The Dell costs double the price of the Satellite and the performance was acceptable for the consumer that Toshiba is marketing it towards. If you look hard enough, you can a find a model similar to the one we have tested here for around $1100 -- not the cheapest system on the block but definitely lower than average.  I was actually surprised how well the Toshiba performed when compared head-to-head to a performance notebook considering that huge price difference. This notebook is perfect for the casual or business computer user.
The entire time I was working on this review I was thinking about what its intended use is. My conclusions are that this is a desktop replacement for the average user that just wants to surf the web, maybe watch a DVD and perform basic office functions like word processing and spreadsheets. No gaming allowed other than solitaire or mahjong. I would buy this computer for my wife but I need a little more.

Designed for those looking for a big 17-inch screen at a reasonable price, the P205-S6287 features a spacious hard drive, ample RAM, and all the multimedia amenities we've come to expect from the Satellite series. If you're looking for a Vista notebook that will satisfy most of your productivity and entertainment needs, this is a solid choice. Just don't expect a barn burner.

The good: The Toshiba Satellite P205-S6287 laptop has a decent performance for the price; attractive design; movie-friendly display; comfortable keyboard and well-designed touch pad; lightweight for a desktop replacement. The bad: Lousy battery life; large company logo on lid is off-putting; lacks Bluetooth option. The bottom line: The 17-inch Toshiba Satellite P205-S6287 desktop replacement laptop backs up its good looks with a competitive mix of components for the price. We just wish its battery life were longer.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950: L’Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 est une carte graphique intégrée à la carte mère sur les chipsets Mobile Intel 945GM. c’est une version accélérée de la GMA 900.

Ses cartes graphiques ne sont pas faites pour le jeu. Et même si ils tournent, ce sera avec des erreurs d'affichage et un framerate ignoble. Ce cartes graphique sont totalement incompatible avec les joueurs! les applications de bureau et d'Internet, ne sont pas un problème pour ces cartes graphiques.

Intel Core 2 Duo:

C'est le successeur du Core Duo avec des pipelines 5-20% plus rapides sans consommation supplémentaire. Comme une addition à la conception du core duo là existe un quatrième décodeur, une SSE-unité amplifiée et une unité logique arithmétique additionnelle (ALU). Le core 2 duo pour ordinateurs portables est identique aux processeurs de core 2 duo d'ordinateur de bureau mais les portables fonctionnent avec des tensions inférieures et une vitesse de Frontside. L'exécution des portables également synchronisés est 20-25% inférieure à des ordinateur de bureau en raison de fréquence d’horloge inférieure de Frontside et plus lents de disques durs.
