The Aspire M Touch is a sleek-looking laptop, and there’s no doubt about that. Some of the design elements are a bit wonky, though. For example, most of the important ports that you need to get to are all located on the back, save for the headphone/microphone jack and the SD card slot. It makes sense to have the power port and the HDMI port on the back, that way you have cables sticking out from the sides, but having all the USB ports located on the back of the laptop is just a plain nuisance. However despite the low travel of the keyboard keys and the plastic trackpad, using both actually wasn’t too bad; it was certainly a better experience than other Windows laptops that I’ve played with, so I can’t complain too much in that respect.

WIRED Decent weight for a 14-inch laptop at 4.4 pounds. Exemplary battery life for its class. Quite slim for an optical drive-equipped laptop. TIRED Touchy touchpad. Front-mounted power button is prone to accidental presses. All ports are rear-mounted. Extremely weak LCD. Some general bugginess during daily use.

All said and done, the Acer Aspire M Touch is a solidly built laptop with very good specs. It provides satisfying performance in both daily usage and some modern games without making too much noise and heat, and a decent battery life as well. Price wise it’s very hard to beat, and as we’ve seen from the Aspire S7 ultrabook, Acer seems to be turning a new leaf with their laptop design.

Acer Aspire M5-481PT is a new 14-inch Windows 8 touch screen laptop that has a solid metal chassis, a DVD disc drive, solid performance and good battery life all for a competitive price. The quality of the display could be better and we had some issues with the clickpad, which are both disappointing.

The Acer Aspire M5-481PT-6488 is an attractive Windows 8 Ultrabook in more ways than one. The brushed aluminum design gives this 14-inch laptop a premium vibe, as does the touch screen and high-quality speaker system. However, the M5 also has some blemishes, chief among them a touchpad that doesn't always cooperate.

Acer’s Aspire M5 Touch is a strong Ultrabook. It offers good battery life, an enjoyable user interface, and high build quality for a low price. Adding touch doesn’t add much to the experience but, well, it adds touch. This can be useful in certain situations and if the touchscreen works well when called upon.

Intel HD Graphics 4000:

Carte graphique intégrée aux processeurs de la génération Ivy Bridge. Possède des fréquences différentes selon les processeurs (du ULV au quad core de bureau) et donc des performances différentes.

La plupart des jeux pas trop demandants actuels peuvent tourner de façon fluide. soyez prêts à endurer un rendu graphique assez moche à cause de la basse résolution et des détails au minimum. Par ailleurs ces cartes sont suffisantes pour un travail de bureau et le visionnage de vidéos (pas évident pour la vidéo HD).
