Qu'est-ce qui peut mal se passer ? Il a l’allure d’un ultrabook à 1000 €, mais avec les performances d’un netbook à 100. Il y a une bonne raison qui fait que l’on ne voit pas beaucoup de portables Intel Atom avec des écrans 4K UHD sur le marché : c’est un couplage peu équilibré.

Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion)

Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Si la fréquence est trop basse, certaines personnes peuvent être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire, des maux de tête ou même percevoir les variations.
Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) décelé 961.5 Hz ≤ 99 Niveau de luminosité

Le rétroéclairage de l'écran scintille à la fréquence de 961.5 Hz (certainement du fait de l'utilisation d'une MDI - Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) à un niveau de luminosité inférieur ou égal à 99 % . Aucun scintillement ne devrait être perceptible au-dessus de cette valeur.

La fréquence de rafraîchissement de 961.5 Hz est élevée, la grande majorité des utilisateurs ne devrait pas percevoir de scintillements et être sujette à une fatigue oculaire accrue.

En comparaison, 51 % des appareils testés n'emploient pas MDI pour assombrir leur écran. Nous avons relevé une moyenne à 9429 (minimum : 43 - maximum : 142900) Hz dans le cas où une MDI était active.

Aussi fin et sexy qu’il peut paraître, ses performances sont juste trop faibles pour pouvoir être plus qu’un simple serveur d’impression ou qu’une station d’e-mailing. Les actions les plus simples comme cliquer et taper ont un délai de réaction, rendant le LapBook Plus un mauvais choix pour le multimédia, le streaming ou la navigation…

Au crédit de Chuwi, le clavier est plutôt bon par rapport aux autres ultrabooks, et l’écran 4K UHD est sans réplique à ce niveau de prix. Malheureusement ces qualités réelles sont à peu près inutiles, parce qu’elles sont gâchées par le processeur le plus lent que l’on peut trouver sur un portable cette année.

Un portable élégant gâché par un processeur Intel Atom, qui coule ce qui aurait pu être un honnête ultrabook bon marché. Les utilisateurs seront mieux équipés avec un portable Core i3 de génération précédente, aux meilleures performances.
