ACER Vero : de l'éco-responsabilité dans un laptop

C’est la première fois que notre testeur de laptop teste un pc de la sorte, et il faut dire qu’il n’a pas été ménagé, comparé à des grosses pointures, l'ACER Vero n’a eu de cesse que de se débattre pour ne pas couler, mais il a toujours réussi, tant bien que mal à surnager. Si bien que même si les gameurs que nous sommes ne sont pas convaincus par sa prestation vidéoludique, il est tout de même bon de noter que ce VERO a certaines qualités indéniables, il travaille en silence même s’il faut patienter. Et surtout, il permet de le faire longtemps, la batterie est tenace. Enfin nous félicitons ACER pour son approche écoresponsable poussée jusqu’au transport et à la réutilisation de ses emballages, en plus de nous prouver que le plastique recyclé : ça fonctionne, même sur un pad tactile, et indirectement ce test a surement moins consommé que ceux de la concurrence. Nous avons un laptop qui risque de durer dans le temps si on prend la peine de l’entretenir, chose que nous vous invitons à faire tant il est facile de le faire. Mais il y a un revers à la médaille, l’écologie, le bio et le bien-être provoque souvent un surcout indéniable. A 899 € nous le trouvons encore cher alors que pour le bien de la planète, il faudrait que le portefeuille suive. Les moins fortunés d’entre nous rechigneront à prendre ce laptop. Il faudrait, pour que les choses changent que l’éco-responsabilité soit adaptée aux finances de tous.

The Acer Aspire Vero offers solid eco-friendly power without expecting a fortune from consumers. Boasting surprisingly good performance metrics, a clear sound system, long-lasting battery life of nearly 13 hours and a crisp webcam, Acer’s latest Vero is a good pick for conscious buyers. However, it’s bogged down by an underwhelming display, mushy keyboard and subpar SSD. I’m also not the biggest fan of its design, but you’ll certainly enjoy the Cypress Green, Mariana Blue, or Volcanic Gray more. If you’re looking for a similarly priced laptop with a better display, we recommend the Asus Zenbook 14 OLED. Otherwise, the Aspire Vero is a good pick for those who want to make a more environmentally sound decision when purchasing a laptop.

Interestingly, it is not perfect in terms of “laptopness”, but at the same time, it is very good for what it represents.Undoubtedly, Acer has done a great job in helping the environment and making an effort to become carbon neutral. We will be heavenly happy if all manufacturers go this way with most if not all of their notebooks. Until then, reuse, reduce, and recycle.

Between its decently peppy Intel chip, excellent battery life, and plentiful ports, there’s tons to love on top of its eco-conscious design. Once you uninstall Norton and the other annoying bloatware, you’ll have an awesome little computer. That said, the things Acer is doing with the Vero series shouldn’t necessarily need calling out–they should be a baseline for the industry. We’d love to see the post-consumer recycled materials and eco-friendly thinking used here across the Acer lineup and beyond. If combined with a upgradeable, super repairable approach like that of Framework, there could be a meaningful reduction of waste in laptop computers that could keep a lot of useful material from the landfill.

It won't be a high-end gaming machine but it also does not come with that sort of price. Compared to other computers with similar equipment, its price actually comes in on the low side of $899.99. Laptops from competitors with 16 GB RAM, 1 TB of storage, a high-resolution display, and a 12th-generation, 10-core processor can easily exceed $1,200. While it is not itself aiming to appear to be a value product, it is a good value. It also has the good fortune of being packaged in an eco-friendly recycled plastic case that is attractive and appears to be just as durable.

The Acer Aspire Vero Green with its style makes a statement that one can make a sustainable laptop that does not compromise on either features or performance. During my usage, I enjoyed testing the Acer Aspire Vero Green and liked how it looks and feels. If you are looking for a compact laptop that can do normal day-to-day tasks, deliver great battery life, and is also eco-friendly, then the Acer Aspire Vero Green is a great pick. The laptop is expected to launch in the next few weeks in India. Considering the price of the current generation Aspire Vero Green, the latest model with the 12th Gen Intel Core CPU is likely to be priced around Rs 60,000 in India for the Core-i5 variant, and the one we tested might cost around Rs 75,000.
