I don't want to undermine the Flow Z13 because it's a truly excellent machine for a small set of people, largely due to the Strix Halo chip inside. I still wouldn't recommend it to most people right now. It's a device showcasing exciting new tech that swings for the fences, and Asus is largely successful in its efforts. But as is the case with being an early adopter of any new tech, I have a hard time believing the Flow Z13 will stand up to scrutiny in a few years' time. Once there are a wider array of devices, I imagine they'll not only be cheaper, but also come in different form factors so that you can truly have one device to replace several others.

Which brings us to the big question: pricing. ASUS is offering just one variant of the Flow Z13 in India, priced at ₹1,99,990. For context, the US market also gets a more powerful configuration with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and Radeon 8060S for $2,299.99 (roughly ₹1,97,400 when converted). While it would've been great to test that model as well, let's focus on the one we've got. It's clear that the Flow Z13 isn't built for the average user. This is a niche product, designed for enthusiasts who want desktop-grade performance in an ultra-portable, tablet-style chassis. And in that specific use case, it absolutely delivers. If portability and flexibility matter most, and you're after a machine that can handle a wide range of tasks with ease, the Flow Z13 definitely fits the bill.

Essentially, the Flow performs like an upper-midrange gaming laptop, but it’s priced like a firmly high-end laptop. You get a flashy display plus plenty of memory and storage—and some impressive engineering—but you can certainly find less expensive options out there. There is a niche crowd for whom the detachable tablet design is a huge draw; if you think may be in that niche, you should be sure a versatile tablet fits your mobility, convenience, and power needs more than a faster laptop with a larger screen. Outside of direct gaming-laptop comparisons, the Flow Z13 feels well made, works as intended, and offers a great deal of versatility. It has the processing power for productivity, a long-lasting battery, good connectivity, and a sharp, bright screen. This could function as a supercharged Surface Pro for gamers with big budgets.

As I said, one of the key selling points of the Asus ROG Flow Z13 2025 is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU residing inside it. It is the very foundation of the tablet laptop, a technical demonstration, and an engineering marvel of what gaming on integrated graphics should be. At the risk of throwing some shade, Intel should take a leaf out of the red team’s playbook on this. Once again, one of my gripes with the Flow Z13 2025 is that it isn’t as lightweight as I hoped it would be, seeing how Asus made up for that removal of components with a beefier cooling system for the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395. My other issue with it? While there is only one SKU this time, it costs a wallet-gouging RM10,999 fresh out of the oven. Even if you’re someone with lots of disposable income, that’s still really, really expensive. Beyond that, I’ll repeat a statement I said when I reviewed the ROG Zephyrus G15 all those years ago: the ROG Flow Z13 2025 absolutely slaps.

But all of that does not detract from the fact that the ROG Flow Z13 is an audacious, innovative experiment that largely succeeds. I do think it represents a genuine evolution in portable gaming as a 2-in-1 gaming device, thanks in large part to AMD’s great mobile silicon. It certainly won’t satisfy everyone, particularly hardcore gamers and I don’t think that’s the point or focus of ROG here anyway – it has the Zephyrus and Scar laptops for those audiences. But for gamers prioritising portability, thermal performance, and overall versatility, the Flow Z13 is a compelling – albeit niche – device in a market too often defined by incremental innovation.

Overall, the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is a premium device that delivers strong performance in a compact form factor. However, it’s not for everyone, especially because of its price. At PHP175,995, whether used as a tablet or a laptop, it’s definitely a big investment. Still, considering its feature set and portability, it might just be worth it. If you’re mainly into gaming, I’d recommend going for a traditional gaming laptop. But if you’re looking for an all-in-one device and budget isn’t an issue, then the ROG Flow Z13 is not a bad buy at all.

After spending roughly three weeks with the ROG Flow Z13, I've been pleasantly surprised by its power and efficiency. I'm not used to a device this small that can competently run modern, performance-intensive games so well. Asus' adoption of the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 has panned out impressively, especially when adding AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution. I would have loved to see Asus feature an OLED panel in the Flow Z13. As a fan of the color and contrast OLED screens offer, I wanted more from the ROG Flow Z13's LCD. However, that would understandably balloon the already steep $2,099 price tag and probably further limit battery life. While Asus' ROG Flow Z13 will likely be a premium purchase for most, if you can deal with its relatively low battery life and loud cooling, you won't be disappointed with how well the laptop-tablet handles your favorite PC games.

I quite enjoyed my month with this Asus ROG Flow Z13. It’s certainly a lot different than the average 2-in-1 computer; the “Surface-like” form factor has its own appeal and the performance is excellent for its size, both plugged-in and on battery power. On the other hand, I found this fairly chunky, especially for tablet use, and was disappointed with the audio and camera quality.

This Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a tablet computer format with a 13-inch IPS display and a keyboard folio. It's well built and compact and somewhat portable. The hardware and general performance and capabilities of this device are its biggest selling points, unmatched by most other platforms out there. Battery life isn't bad either, and pricing, while steep, is mostly fair for what you're getting. However, as a potential buyer, you'll have to decide whether you need this kind of sustained performance in this sort of 13-inch format, and especially whether a tablet chassis is ideal for your use cases.

It's sometimes very complicated to review expensive, luxury gaming devices like the Asus ROG Flow Z13 (2025) – because, on the one hand, I'm not sure I'd recommend that anyone actually buy it. A similarly-priced gaming laptop will likely get better performance, and be usable in a wider range of situations. However, none of that is the device's fault, and it does very much do what it says on the tin. After all, it's got a super-powerful CPU that performs admirably under strain, built-in graphics that are incredibly impressive on their own merits, and the ability to function as a standalone tablet when useful.

