Le Huawei P50 Pocket est le téléphone pliable que la France attendait, ce qui porte le nombre de modèles pliable horizontalement à deux (avec le Z Flip 3 de Samsung). Bien que ses composants fassent partie des meilleurs du marché, ce P50 Pocket n’a pas réalisé les meilleurs benchmarks comparés à ses homologues. La température à tendance à augmenter rapidement lors d’une utilisation normale, ce qui peut poser problème. Le public visé est plutôt haut de gamme, de par son prix très élevé. Cependant, son design est plus que remarquable. Ses finitions sont très bien réalisées et il se démarque vraiment de ses concurrents sur cet aspect. Autre point négatif, l’embargo avec les États-Unis qui limite vraiment les capacités de ce téléphone. Enfin, le P50 Pocket reste très impressionnant avec son esthétique très originale ainsi que des nouveautés intéressantes comme le second écran disposé sur la face arrière. Sa capacité de stockage s’élevant à 516 Go (extensible avec une carte micro-SD) est aussi très appréciable. On notera aussi que la pliure reste très remarquable au toucher, mais presque invisible à l’œil.

Techniquement, le P50 Pocket ne manque pas d'atouts : conception soignée, écrans de qualité, performances au rendez-vous, volet photo à la hauteur et autonomie confortable. Mais le soft embarqué par le smartphone est moins bien pensé que celui que l'on retrouve sur le Z Flip 3 de Samsung. Par ailleurs, il est toujours amputé des services de Google et n'est pas compatible 5G. Compte tenu de tous ces points négatifs et de son prix, le Huawei P50 Pocket est difficilement recommandable.

Le Galaxy S22 Ultra est un téléphone d’excellence. Techniquement parfait, il réussit à satisfaire sur beaucoup de segments, que ce soit au niveau de l’écran, de l’autonomie ou de la photo. Plus encore, il apporte quelque chose en plus avec le S-Pen, ce qui en fait le digne héritier du Galaxy Note. On peut toutefois reprocher à Samsung son manque d’innovation par rapport à la version S21, ou alors un processeur Exynos 2200 très décevant, mais dans l’ensemble, le produit est une réussite. Le S22 Ultra est aujourd’hui l’un des meilleurs smartphones Android du marché, tout simplement. A vous de voir si vous avez réellement besoin du S-Pen.

Alors, faut-il acheter ou non ce P50 Pocket ? Premièrement, il faut avoir au minimum 1300 euros à dépenser. Si c'est votre cas, vous pourriez vous laisser séduire par le sublime design du smartphone et son format compact une fois plié. Les performances, l'écran, l'autonomie et le module photo jouent également en sa faveur. Huawei a vraiment mis les petits plats dans les grands pour démontrer tout son savoir-faire technologique. Vous le voyez venir, il y a un "mais". Il y en a même plusieurs. Lorsqu'on achète un produit à ce prix, on veut faire le moins de compromis possible. Malheureusement, le P50 Pocket en fait pas mal. Il faudra faire sans la 5G, sans la recharge sans fil, sans étanchéité et sans les services Google. Si tous les points que nous venons de citer sont secondaires pour vous, alors vous ne regretterez pas votre choix. Pour les autres, passez votre chemin. Le Huawei P50 Pocket est une prouesse technologique doublée d'un excellent smartphone pliant. Mais son prix et ses nombreux compromis en font un produit à ne pas mettre dans toutes les poches.

Le smartphone pliant Huawei P50 Pocket coche beaucoup de cases dont celles d’un design réellement sublime, des qualités de fabrication et d’assemblage indéniables, un écran externe pratique, réactif et un autre bien plus grand, en interne, proposant une excellente qualité même si on peut reprocher au deuxième de montrer un peu trop son pli, mais ayant une excellente ergonomie générale malgré tout. Ajoutez à cela des performances photo de très haut niveau, une autonomie satisfaisante et une charge rapide. La puissance est également au rendez-vous même si elle est moindre que sur le Galaxy Z Flip3 de Samsung qui présente aussi l’avantage d’être certifié étanche, 5G et surtout embarquant les services Google, là où le P50 Pocket doit se mettre à l’abri des gouttes, ne peut accéder qu’à la 4G et doit faire fi de l’environnement connecté du géant américain.

Quelle surprise que ce nouveau P50 Pocket alors qu’on s’attendait à un simple P50. On découvre à quel point les constructeurs chinois ont bien étudié la question avant de se lancer et ont bien appris des erreurs de Samsung et Motorola au début. Le Huawei P50 Pocket, en dehors de la partie Google, est un excellent smartphone avec un design à clapet des plus réussis. Certains lui reprocheront son côté un peu trop féminin, mais on a adoré ce design, surtout avec cette charnière si souple et agréable au quotidien. Mais ce n’est pas tout puisque le smartphone est performant et propose une autonomie plus que correcte, surtout quand on le compare à son concurrent direct. Et parce que c’est un smartphone de la gamme P, la photo n’est pas en reste avec un excellent bloc photo auquel il ne manque qu’un vrai téléphoto comme son grand frère, le P50 Pro. Maintenant, tout va dépendre de la dépendance que le futur utilisateur par rapport à Google, surtout à ce prix ultra premium (-1 sur la note finale).

