EN→FRProfessional workstations like the ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 are invariably expensive because of the engineering needed to be ISV-certified, and professionals who rely on them to get paid can justify the price to gain the highest possible level of reliability. They’re not always the fastest options unless you’re using an application that takes direct advantage of the capabilities of a specific component. The ThinkPad P16 is definitely very expensive, and it’s likely very reliable for that select group of buyers. The performance of the commercial GPU is also really impressive. But it’s also almost unreasonably thick and heavy, and it’s not that much faster than less-costly alternatives (or at all). Meanwhile, the display on my review unit was very disappointing. Even those who demand ISV certification can likely find a better alternative.

In our book, its superior keyboard outweighs the higher storage capacity of its superheavyweight rival, the HP ZBook Fury G11. (If you need more than 4TB, get an external Thunderbolt 4 drive array.) Only one of the two can claim our Editors' Choice award in the unlimited class, and HP's DreamColor display and Wolf Security suite narrowly favor the ZBook. Still, the P16 is a spectacularly compelling alternative.

NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada Generation Laptop:
Une carte graphique professionnelle très puissante destinée aux ordinateurs portables dotée de 7 424 cœurs CUDA et de 12 Go de VRAM ECC GDDR6. Créé en 2023, cet adaptateur graphique exploite le processus 5 nm (4N) de TSMC et l'architecture Ada Lovelace de Nvidia pour obtenir d'excellentes performances combinées à une consommation d'énergie modérée. Sur le plan matériel, le RTX 4000 est un GeForce RTX 4080 (ordinateur portable) déguisé ; par conséquent, il utilise la même puce AD103 et aura peu de difficultés à exécuter des jeux triple-A en QHD 1440p.
Ces cartes graphiques devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux récents (avec quelques exceptions) en haute résolution avec un bon niveau de détail.
