At first glance, you might mistake the Dell Latitude E4300 for an earlier-vintage laptop: Its sharp lines and subtle finish stick out in today's world of glossy gadgets with rounded corners. That's not to say the E4300 isn't a handsome portable, however--it did grow on me. Even better, the matte finish isn't a magnet for fingerprints, dust, and smudges like every iPhone-inspired design on the market.The E4300 is a solid business or general-purpose laptop with some sweet extra touches.

The Dell Latitude E4300 is a power house of a notebook that is as small as can be. Designed for business use, built with quality in mind, and can handle any office or media related task thrown at it. It has an incredible battery life, great power saving capabilities, and the wide range of display brightnesses and keyboard brightnesses are great features not found in most notebooks. The speaker is a bit below average, the touchpad slightly above average at best, and the chassis has one or two flex points that should not be there in a notebook at this price range.

We can’t help but compare the Dell Latitude E4300 to another business-oriented, 13-inch ultraportable, the Lenovo ThinkPad X300, as well as its update, the ThinkPad X301. Like the Latitude E4300, the X300 and X301 are both ultra-thin, use SSDs, and come with a combination of a TrackPoint and a touchpad. The E4300 offers a much faster processor (2.4 GHz vs. 1.4 GHz) and slightly better graphics performance than even the fastest configuration of the X301. The E4300 also lasts significantly longer, even without its extended battery slice, besting the X301 by more than 2 hours (5:39 to 3:29). However, when it comes to size, weight, ease of typing, and screen resolution, the ThinkPads are just a bit more pleasing to use. If you can deal with its extra heft and somewhat mushy keyboard, the E4300 offers an industry-leading combination of endurance and processing power.

Aesthetically this is the sexiest Dell business laptop yet. Dell’s Customer Service for Small Business has proven its superb care once again. I tried very hard to love this laptop given my positive experiences with the Dell D820, and Dell Business Support previously, but ultimately couldn’t get over the engineering shortcomings for the $2,250 that I paid. The screen is flawed, the keyboard flexes and is a step down in terms of responsiveness and noise to my Latitude D-Series notebook. When the user interface experience and performance is comparable to the XPS M1330 or the Lenovo U330, it’s hard to justify a $1,000 premium over those laptops. I wrote this whole review on the Dell E4300. It’s not a bad notebook. If the Dell E4300 lived in its own universe, it would be a solid notebook. But unfortunately competition exists, and its premium pricing is awfully high.

Comment

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: Carte graphique intégrée (Mémoire partagée) livrée avec le chipset GM45(Montevina). Grâce à deux shaders de plus et une vitesse plus élevée, beaucoup plus rapide que la GMA X3100. Mais toujours pas envisageable pour les joueurs (Les jeux DirectX 10 ne seront pas jouable ou alors à de très faibles résolutions). Le processeur vidéo permet de décoder la HD (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2) , pour la lecture BluRay sur des processeurs plus lents.

La plupart des jeux pas trop demandants actuels peuvent tourner de façon fluide. soyez prêts à endurer un rendu graphique assez moche à cause de la basse résolution et des détails au minimum. Par ailleurs ces cartes sont suffisantes pour un travail de bureau et le visionnage de vidéos (pas évident pour la vidéo HD).

Intel Core 2 Duo:

C'est le successeur du Core Duo avec des pipelines 5-20% plus rapides sans consommation supplémentaire. Comme une addition à la conception du core duo là existe un quatrième décodeur, une SSE-unité amplifiée et une unité logique arithmétique additionnelle (ALU). Le core 2 duo pour ordinateurs portables est identique aux processeurs de core 2 duo d'ordinateur de bureau mais les portables fonctionnent avec des tensions inférieures et une vitesse de Frontside. L'exécution des portables également synchronisés est 20-25% inférieure à des ordinateur de bureau en raison de fréquence d’horloge inférieure de Frontside et plus lents de disques durs.

SP9400: Le Intel Core 2 Duo SP9400 est un processeur pour portables avec 6Mo de cache de niveau 2 cadencé à 2.4 GHz avec un TDP de 25 Watt.

13.3": Ce format d'affichage peut s'appeler le mini grand format pour petits portables.
L'avantage est que le subnotebook peut être  de petite dimension et peut être porté facilement. de plus Un petit écran a un avantage, il a besoin de peu de courant, ce qui améliore le temps d'exécution de batterie et en conséquence la mobilité. L'inconvénient est que la lecture des textes est épuisante pour les yeux. Les hautes résolutions sont a proscrire.
