The Fujitsu LifeBook A6030 stands out from the pack by featuring a speedy Intel Next Generation Centrino Duo processor (a first for the "A" series), excellent wireless performance, and Fujitsu's unique Point-and-Write technology that adds Tablet PC functionality to the touchpad. Priced at $1,349, the A6030 is an excellent productivity machine, but we wish it weighed less and lasted longer on a charge.
Weighing in at a hefty 6.6 pounds, the A6030 sports a plain metallic-gray color and a spacious, spill-resistant keyboard that makes typing a smooth, pleasurable experience. Above the keyboard are two quick-launch buttons, My Home and Web Search, for quickly accessing a user-defined homepage and search engine. Adjacent to these are two volume keys and three additional programmable buttons that come premapped to boot up Calculator, Notepad, and Windows Mobility Center.

You can use the Fujitsu LifeBook A6030's touchpad as a pointer and as a small writing pad. It won't replace a full-size tablet screen, but it's great for occasionally storing quick handwritten notes or drawings.
Although the dark-silver Fujitsu LifeBook A6030's battery life is disappointingly short, the unit is generously equipped for the price. The optional dual-purpose touchpad, which Fujitsu calls the Point and Write Pad, is the Fujitsu LifeBook A6030's most interesting feature. It lets you write handwritten notes within an area of the touchpad, using the bundled stylus and pen-input software. What you write appears on an input line on the notebook's screen. (Unlike a tablet PC, the Fujitsu LifeBook A6030 doesn't have a screen that you can write on.) We found that taking notes was laborious at first;

The boxy, slate-gray Fujitsu LifeBook A6030 didn't exactly catch our eye when it rolled into our offices. But after spending a little time with the machine, we found something in the laptop to please every type of user. The laptop's 15.4-inch display is a delight for movie-watchers (though the reflective screen coating might turn off some users), and its full-size keyboard will please productivity hounds. Tech fiends will be fascinated (or possibly confounded) by the A6030's unique touch pad, while speed demons will appreciate the laptop's competitive benchmark performance. And accounting types will love that the $1,449 LifeBook A6030 costs less than similar systems, such as the HP Pavilion dv6500t and the Sony VAIO FZ180E. The LifeBook A6030 is not without flaws--for example, it lacks a Webcam for video chats and its battery life, while acceptable, could be longer.

Bottom Line: If you value a bright screen and a solid feature set, the Fujitsu LifeBook A6030 has that and Intel's new Centrino Duo platform to boot. Pros: Awe-inspiring widescreen. Unique, Wacom-enabled touchpad. Five USB ports. Excellent keyboard. Cons: Uninspiring battery life.

Compared with the rounded edges and glossy black exteriors of other laptops in our sub-$1,000 roundup, the Fujitsu LifeBook A6110 looks decidedly square. We're willing to look past the boxy design--indeed, we have in the past--because the LifeBook A series offers one of the most thorough feature sets available in a mainstream laptop. But you'll have to look past more than square edges with the $999 LifeBook A6110; the laptop's scores on our performance benchmarks ranged from top of its class to bottom of the pile, and it barely survived an hour and a half on our battery drain tests. If you have $1,000 to spend and want a sleekly designed laptop, look to the Gateway M-1618 or the Sony VAIO CR120; if you want the fastest performance of our low-cost systems, look to the Lenovo 3000 N200.

There’s much to like about the Fujitsu LifeBook A6120. It offers good speed for the price, strong Wi-Fi performance, a spacious hard drive, and more durability features than you’d find on most budget notebooks. For the same price, though, the 14.1-inch Gateway T-6828 offers a slimmer, more stylish design, a larger hard drive, 802.11n wireless, and comparable performance, though you’ll give up some screen real estate. If you want a larger screen, the A6120 is a strong contender.

The A6120 doesn't win the laurel crown in any particular category, but it gets enough right at the right price to rate as a good (not great) notebook.

The Fujitsu LifeBook A6120 ($1,369 direct, as tested) is a classic mainstream laptop, geared toward general-purpose users with a sensible spending limit. It comes with Intel 's newest-generation processor (code-named Penryn), an abundance of RAM, and features few can complain about. Furthermore, Fujitsu 's direct channel, where customers can add and subtract features as they please, is as intuitive as buying a laptop from Dell 's or HP's Web site. It's not the sexiest mainstream laptop, but the A6120 goes with Intel's latest technology and has a wide selection of features.

