Samsung has announced updates to its Galaxy Book Pro laptop range at MWC 2022, but new features look fairly thin on the ground. Launching alongside the 360-degree convertible, the 2022 Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro is extremely thin and light, just like last year’s Galaxy Book, and comes with a Full HD OLED display, again the same as last year. It still comes in 13.3in and 15.6in screen sizes and you can choose between graphite or silver colourways. The 2022 Book2 Pro models are lighter and slimmer, but only by a tiny amount. The 13.3in model weighs a mere 0.87kg and measures 11.2mm thick, while the 15.6in version comes in at a scarcely believable 1.11kg and measures 11.7mm thick. In fact, if you were to compare the 2022 and 2021 Galaxy Book Pro side by side by side you’d struggle to tell the difference. From the images Samsung has so far supplied, they look pretty much identical to the previous models. The main changes are invisible to the naked eye.

Samsung makes some drool-worthy smartphones and now that we got a taste of the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro, we can say the same confidently for its laptops too. The Galaxy Book 2 Pro is unbelievably lightweight and easy to handle, has oodles of performance to offer for regular folks, offers an amazing display, and has got all the necessary ports to get some work done. For a laptop costing just above Rs. 1 lakh, these form a good specifications sheet. That said, there are areas where the Galaxy Book 2 Pro falls behind its competition. The keyboard isn’t pleasant to use on the long run, and the battery life is average at best. The aggressive power management slows things and considering the Core i7 variant, Samsung could have offered an NVIDIA MX series GPU to enable decent editing and creative work. At Rs. 1,14,990, the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro gets competition from the 13-inch Dell XPS, which we consider the benchmark for Windows notebooks.

Si on attendait Samsung plus vindicatif sur son retour dans le marché français, le Galaxy Book 2 n'est pas un PC portable décevant. Il est juste une bonne machine dans la continuité de ce que Samsung continue de proposer depuis des années partout dans le monde. Il n'est pas le « MacBook killer » que certains ont pu fantasmer. Dans son environnement, face aux Huawei Matebook Pro, Dell XPS 13 et autres Asus Zenbook, il n'est juste pas assez différent et souffre de quelques défauts un peu gênant en 2022.

Samsung: Le groupe Samsung est le plus grand conglomérat sud-coréen et a été fondé en 1938. Le groupe Samsung employait 489 000 personnes en 2014 et est l'une des plus grandes entreprises au monde en termes de chiffre d'affaires et de force de marché. Le nom Samsung signifie "Trois étoiles" en coréen et représente les trois fils du fondateur de l'entreprise. L'entreprise a été fondée en 1938 en tant qu'épicerie. Avec sa filiale Samsung Electronics, fondée en 1969, Samsung s'est lancé très tôt dans la production d'articles électrotechniques, en se concentrant sur l'électronique grand public et l'électroménager. Un processeur de milieu de gamme de la famille Alder Lake de 28 W comprenant 4 cœurs de performance et 8 cœurs efficaces. Ce SoC est conçu pour être utilisé dans les ordinateurs portables ultra-légers.
