La Honor MagicPad 2 se présente comme une tablette abordable, encore plus avec les promotions récurrentes. Toutefois, un prix bas ne permet pas de pardonner tous les faux pas, et cette tablette en présente quelques-uns. De manière générale, cela reste un produit équilibré, qui s'assure de ne pas présenter une grande faiblesse dans un domaine en particulier. L'écran est bon dans l'ensemble, mais manque de luminosité. Les performances sont correctes et suffisantes, malgré des lacunes pour du gaming sur la durée. Le design est agréable, mais trompeur pour le consommateur, qui croira à la présence de plusieurs capteurs photos. Enfin, la qualité photo est correcte, sauf pour les photos de nuit. C'est un produit équilibré, mais imparfait et dont les défauts seront plus ou moins important selon les usages de chacun.

Je ne vais pas tourner autour du pot : mon expérience quotidienne avec une tablette Android s’est révélée étonnamment agréable. “Étonnamment” parce que les a priori autour de ces appareils sont encore bien ancrés, y compris (je l’admets), chez les journalistes et influenceurs Tech. Mea culpa. En réalité, la MagicPad 2 est capable d’accomplir tout ce que fait mon iPad Air et plus encore. Elle s’est révélée finalement plus confortable pour le multitâche, le divertissement ou encore le jeu. Une bonne surprise qui me réconcilie définitivement avec les tablettes Android. Malheureusement, je ne me sens pas encore capable de remplacer complètement mon MacBook par une tablette Android. D’abord pour des questions d’écosystème puisque j’utilise un bon paquet d’appareils Apple au quotidien.

Generally speaking, I like the Honor MagicPad 4. It’s a superbly put together all-round productivity tablet. It’s fast, the screen is beautiful and battery life is excellent. You even get a selection of reasonably useful software tools included – I particularly liked the ability to share files quickly with an iPhones, MacBooks and iPads. Is it a superior tablet than the iPad Pro? No, but it is a lot cheaper and the hardware is competitive. Is it better value than cheaper Android-based tablets such as the just-launched Xiaomi Pad 8? Not really, but it is a faster perfomer, it’s lighter and thinner, and it has a larger, more luxurious OLED display. In the end, however, it really depends what you want.

Instead, Honor has equipped its tablet with a gorgeous panel that instantly makes it a great choice for telly addicts. The fact it’s so astonishingly thin is a bonus. I’d still like to see Honor do its own thing on the software front, rather than borrow so liberally from Apple’s Liquid Glass, and with no backlight or floating hinge the optional keyboard lacks a bit of the Xiaomi Pad 8’s wow factor. Android still wouldn’t be my first pick for a tablet meant to get serious work done, either. For sheer entertainment value, though, you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck here.

It is exceptionally portable, the 12.3-inch 165Hz OLED is excellent for reading and media, and the eight-speaker setup helps it feel more immersive than most thin tablets. With the keyboard attached, PC Mode and floating windows make it feel closer to a small laptop than a typical Android tablet. The compromises are more about the physical keyboard experience and long-term ownership than the software itself. The keyboard is convenient and flexible, but the shallow key travel and slightly wobbly lap use remind you that it is still a tablet-first setup. Honor also does not say much about sustainability, and the promised two major OS updates and four years of security patches are not class-leading, so it is worth weighing if you plan to keep the tablet for many years.

Honor has pulled the covers from its latest Android tablet, the MagicPad 4. Billed as “the world’s slimmest tablet”, the MagicPad 4 looks to be a significant improvement over its predecessor the MagicPad 3 – one of our favourite Android tablets of 2025. I’ll be in Barcelona covering Mobile World Congress (MWC) in a few days time, where I’ll hopefully have the chance to see this super-slim tablet in the flesh. In the meantime, however, here’s everything we know so far about the Honor MagicPad 4.

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

Qualcomm Adreno 735: Puce graphique pour smartphones et tablettes, intégrée au SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.

Qualcomm Adreno 750:

Puce graphique pour smartphones et tablettes intégrée au SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Qualcomm affirme qu'il est 25 % plus rapide que l'Adreno 7340 dans le Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 et les premiers benchmarks montrent que le GPU peut battre l'iGPU Apple A17 Pro.

Qualcomm Adreno 840: Unité graphique intégrée dans le SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 pour smartphones avec trois tranches à 1,2 GHz chacune. Selon Qualcomm, elle est 23 % plus rapide que celle de la génération précédente (Adreno 830).

Qualcomm Adreno 829: Unité graphique intégrée dans le SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 pour smartphones. Elle intègre deux clusters et un cache de 2 Mo et tourne à une fréquence maximale de 1225 MHz.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8:

SD 8s Gen 3: SoC (System on a Chip) haut de gamme pour smartphones présenté en 2024. Il intègre notamment un "Prime Core" Cortex-X4 rapide pouvant atteindre 3 GHz et 4 autres cœurs Cortex-A720 rapides de 2,8 GHz. Pour économiser de l'énergie, 3 cœurs ARM Cortex-A520 supplémentaires cadencés à 2,3 GHz ont également été installés. Un modem 5G, le WiFi 7 et un moteur d'intelligence artificielle nettement plus rapide sont intégrés.

SD 8 Gen 3: SoC haut de gamme pour smartphones présenté fin 2022 avec un noyau principal rapide basé sur une architecture ARM Cortex-X3 cadencée à 3,2 GHz. Deux autres cœurs de performance sont basés sur l'A715 et ne prennent en charge que les applications 64 bits. Les deux autres cœurs A710 prennent également en charge les applications 32 bits, tout comme les cœurs Cortex-A510 à économie d'énergie. En plus des cœurs de processeur, le SoC intègre un modem WiFi 7, un DSP Hexagon (pour l'accélération de l'IA) et un ISP Spectra. Le contrôleur de mémoire intégré prend en charge la mémoire rapide LPDDR5x jusqu'à 4 200 MHz. la 5G est incluse dans la puce avec le modem Snapdragon X70.