Overall, the Fujitsu LifeBook A6120 is a solid notebook with good performance and some nice features. The abundance of USB ports and the combionation of a PC Card slot and ExpressCard slot mean this notebook has plenty of room for external expansion. Although the A6120 isn't a gaming machine, the Penryn processor can handle everyday computing tasks with ease. If the awkward speaker placement and overall thickness and weight don't bother you then this notebook makes an excellent choice. In short, the LifeBook A6120 is a dependable workhorse of a notebook but lacks the flashy features found on most consumer notebooks.

If you need a notebook suitable for both business and pleasure, the Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 merits serious attention. The Fujitsu A1110 would be a great deal if it was $400 less than the current price of $999 for the configuration we reviewed. It offers a basic desktop replacement form-factor with a midrange processor and integrated graphics, which is the starting configuration for many budget notebook models. The design could be improved in many areas, but it does have a colorful lid which gives it a bit of a facelift. Build quality could be improved across the board with flexible plastic over the screen and palmrest. From what we have seen Fujitsu really needs to improve the design of this consumer notebook and rethink their pricing structure, especially now with the slumping economy.

Competing in the budget laptop market is hard, what with the cut-throat competition from giants like Dell and HP and the countless low-priced models being offered. The A1110 would fare better against the competition had Fujitsu spent more time designing a sleeker-looking chassis.

Fujitsu-Siemens: FSC est l'un des fabricants internationaux majeurs avec particulièrement des parts de marché élevés en Allemagne. Dans les pays de langue allemande beaucoup d'ordinateurs portables de FSC sont passés en revue. Seulement peu de ces ordinateurs portables examinés réalisent des positions supérieures accordant l'estimation totale et l'estimation des qualité/prix.

FSC critiques

Ses cartes graphiques ne sont pas faites pour le jeu. Et même si ils tournent, ce sera avec des erreurs d'affichage et un framerate ignoble. Ce cartes graphique sont totalement incompatible avec les joueurs! les applications de bureau et d'Internet, ne sont pas un problème pour ces cartes graphiques.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) X3100: L’Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) X3100 est une carte graphique intégrée sur un chipset Mobile Intel 965GM (pour Merom = architecture Core 2). C’est un successeur de la GMA 950. Les plus intéressant c’est l’ajout d’un pipeline programmable. Grâce à l’introduction des caractéristiques DirectX9, HDR et Transform & Lighning (T&L) matériel, son prédécesseur n’avait que du T&L en logiciel – devrai être prêt pour Windows Vista Premium (supporte Aero Glass complètement). Selon nos informations elle devra être bien meilleure que la GMA 950.

Seuls les vieux jeux peuvent tourner de façon fluide sur ces ordinateurs (S'ils ne sont pas trop gourmands en ressources). Les coeurs à mémoire partagée de cette catégorie ont l'avantage d'être moins chaud et moins gourmand en énergie. Pour le bureau, internet, l'édition de photos, et le montage vidéo ces cartes graphiques n'ont aucune restrictions.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: Carte graphique intégrée (Mémoire partagée) livrée avec le chipset GM45(Montevina). Grâce à deux shaders de plus et une vitesse plus élevée, beaucoup plus rapide que la GMA X3100. Mais toujours pas envisageable pour les joueurs (Les jeux DirectX 10 ne seront pas jouable ou alors à de très faibles résolutions). Le processeur vidéo permet de décoder la HD (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2) , pour la lecture BluRay sur des processeurs plus lents.

Intel Core 2 Duo:

C'est le successeur du Core Duo avec des pipelines 5-20% plus rapides sans consommation supplémentaire. Comme une addition à la conception du core duo là existe un quatrième décodeur, une SSE-unité amplifiée et une unité logique arithmétique additionnelle (ALU). Le core 2 duo pour ordinateurs portables est identique aux processeurs de core 2 duo d'ordinateur de bureau mais les portables fonctionnent avec des tensions inférieures et une vitesse de Frontside. L'exécution des portables également synchronisés est 20-25% inférieure à des ordinateur de bureau en raison de fréquence d’horloge inférieure de Frontside et plus lents de disques durs.

T8100:

Anciennement la moyenne gamme : le Core 2 Duo est basé sur l'architecture Penryn avec FSB800 et VT-x.

P8400: Dual core de milieu de gamme avec un TDP de 25 Watt. Pour les gamers ce ne sera pas suffisant.

T5800:

Merom Core 2 Duo bas de gamme sans Virtualization avec une température maximum très basse.
