The MSI Raider GE78 HX is a beast of a gaming laptop with top-of-the-line specs across the board. It’s a straight-up improvement over its predecessor and our best-performing gaming laptop of 2023. It features a retro aesthetic which might not be for everyone, but it’s subtle enough in our opinion other than the 8-bit pixel RGB lighting on the base. While it features good built quality and overall design, we were a bit disappointed when compared with other laptops in this price segment, especially the keyboard which feels very cramped. However, if it’s pure performance you’re chasing, this is the best we’ve tested to date. The MSI Raider GE78 HX is the best-performing gaming laptop we tested in 2023, managing to outperform even the earlier iteration of the 2023 MSI GT77 Titan.

The MSI Vector GP78 HX (13V) is almost a perfect gaming machine. It has a stable build that is made mostly of metal. The design is stealthier and cleaner compared to the GE78 model. The input devices are very good. The per-key RGB SteelSeries keyboard comes with tons of customization options and it’s cozy for both typing and gaming. The touchpad is fast and accurate. The optional 1600p 2400Hz display (AUO B170QAN01.2 (AUO84A6)) is bright and it covers fully the sRGB and DCI-P3 gamuts. It also becomes very color-accurate when our Gaming and Web design profile is applied. The base score of 2.4 is okay, but thanks to our “magic”, the average dE value is 0.8 and that is awesome! You can use the display for professional photo and video editing as well as for content creation. The panel has quick pixel response times and it’s PWM-free so you can use it for long hours of gaming. The performance is definitely the cherry on top.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU:

Carte graphique haut de gamme pour ordinateur portable basée sur l'architecture Ada Lovelace. Elle offre 16 Go de VRAM GDDR6 avec un bus mémoire de 256 bits et peut être configurée avec un TDP de 80 à 150 (+ Dynamic Boost). 

Ces cartes graphiques devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux récents (avec quelques exceptions) en haute résolution avec un bon niveau de détail.

i9-13980HX: CPU mobile de la série Raptor Lake qui offre 24 cœurs (8 cœurs de performance, 16 cœurs d'efficacité) avec un cœur Boost allant jusqu'à 5,8 GHz pour les cœurs P. Similaire au i9-13900K de bureau, mais avec des vitesses d'horloge et un TDP réduits.
