Well, here we are. The final verdict. The Poco F7 Pro is a pretty decent phone. It carries over many good things from the Ultra model, such as the great screen and the decent main camera. But it also makes some sacrifices, featuring a year-old chipset and a pretty mediocre ultrawide camera. Oh, and there's no wireless charging on board. Then again, the phone comes with a 6,000 mAh battery and offers amazing battery life, and the overall aesthetics are also quite pleasing. At the end of the day, the price tag is the main drawback of this model. At 599 euros (just 100 down from the Ultra model), the sacrifices are too many to justify the cost. You can get a OnePlus 13R or wait for the upcoming Pixel 9a and probably get a better bang for your bucks.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 offers ridiculous performance for the price, the 2K AMOLED screen is simply gorgeous, and battery life is top-tier. Add in 90W charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, and some smart AI features, and you’ve got one of the most well-rounded phones at this end of the market. Sure, the ultrawide camera is basic, there’s some bloatware to remove, and I would love to see a brighter display that you can actually use outdoors – but these are nitpicks in the face of what you’re getting overall. With such an aggressive price, I think that the F7 Pro is one of the best value buys of 2025. If you care more about everyday speed, battery, and visuals than bleeding-edge camera features, the Poco F7 Pro is the phone to beat. Just be sure that the more expensive Poco F7 Ultra wouldn’t suit you better.

What makes it such a good phone is that it stays true to Poco’s roots – it’s fantastic value – and while the camera is excellent for Poco, it's just competitive in its class, though as a package, the F7 Ultra is one of the easiest phones to recommend right now. Gamers will love the price-to-performance of the Ultra. It feels premium, has a great screen, and packs double the starting storage of the Galaxy S25, plus more RAM, not to mention plenty of software value adds too, which help offset the, at times, busy HyperOS interface. It’s also excellent to see Poco take its camera so far forward by including a versatile telephoto camera.

It’s superb value for money and delivers a gaming and productivity experience that’s up there with the best phones on the market. It’s only really the cameras that aren’t quite flagship-level. They’re still quite good, and certainly better than most gaming phones, but won’t match handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra or Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Otherwise, the screen, battery life and charging speeds are all top notch. It’s a pleasure to use, and so long as you’re not too picky with your photos, you’re in for an excellent time.

In the end, I’m a bit torn with the Poco F7 Ultra. Yes, it’s Poco’s most powerful phone to date, and it has a strong spec sheet. But I don’t think it lives up to that promise of an ‘Ultra’ phone in the way Poco would like you to think. For one, its processor feels like it’s underclocked compared to other Snapdragon 8 Elite phones like the OnePlus 13 and Honor Magic 7 Pro. The 120W charging speeds don’t seem to refill the phone as quickly as it should, and the camera system is inconsistent, and not as strong as what you’d find in the more expensive ‘Ultra’ phones. That’s without mentioning the Wi-Fi connectivity issues I experienced during testing. Still, it delivers on the typical Poco benchmarks.

Alternatives at this cost include OPPO's Reno 13 Pro 5G (see review next week!), the Nothing Phone 2 and Apple's iPhone 16e. But seriously, don't buy that. It's arse juice. The Poco F7 Ultra is a powerhouse with that 8 Elite chipset, so gamers will enjoy a smooth frame rate at all times. Battery life is also excellent, even if the capacity isn't a match for the Redmi K80 Pro. With 120W fast charge on board, this phone powers back up in a crazy short time. As for the camera tech, well, the Poco F7 Ultra has made some sacrifices there vs proper 'Ultra' smartphones. The zoom lens isn't as capable, while you can't shoot 4K video with the selfie camera. Still, most people should be happy enough with the Poco F7 Ultra's skills.

