You may probably get a better specced notebook at the same price, but we doubt you'll be able to find something that easily matches the build and design of this notebook. That's really what seals the deal for us. Grab this notebook if it fits your budget and needs; you won't regret it (unless you despise the glossy finish internally and externally).

EN→FRA highly portable and practical laptop with great all-round performance. Samsung produces many highly portable laptops in the sub-£799 category. The X460 is a departure from this, and is a halo product looking to take the brand upmarket. If you don't mind the cost, the Samsung X460 is a highly impressive machine. It may lack the premium feel of other high-end laptops, but its excellent abilities and amazing portability make it one of the best 14.1-inch machines we've seen.

EN→FRThe bigger issues with the X460 are the notebook’s price and the competition. There isn’t a lot of direct competition if you are looking for a 4.0 pound notebook with a 14-inch display (aside from the pricey Toughbook F8 or the older Y7) but if you are willing to add a bit of weight/thickness there are some great deals to be had. Selling for about $1600 the X460-44P isn’t particularly cheap which means the buyer is going to have to want this size and the optical drive specifically and will appreciate the thinness and design of the computer. The X460 is a very good computer and it is especially thin for its size, but considering that it is coming in more expensive than the new MacBook, the Dell Studio XPS 13, and some other very solid systems, it might be a tough sell. The X360 does a bit better job of distinguishing itself from the pack, but it increases the price as well, so might seem like an alternative, but it is aimed more at people looking for an ultraportable.

EN→FRIn taking on the MacBook Air, the X460 has a huge amount to live up to. In many ways, it succeeds, and then some. If you’re determined to get one of the lightest and thinnest laptops, without compromising on screen size, performance or features, then it’s definitely worth a look. It can’t match the quality of its rival from Apple, however, nor the latest ultra portables from Sony. And therein lies the crux of the problem. With similar materials, design and performance to its cheaper siblings, we’re just not convinced it’s worth the extra money over “lesser” Samsung models. Such as the sublime Samsung Q310.

EN→FRAlthough it’s not quite the lightest 14.1-inch notebook around, the Samsung X460-44P is certainly the thinnest, and it offers more style than all of its business notebook competitors. Plus, this machine provides a good one-two punch of performance and battery life. We wish the nine-cell battery option cost less, and that Samsung offered integrated mobile broadband connectivity. Also keep in mind that you can’t configure this system to order; what you see is what you get. But overall the X460-44P is one of our favorite thin-and-light notebooks.

NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS: La 9300M GS en plus lente. Elle supporte la PureVideo HD (VP3)et l’Hybrid-SLI (HybridPower et GeForceBoost).
Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

Intel Core 2 Duo:
C'est le successeur du Core Duo avec des pipelines 5-20% plus rapides sans consommation supplémentaire. Comme une addition à la conception du core duo là existe un quatrième décodeur, une SSE-unité amplifiée et une unité logique arithmétique additionnelle (ALU). Le core 2 duo pour ordinateurs portables est identique aux processeurs de core 2 duo d'ordinateur de bureau mais les portables fonctionnent avec des tensions inférieures et une vitesse de Frontside. L'exécution des portables également synchronisés est 20-25% inférieure à des ordinateur de bureau en raison de fréquence d’horloge inférieure de Frontside et plus lents de disques durs.
P8600: Un dual core puissant et pas cher. Suffisant pour la plupart des applications avec un TDP de 25W TDP donc compatible avec les portables les plus mobiles.

14.1": La taille d'affichage de 14 pouces est un mélange entre les petits formats de petits portables et l'affichage standard de 15 pouces.
La raison pour laquelle tant de personnes possèdent des écrans de taille moyenne: cette taille n'est pas épuisante pour les yeux, n'a pas besoin de trop de courant et les ordinateurs portables peuvent rester tout à fait compacts.