D’un point de vue purement matériel, le P50 Pocket s’impose comme le smartphone pliant à clapet le plus séduisant du marché. Si l’absence de recharge sans fil nous chagrine, elle est largement compensée par sa très bonne autonomie, son excellente qualité photo et sa conception résolument haut de gamme. Huawei a su répondre aux principaux reproches que l’on fait habituellement aux modèles pliants : autonomie faible, pliure perceptible, appareil photo moyen. Malheureusement, l’embargo américain rend ne lui facilite pas la tâche. Il ne peut intégrer la 5G (pour l’instant, Huawei travaillant à sa propre solution), ce qui est préjudiciable en 2022. L’absence des services Google fait encore cruellement défaut pour prétendre répondre aux attentes du grand public, les services Huawei n’étant pas encore arrivés à maturité. En commercialisant le P50 Pocket à 1300 euros (version blanche) et 1600 euros (version Premium), Huawei ne se simplifie pas la vie. Bravo pour la performance artistique, mais il faudra encore attendre un peu pour que l’on conseille un tel produit les yeux fermés.

There still remains some issues though, with the lack of 5G support and slightly older processor compared to what is on the market currently raising some questions. Add to this the divisive HMS and App Gallery experience and the Huawei P50 Pocket looks great, but may not be able to fully deliver the premium foldable experience that consumers are hoping for. It is another example, much like the Mate 40 Pro, of Huawei having to deal with elements that are outside of its control, but ultimately impact the quality of the device that ends up in customer’s hands.

The Huawei P50 Pocket is one of the most striking phones I've used, with a phenomenal design, better battery life than the competition, a capable camera system, and excellent ecosystem features for owners of other Huawei devices. Considering the quality of the hardware and the strengths of Huawei's design, the P50 Pocket feels like a more reasonable proposition at its (admittedly high) starting price. But it falls victim to many of the same pitfalls as its flatter cousin, the P50 Pro: It uses a year-old chip without 5G connectivity, and software headaches persist if you use Google services — or indeed any Android apps that rely on Google's Android software layer. The Z Flip 3 remains the 'default' flip phone purchase, but the P50 Pocket is worth a look. It isn't going to replace the Galaxy Z Flip 3 as the "default" purchase in this particular category, particularly considering the price premium you'll pay compared to the Samsung device. But for the right person — someone who cares about design, wants a big display in a small size, and isn't bought into the Google ecosystem...

Can you live without Google Maps and Netflix on mobile? Pocket doesn't have them. Do you game a lot? A SD888 would always run hot, but it's particularly troubled inside the Pocket. Do foldables make you uneasy because they'll break when you so much as look at them? The lack of an IP rating on the Pocket isn't going to help. You insist on having 5G (for whatever reason)? Not in your Pocket, no. There are plenty of reasons why the Pocket is a bad idea, but there's a Pros list too. Fascinating in principle, foldables can be somewhat utilitarian (like Samsung's) or sexy (like this one). And both current Samsungs seem to compromise this or that so as to fit a budget and not to cannibalize other models in the lineup - Huawei doesn't seem to be overly worried about either with the Pocket. The concessions Samsung had to make for the Flip to happen, we think, are camera and design. Those are precisely the two aspects in which Huawei has made the superior Flip - the Pocket is the better-looking of the two and also the better cameraphone.

The HUAWEI P50 Pocket is probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing devices I have looked at, with its beautiful 3D crosshatch pattern that helps set it apart from other flagships in the market. The main display is great as well, with a very mild crease. Speaking of which, the hinge seems to only wants to open flat or close shut, with it not exactly wanting to stay open in the popular 90° open angle. For RM5999, the HUAWEI P50 Pocket is well in the “very expensive” category of gadgets, all things considered. For two-thirds of the money, you could get a comparable foldable. While it may not have the gapless hinge design, sweet symmetrical holes on the lid and also the rather impressive camera setup of the HUAWEI P50 Pocket, for that much less money, I think it’s pretty obvious what people will go with… I personally prefer larger foldables like the HUAWEI Mate X series, but hey, if you want something more pocketable than your current smartphone or just something fancier, I guess the HUAWEI P50 Pocket is the device to look at.

Huawei has put together some fantastic hardware here, with a hinge mechanism that’s beyond Samsung’s best efforts, solid battery life, and a powerful camera setup. There are minor niggles – I don’t love the shiny finishes and it’s a shame that Huawei couldn’t match the Z Flip 3’s waterproofing and wireless charging – but ultimately the big problem remains that there’s no 5G connectivity and no support for core Google apps and services. At a cut-throat price it might make sense to sacrifice those, but when the closest competitor is cheaper and more fully-featured, the P50 Pocket is a very hard sell. More than anything else, that’s a shame. Huawei has knocked it out of the park here, and it’s only forces outside the company’s control that hold the P50 Pocket back.

In mainland China, Malaysia, and parts of Hong Kong, Huawei is seen as a luxury brand whose gadgets are a notch above other Chinese manufacturers. “Huawei is considered the Rolex of mobile phones by Chinese people,” a popular phone importer in Hong Kong told me few months ago, when I expressed surprise that all his China model P50 Pros were sold out on day one. Some people will buy Huawei products even if it’s more expensive, even if it doesn’t have Google.

Huawei P50 Pocket is the foldable version of the Huawei P50 that was released in December 2021, and the expected price of this foldable phone is around $1,412 (Rs 1,05,499 in India) approx. Although, there aren’t any competitive edge seen in this phone since compare to the Samsung foldable smartphone. But, the foldable 6.9-inches OLED panel provides immersive colors and 120 Hz refresh support, while colors and saturation are pretty decent. The phone also features a side-mounted fingerprint. In terms of the processing powers, the phone relies on the Snapdragon 888 4G chipset. Yes, Huawei P50 Pocket didn’t support the 5G band. Hopefully, the HarmonyOS 2.0 gives a fresh breeze compared to the regular Android OS. As for the camera section, you are getting a triple camera setup including the 40MP primary, 13MP ultrawide, and 32MP secondary camera that can easily provide 4K video recording. At the same time, the 10.7 MP selfie camera also renders decent photos and videos.

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.