On pourra principalement lui reprocher quelques faiblesses en photo, mais l'essentiel est assuré et la plupart des utilisateurs n'y trouveront probablement pas beaucoup à redire. Les tests des smartphones POCO se suivent et se ressemblent. Jamais vilains, toujours un peu extraordinaires sur un certain aspect, on leur pardonne systématiquement leurs plus gros défaut sur l’autel du rapport qualité-prix. Le dernier rejeton de l’écurie Xiaomi ne fait pas exception. Porté par un écran éblouissant, et plus encore par des performances stellaires (équivalentes au Nothing Phone (3)), il ne dérape vraiment nulle part, si ce n’est avec sa partie photo qui manque un peu de polyvalence. Mais que ce soit pour son support logiciel, ou encore son autonomie, le POCO F7 est un nouveau pari réussi pour la filiale de Xiaomi. Dommage que le rythme de sortie de la marque empêche de l’apprécier à sa juste valeur — qui sait quelle nouvelle référence l’éclipsera dans deux ou trois mois ?

Les tests des smartphones POCO se suivent et se ressemblent. Jamais vilains, toujours un peu extraordinaires sur un certain aspect, on leur pardonne systématiquement leurs plus gros défaut sur l’autel du rapport qualité-prix. Le dernier rejeton de l’écurie Xiaomi ne fait pas exception. Porté par un écran éblouissant, et plus encore par des performances stellaires (équivalentes au Nothing Phone (3)), il ne dérape vraiment nulle part, si ce n’est avec sa partie photo qui manque un peu de polyvalence. Mais que ce soit pour son support logiciel, ou encore son autonomie, le POCO F7 est un nouveau pari réussi pour la filiale de Xiaomi. There are several reasons the Poco F7 is an absolute cracker. Battery capacity has to be chief among them (even if the real-world results currently underwhelm), alongside the 90W fast charge and supplied charger. Then there’s the excellent display that pushes the boundary of what you can expect from a phone at this price point. It's cheaper than all of the above and gets the basics right, so if you don't mind the aforementioned cons, you can get a lot out of this guy.

Gaming performance is respectable on the POCO F7 although the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 does heat up under a bit of pressure, when playing Wuthering Waves. Likewise, Xiaomi's HyperOS isn't for everyone and features like eSIM support are missing. However, for a budget-friendly mid-range price in the UK, Xiaomi's POCO F7 has a lot going for it. That AMOLED screen is a stunner and the design is an improvement on the Pro and Ultra, I reckon. Just go for the white rather than silver limited edition model if you hate fingerprints. The POCO F7's camera setup is limited, especially vs the Ultra or the Nothing Phone 3a duo. No telephoto zoom, just a basic ultra-wide shooter, that's it. All the same, you'll get good looking photos in most conditions, especially if you take your time and grab a couple of snaps just in case.

Xiaomi:

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

Qualcomm Adreno 750:

Puce graphique pour smartphones et tablettes intégrée au SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Qualcomm affirme qu'il est 25 % plus rapide que l'Adreno 7340 dans le Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 et les premiers benchmarks montrent que le GPU peut battre l'iGPU Apple A17 Pro.

Qualcomm Adreno 830: Unité graphique intégrée dans le SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite pour smartphones avec trois tranches de 1,1 GHz chacune. Cache partagé intégré de 12 Mo pour les trois tranches. Selon Qualcomm, 40% plus rapide que la génération précédente (Adreno 750).

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8:

SD 8 Gen 3: SoC haut de gamme pour smartphones présenté fin 2022 avec un noyau principal rapide basé sur une architecture ARM Cortex-X3 cadencée à 3,2 GHz. Deux autres cœurs de performance sont basés sur l'A715 et ne prennent en charge que les applications 64 bits. Les deux autres cœurs A710 prennent également en charge les applications 32 bits, tout comme les cœurs Cortex-A510 à économie d'énergie. En plus des cœurs de processeur, le SoC intègre un modem WiFi 7, un DSP Hexagon (pour l'accélération de l'IA) et un ISP Spectra. Le contrôleur de mémoire intégré prend en charge la mémoire rapide LPDDR5x jusqu'à 4 200 MHz. la 5G est incluse dans la puce avec le modem Snapdragon X70.

SD 8 Elite: SoC (System on a Chip) haut de gamme pour smartphones présenté fin 2024. Il intègre deux cœurs rapides Oryon Gen 2 Prime Cores pouvant atteindre 4,32 GHz et 6 cœurs plus petits Oryon Gen 2 Performance Cores pouvant atteindre 3,53 GHz.
