M de changer d'état. Avec tout au maximum les 4 coeurs sont à 1,000 MHz avec les deux GPU à 100%. 4 coeurs fluctuent entre 1.0 et 1.4 GHz (Prime Solo) ou à 1.5 GHz constant (Cinebench multi-core tests) selon le test.

Haut parleurs

Les hauts parleurs au dessus du clavier sont spécialisées dans les aigus, avec peu ou pas de basses ni de médium. Pour les mélomanes ce ne sera pas utilisable. Le volume max est assez bon mais pas ahurissant non plus. On ne sent pas de vibration pour autant. 

Autonomie

L'autonomie est très longue à vide (luminosité minimum) donc une basse consommation. A vide on mesure entre 10 Watts et 16 Watts (minimum et maximum à vide sans batterie).

Le stress test (Prime95, Furmark) ne consomme pas plus que 45 Watts. Mais pendant les jeux on est entre 50 et 66 Watts. L'adaptateur de 90-Watts (372 g) laisse 30 Watts de marge pour recharger la batterie, de plus en plus rare que l'adaptateur soit adapté!

La batterie six-cellules lithium ion de 56 Wh offre une excellente autonomie. Le K53TA dure 5h en surf WiFi. En lecture de DVD il dure 3:36 h. Par contre la charge dure tout de même 4 h (Samsung 305V5A: 2:00 h).

Le portable Llano Samsung 305V5A ne dure que 3:26 h en surf WiFi (dual GPU, mais 45 W de TDP). Le HP Pavilion dv6-6110eg (dual GPU, Llano) dure 4:38 h avec sa batterie 55 Wh. Le Asus X43SV est à 3:34 h avec un Core i5 et une GT 540M (56 Wh).

Verdict

La série Llano A APU (A6-3400M, dual GPU avec HD 6720G2) respecte sa promesse: un portable de jeu pour 500 Euros. La Radeon HD 6680G2 du Samsung Serie 3 305V5A-S01DE (AMD Llano avec HD 6470M) a été battu de peu par notre modèle de test.

L'autonomie est très bonne (5 h) et la consommation basse (à vide: 10 Watts). Mais l'écran brillant est de mauvaise qualité, les dispositifs d'entrées bas de gamme et le peu de ports (il y a tout de même un port USB 3.0!), tout juste bon. 

Mais pour 499 Euros, le K53TA-SX026V est assez puissant pour jouer aux derniers jeux. On trouve aussi la GeForce GT 540M, que l'on trouve au même prix dans le Acer Aspire 5750G avec un Core i3 peut lui faire de l'ombre.
