NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU
La Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Mobile (pour ordinateurs portables, GN20-E5, Max-P, ID 249c / 249d) est la deuxième carte graphique Ampère la plus rapide pour les ordinateurs portables au début de 2021. Elle est basée sur la puce Ampère GA104-770-A1 et offre une mémoire graphique GDDR6 de 8 Go avec un bus mémoire de 256 bits. Elle prend en charge PCIe 4.0 et sera disponible en deux variantes différentes de 80 à 125 Watt (TGP). La carte graphique de l'ordinateur portable utilise la technologie GB5-256 et la taille de la puce est de 40x40mm. Le GPU supporte l'eDP 1.4b pour connecter le moniteur interne.
Il n'y a plus de variante Max-Q (anciennement utilisée pour les variantes à faible consommation) mais chaque OEM peut choisir de mettre en œuvre les technologies Max-Q (Dynamic Boost, Whispermode).
Les performances dépendent du réglage TGP et du refroidissement de l'ordinateur portable. En moyenne, elles devraient être similaires à celles de l'ancienne RTX 2080 Super Mobile et donc mieux adaptées aux jeux QHD - 4k. La carte de bureau RTX 3070 du même nom est nettement plus rapide.
La puce GA104 offre 6 144 FP32 ALUs dont la moitié peut également exécuter des instructions INT32 (soit 3 072 INT32 ALUs). La RTX 3070 n'utilise cependant pas toutes les UAL de la puce. Avec Turing, tous les shaders peuvent encore exécuter des instructions FP32 ou INT32. Selon Nvidia, les cœurs de raytracing et de tenseur de la puce ont également été améliorés. La série mobile RTX 3070 utilise 5 120 des 6 144 cœurs. Les puces Ampere comprennent également un encodeur vidéo amélioré de 5e génération (NVENC pour H.264 et H.265) et un décodeur de 7e génération (pour divers formats, dont AV1).
La puce GA104 est fabriquée par Samsung en 8 nm (8N), ce qui n'est pas tout à fait à la hauteur du nœud de 7 nm de TSMC (utilisé par exemple par AMD et également pour la puce professionnelle GA100 d'Ampere).