I wouldn’t, no. I’m just not in love with this Asus gaming tablet because I had to haul out an external keyboard or controller just to play with it. Either Asus should engineer a solution or else replace one of its headset/mouse/stylus combo with an external number pad. It’s 2025. Stop discriminating against lefties. Don’t get me wrong. The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a good tablet with a good processor inside. But many of our comparative laptops outperform the Z13 for hundreds less and those are at MSRP prices.

Yes, the 2025 ROG Flow Z13 doesn’t take a huge step forward in terms of gaming performance. Perhaps Asus will optimize the drivers and the Radeon graphics will get faster, but for now, you’re not going to see better gaming than the 2024 model. But that’s okay, because the portable gaming performance is still the best you’ll find in a tablet. And the ability to add a crazy-fast RTX 5090 when you’re stationary is an intriguing — if expensive — option for hardcore gamers. And if you want a tablet that will churn through demanding productivity and creative tasks, then the ROG Flow Z13 has you covered there, as well.

We are blown away by the extremely high performance of the ROG Flow Z13 GZ302. The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and its Radeon 8060S Graphics are an outstanding combination for heavy workloads, gaming, and content creation. The CPU scores more than 30K points in the multicore test of Cinebcnhr R23 which is on par with the result of the Core i9-13950HX which could be found mainly in huge gaming laptops. The iGPU could give the RTX 4060 a run for its money. It’s hard to find any downsides to the 13.4″ 1600p IPS panel (TL134ADXP03 (TMA0803)). The 180Hz screen covers the sRGB gamut at 99% and the color accuracy is suitable for professional usage when our “Design and Office” profile is applied. The PWM-free unit also impresses with its high max brightness of 528 nits and snappy pixel response times of just 6.0 ms.

The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is an ambitious gaming hybrid that packs laptop-class performance into a tablet form factor, but its execution is a mix of brilliance and compromise. It offers exceptional power with an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor and Radeon 8060S graphics, making it one of the most capable 2-in-1 devices for gaming, content creation, and even AI workloads.

The $2,999 price for the ROG Flow Z13 in Canada gives you a lot of value, but there’s no denying that it’s steep. If you want raw gaming capability from Asus, the 2025 ROG Strix 16 starts at $3,299 with a larger screen, faster RTX 5070 Ti GPU, and a 240Hz display. Other brands aren’t far off. But that’s not why you’d consider the Z13. This really is the “Surface Pro for gamers,” with the performance of a larger gaming laptop in a device you can fit on even smaller seatback trays. The Ryzen AI Max+ also makes it a very solid AI and content workstation. Just be ready to stay plugged in most of the time. My main concern is whether or not a tablet is the right form factor. I’d rather get AMD’s chip in a conventional laptop with room for a larger battery and a more lap-friendly design.

The ROG Flow Z13 is a tablet that’s also trying to be a hardcore gaming machine. It has a 13.4-inch, 180Hz IPS touchscreen with pen support, 32GB of unified memory (up to 128GB), a 1TB m.2 SSD, and ample port selection, starting at $2,099.99. The Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 APU in our $2,299.99 review unit offers surprisingly good gaming performance, especially for a tablet. And the detachable keyboard with larger keycaps and trackpad feels like it’s pulled directly from the excellent ROG Zephyrus laptops. It makes for a potent portable gaming device — one you can even use on your lap without your legs burning up.

The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is excellent in its individual parts, from its long battery life and incredible performance to its strong speakers and bright display. However, at its steep price, it can’t justify its price-to-performance ratio when its keyboard is unusable for gaming and it runs ridiculously hot. If you want something even more powerful with similar longevity at a cheaper price, then the Asus Zephyrus G14 is a great alternative. However, it’s tough to beat the size and portability of the Asus ROG Flow Z13. Artists will especially find great use in the Flow Z13, as long as they don’t burn themselves.

The 2025 Asus ROG Flow Z13 is the epitome of balance. I've talked about the idea of a dedicated graphics card becoming a thing of the past in laptops — an intersection point between power-hungry GPUs and integrated graphics where users get all the fidelity and frames per second they could possibly want without sacrificing too much battery life. It’s a controversial idea, and dedicated graphics will still be a thing for a long time to come. But the Flow Z13 is the first realization that this balance is actually possible. Asus has found the missing link between a gaming laptop and a PC gaming handheld — giving you the best of both worlds. And provided you play by AMD’s rules when it comes to ray tracing (honestly, you won’t miss it), you’re rewarded with a real workhorse by day and a AAA gaming mini monster by night.

On first inspection, the ROG Z13 Flow doesn’t do anything more to convince me gaming hybrids with external graphics are the future than its predecessor did. But it’s great to see Asus championing the form factor, while addressing a few of the previous version’s pain points. An improved keyboard, more effective cooling and ample connectivity should make it every bit as usable on the daily as a traditional 2-in-1, while the next-gen AMD internals will be better placed to handle games without having to fall back on the eGPU. Exact performance is a mystery until AMD and Nvidia spill the beans about their newest silicon, but I don’t doubt performance will be suitably epic.

Yes, I know that RTX 50-series is the biggest star of the show, and don’t get me wrong, I’m hyped. But I’ve gotta be real, I’m more excited about integrated graphics — six words I never thought I’d utter in my lifetime. Of course, I’ll save final thoughts about this for when we’ve properly benchmarked this system for ourselves to see whether my assumptions come correct. But with my time using the system, I’m feeling damn confident they will be. A couple years ago, I said the Asus ROG Flow Z13 needed some more time in the oven. And now, it’s come out looking like one of my top predicted picks for the best gaming laptop of 2025.
