The Lenovo IdeaPads U310 and U410 are not the sexiest Ultrabooks on the market, but they're not really supposed to be. Last year's U300s is still top dog, but the point of launching these two at CES 2012 is to finally turn this class of computer into something that normal people might actually be willing to pay for.

If you want a decent bit of hardware at a not-unreasonable cost, then you might consider the IdeaPad U410. However, despite the good features like the SSD cache I, feel that Lenovo has not delivered on what it claims, specifically in the battery department. Also, if you are spending more than £500 on a laptop, you'd expect it to actually feel worth the money. Alas, as a low cost Ultrabook, the build of the Lenovo IdeaPad U410 rather disappoints in this respect.

Overall, there's a lot to like about the design and build quality of the U410, from its carrying comfort to its excellent keyboard and touch pad. And its components are certainly up to the task of general computing and light aming.That said, the $800 ultrabook space is clogged with competition. Perhaps most notably, if you don't mind carrying a laptop that weighs a few ounces more, and think you might still need an optical drive now and again, we think Acer's Timeline Ultra M5 481TG-6814 sports a better balance of features for a slightly lower $779.

With the U410 being an Ultrabook it has some notable design specifications imposed on it and the key item is thickness. This 21mm thich machine offers a portable size and the weight is well balanced. We noticed no quality issues with the finish and each part joined to the next well. We did however note that there was more flex that we would like on the bottom panel but that shouldn't be an issue in normal use.

Lenovo's IdeaPad U410 does a good job of being useful in most situations, if you aren't looking to do some hardcore gaming or DVD/CD burning. It's hard to complain about the little things when this system shows such a vast improvement over the Lenovo ThinkPad U310 but manages to be the same price. For students who must keep a budget in mind but aren't willing to sacrifice too much power in their laptop, this is probably the perfect option. If you're looking for a laptop for back-to-school that's not too pricey, the Lenovo U410 is worth a close look.

We like the U410 a lot. It's well-designed, sturdy and has plenty of power. We have some slight concerns about the battery, and you certainly won't see Lenovo's quoted maximum of nine hours, not unless you cast some sort of power saving spell over it anyway.

One of the prime reasons for going to a larger ultrabook is for the display and graphics. The Lenovo IdeaPad U410 is mixed in this area as it does feature dedicated NVIDIA graphics but the 14-inch display panel leaves much to be desired. Lenovo does offer some amazing amount of storage space that rivals other ultrabooks but still keeps boot times fast.

But it's sturdily built and dishes out a decent helping of power for a reasonable price. Okay, so the technophiles of the world probably won’t find much to get excited about with the IdeaPad U410, but this laptop will prove to be a good value for those who are more concerned with functionality than amazing specs. There are a few flaws, such as the shorter-than-expected battery life, but for the most part, average consumers who want a quality laptop will find a lot to love about the IdeaPad U410. Lenovo has produced a really solid portable gaming machine, but it does feel like its focus on a strong GPU, RAM and hard drive have taken a toll elsewhere. The overall balance is definitely still in its favour, though. The final result may be more a light home machine than a road warrior's ideal Ultrabook, but this much power in this small a frame at this price means it's hard to contend with - warts and all.

L’IdeaPad U410 Touch de Lenovo est un peu plus gros et un peu plus lourd que le U310 mais est clairement plus endurant que ce dernier. Agréable à utiliser à la maison et en voyage, il lui manque un écran plus lumineux et mieux défini pour mériter une quatriéme étoile.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" de la légende anglaise, novo (latin) pour nouveau) a été fondée en 1984 en tant que société chinoise de commerce d'ordinateurs. En 2004, la société était le plus grand fabricant d'ordinateurs portables en Chine et, après l'acquisition de la division PC d'IBM en 2005, le quatrième au monde. En plus des ordinateurs de bureau et des ordinateurs portables, la société fabrique des moniteurs, des projecteurs, des serveurs, etc., et se spécialise dans le développement, la fabrication et la commercialisation d'électronique grand public, d'ordinateurs personnels, de logiciels, de solutions d'entreprise et de services connexes.

En 2016, l'entreprise s'est classée au premier rang mondial des ventes d'ordinateurs. Il le détenait encore en 2023 avec environ 23% de part de marché mondiale. Les gammes de produits importantes sont Thinkpad, Legion et Ideapad.

En 2011, elle a acquis une participation majoritaire dans Medion AG, un fabricant européen de matériel informatique. En 2014, Motorola Mobility a été racheté, ce qui a donné un coup de pouce à Lenovo sur le marché des smartphones.

La plupart des jeux pas trop demandants actuels peuvent tourner de façon fluide. soyez prêts à endurer un rendu graphique assez moche à cause de la basse résolution et des détails au minimum. Par ailleurs ces cartes sont suffisantes pour un travail de bureau et le visionnage de vidéos (pas évident pour la vidéo HD).

NVIDIA GeForce 610M: Carte graphique d'entrée de gamme basée sur une GeForce GT 520M ou une GeForce GT 520MX selon les cas.

NVIDIA GeForce 710M: Carte graphique entrée de gamme de l'offre 700M basée sur la GT 620M.

Intel HD Graphics 4000:

Carte graphique intégrée aux processeurs de la génération Ivy Bridge. Possède des fréquences différentes selon les processeurs (du ULV au quad core de bureau) et donc des performances différentes.

Processeur Ivy Bridge Dual Core ULV du second trimestre. Il possède une fréquence de 1.7 - 2.6 GHz et un GPU HD 4000 intégré (350 - 1050 MHz). Le TDP est noté à 17 W.

3337U: Processeur Ivy-Bridge ULV du premier trimestre 2013. Avec une cadence de 1.8 - 2.7 GHz et un GPU HD 4000 (350 - 1100 MHz). Le TDP fait 17 W.

Intel Core i3:

2377M:

Processeur économique en énergie ULV cadencé à 1.5 GHz sans la fonction Turbo boost. Il possède une carte graphique intégrée HD 3000 cadencé entre 350 et 1000 MHz et un contrôleur mémoire DDR3-1333.
