L’IdeaPad U310 de Lenovo est un ultrabook au format 13,3 pouces embarquant une configuration d’entrée de gamme. Le processeur Intel fait l’affaire pour les applications bureautiques et multimédia courantes, mais pas pour le jeu. Vendu 699 euros soit un prix plancher sur le marché des ultrabooks, l’IdeaPad ne brille pas non plus par son unité de stockage. Il s’agit d’un disque dur mécanique (500 Go tout de même !) alors que certains constructeurs optent pour des SSD, autrement plus rapides et économes en énergie.

It's not any worse than its low-priced Ultrabook peers, and the keyboard is good for those who want to do a lot of typing on a small machine. For a 13-inch Ultrabook priced at £599/US$729 (around AU$912), it's perfectly acceptable. You'll get something a fair bit snappier if you can stretch to something like the Asus Zenbook UX32A, though.

With that in mind, you’re probably going to forget about the average screen, the heavier body and the sub-par battery life of the Lenovo U310. Of course, if you want these solved, you can get better ultrabooks than this one, for closer to one grand. With the IdeaPad U310, Lenovo shows that budget ultrabooks are not a myth and good 13.3 inch ultra-portable laptops cab be bought for about $700. Of course, the U310 still has its issues, but the overall package is good enough to make it my favorite cheap ultrabook right now.

While the HP Folio 13-1020us holds on as the current Editors' Choice for ultrabooks for its lighter weight and longer battery life, the Lenovo IdeaPad U310 holds its own as a smart alternative.

If you just read the comparison shopping section above, you know our reviews team is only just starting to scratch the surface of lower-priced Ultrabooks. That said, it would seem that the Lenovo IdeaPad U310 is a solid bet for the money: it's attractive (save for that glossy bezel), it offers a decent selection of ports and while the keyboard and trackpad aren't perfect, they still present an excellent alternative to what you'll find on many pricier machines.

At the end of the day, the U310 will most likely appeal to college students and other young, budget-minded shoppers, since it's cheaper than comparably stylish computers and it comes in bright, fun colours.

The U310 isn’t without some drawbacks, though, the biggest of which is some apparent binging that now has the laptop topping the scales at a beastly 3.6 pounds, versus 2.9 pounds for the U300s. (The switch from SSD to HDD is responsible for only a tiny fraction of that.) Once a competitor on the weight front, the U310 is suddenly one of the heaviest 13.3-inch ultrabooks on the market. And while the metal shell makes it impressively sturdy on the whole, I was far from thrilled with the plastic bezel surrounding the LCD. A fingernail will easily pry this flimsy piece up, and I’m concerned that these bezels coming off will eventually be a big problem for U310 owners.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" de la légende anglaise, novo (latin) pour nouveau) a été fondée en 1984 en tant que société chinoise de commerce d'ordinateurs. En 2004, la société était le plus grand fabricant d'ordinateurs portables en Chine et, après l'acquisition de la division PC d'IBM en 2005, le quatrième au monde. En plus des ordinateurs de bureau et des ordinateurs portables, la société fabrique des moniteurs, des projecteurs, des serveurs, etc., et se spécialise dans le développement, la fabrication et la commercialisation d'électronique grand public, d'ordinateurs personnels, de logiciels, de solutions d'entreprise et de services connexes.

En 2016, l'entreprise s'est classée au premier rang mondial des ventes d'ordinateurs. Il le détenait encore en 2023 avec environ 23% de part de marché mondiale. Les gammes de produits importantes sont Thinkpad, Legion et Ideapad.

En 2011, elle a acquis une participation majoritaire dans Medion AG, un fabricant européen de matériel informatique. En 2014, Motorola Mobility a été racheté, ce qui a donné un coup de pouce à Lenovo sur le marché des smartphones.

La plupart des jeux pas trop demandants actuels peuvent tourner de façon fluide. soyez prêts à endurer un rendu graphique assez moche à cause de la basse résolution et des détails au minimum. Par ailleurs ces cartes sont suffisantes pour un travail de bureau et le visionnage de vidéos (pas évident pour la vidéo HD).

Intel HD Graphics 4000:

Carte graphique intégrée aux processeurs de la génération Ivy Bridge. Possède des fréquences différentes selon les processeurs (du ULV au quad core de bureau) et donc des performances différentes.

Seuls les vieux jeux peuvent tourner de façon fluide sur ces ordinateurs (S'ils ne sont pas trop gourmands en ressources). Les coeurs à mémoire partagée de cette catégorie ont l'avantage d'être moins chaud et moins gourmand en énergie. Pour le bureau, internet, l'édition de photos, et le montage vidéo ces cartes graphiques n'ont aucune restrictions.

Intel HD Graphics 3000:

3 GPUs à venir (1er Trimestre 2011) intégrés aux CPU Intel Sandy Bridge (Core ix-2xxx). Les 3000 / 200 correspondent à la puce GT2 avec 12 Execution Units (EUs).

3317U:

Processeur Ivy Bridge Dual Core ULV du second trimestre. Il possède une fréquence de 1.7 - 2.6 GHz et un GPU HD 4000 intégré (350 - 1050 MHz). Le TDP est noté à 17 W.

3337U: Processeur Ivy-Bridge ULV du premier trimestre 2013. Avec une cadence de 1.8 - 2.7 GHz et un GPU HD 4000 (350 - 1100 MHz). Le TDP fait 17 W.

Intel Core i3:

2377M:

Processeur économique en énergie ULV cadencé à 1.5 GHz sans la fonction Turbo boost. Il possède une carte graphique intégrée HD 3000 cadencé entre 350 et 1000 MHz et un contrôleur mémoire DDR3-1333.
