The 3.2K tandem OLED screen is a joy to look at, the touchpad is there when you need it and not when you don't, and the keyboard might not be everyone's cup of tea, but that's okay. We often call the XPS 14 "the best 14-inch laptop," and that's easily carried over to the 16-inch model. It's the best laptop for Windows users at that size, with a MacBook Pro feel, but by forging its own path to get there.

Quelle joie de retrouver la gamme XPS d’une si jolie manière ! En déshérence tout au long de l'année 2025, l’ultraportable le plus emblématique de Dell revient dans une version plus intéressante et plus aboutie que jamais. C'est bien simple, (presque) tout est au point sur ce modèle 2026 : son nouveau châssis tutoie la perfection, ses finitions sont impeccables, son écran Tandem-OLED impose le respect et son autonomie est tout à fait en phase avec ce que l'on attend en 2026 d'un modèle de 14 pouces. Seule ombre au tableau, Dell a choisi sur ce modèle de privilégier le confort (chauffe et bruit parfaitement maîtrisés) à tout prix. Comprenez que les performances CPU en prennent un coup. Par chance, la puissance graphique de Panther Lake échappe totalement au coup de rabot ourdi par Dell, et l'équilibre trouvé avec ce produit demeure, dans son ensemble, tout à fait probant.

Est-ce que le Dell XPS 14 de 2026 est aussi séduisant que sur ces dernières années ? Bien sûr que oui. Il n'a pas vraiment bougé, n'a pas vraiment fait d'effort supplémentaire, et si l'on est honnête : il n'en avait pas besoin. Le design nous séduit toujours autant, quand le confort de son clavier et de son pavé tactile sont toujours garantis. Problème ? Une connectique toujours très "dongle life" avec uniquement des USB-C. Un ordinateur premium, mais un peu lourd pour sa catégorie. Un écran OLED sublime, mais en manque d'un peu de luminosité. Et une autonomie très bonne... pour la génération précédente. Dell offre donc un XPS 14 de 2026 terriblement compétent, mais plus aussi enthousiasmant qu'auparavant. Si vous priez déjà à l'église XPS, vous en serez bien heureux. Mais si vous considérez les forces de ses compétiteurs cette année, ses meilleurs arguments perdent en valeur rapidement.

Dell a soigné sa copie, redéfinissant le design de son ultraportable phare et en corrigeant les écueils des modèles précédents. Sa puce reste encore légèrement trop faible pour en faire une vraie station de travail tout-terrain, mais le PC portable garde assez de versatilité pour devenir un compagnon de choix — à condition de sortir le portefeuille, tant le ticket d'entrée est élevé. Si l'on a que peu d'intérêt pour Windows 11 et le jeu vidéo, le MacBook Air M5 d'Apple, encore lui, profite d'une construction tout aussi solide et de meilleurs performances de calcul brutes, avec en plus un tarif moitié moins cher. Le Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro se place quant à lui dans un segment tarifarie similaire, aevc néanmoins l'avantage d'une meilleure portabilité, même pour son format 16 pouces.

The Dell XPS 14 (2026) is a solid Windows ultrabook with a sharp, redesigned look, great battery life and a decent IPS screen. For the price, though, this base model cuts a fair few corners in terms of port selection, overall grunt and display quality against rivals that make it a little more difficult to recommend. For reference, the Asus Zenbook A14 (2026) costs the same price as the base model XPS 14 (2026) and provides even longer battery life, more power with its Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite processor, a more varied port selection and is some 400g lighter. The Acer Swift Edge 14 AI may have one of Intel’s last-gen Lunar Lake chips inside, but it’s just as brisk as this Dell choice, and has a stronger port selection, similar battery life and is also lighter. It makes the XPS 14 (2026) in this configuration a little harder to recommend than in one of the beefier options available, although then you have other pro-grade laptops to consider that may have it beaten on ports and other, smaller things. 80% If you've got money to burn, I found a near-perfect laptop

I don't see any reason to be against this laptop as it does a ton right. What you need to do is research what you want out of a laptop and make a decision from there. I would highly recommend combing the options on Dell's website to drop the price if you don't need everything the highest-end options have to offer. For example, I don't need anywhere close to 32 GB on a laptop, and I barely need that on my desktop PC. On the other hand, somebody doing a lot of video editing benefits from that. If you do end up getting this laptop, I have no doubt that you'll be impressed with what it has to offer. I give it a cautious recommendation based only on the fact that it's overkill for the casual person, even if you do cut some of the higher-end features. I wouldn't recommend this laptop to somebody looking to just casually surf the web. There are far cheaper options for people like that. This is a very good, lightweight laptop, and if it fits your needs, it won't let you down.

I hesitate to call a retail MSRP of $1,409.99 affordable, but in 2026 it’s definitely more of a mid-range price than it used to be. And the entry-level XPS 14 retains most of the perks found in more expensive configurations. It has a great haptic touchpad, lots of Thunderbolt connectivity, and a beautiful design. Intel’s Core Ultra 5 325 is a weakness at this price point, however. $1,400 is enough to snag a number of alternative laptops with AMD Ryzen 7/9 AI or Intel Core Series 7 chips, and most of these will have a significant advantage. The integrated GPU performance is more competitive but still not impressive.

With the XPS 14, Dell corrects many of the missteps it took with the previous 14 Premium. I love its sleek looks, solid feel and trim dimensions. And I love the fact that it's more than half a pound lighter than the tank that was the Dell 14 Premium. Dell must be feeling pretty proud about the XPS 14 because it slapped a premium price on this premium laptop. Apple does the same thing with its 14-inch MacBook Pro, but the M5 processor bested the Core Ultra X7 358H in the higher-end XPS 14 I tested with the OLED display. The two laptops make a great comparison because the OLED XPS 14 and M5 MacBook Pro we tested each cost $1,950. In this head-to-head, the MacBook Pro wins in terms of both power and efficiency, with better performance scores on nearly every test and longer battery life. And I still favor the MacBook Pro's overall design, even if it is a bit heavier. The XPS 14's return is a triumphant one overall, but the MacBook Pro is still the better premium laptop for creators.

Dell listened to its fans this year and brought back the XPS name. That's already a win, but a good thermal solution, powerful processors, and a chassis redesign that makes it even more futuristic seal the deal. It feels more MacBook Pro-ish than the tapered base of last year's Dell 14 Premium, offers plenty of battery life, and has good screens, whether you opt for IPS or OLED. If you need graphical prowess for content creation or gaming, go for the Core Ultra X7 358H, but the more affordable Core Ultra 7 355 is plenty for general computing tasks. And with more powerful processors, you also get an NPU for Copilot+. I know Dell apologized for how AI-centric last year's marketing was, but some of the features (especially the webcam ones) are things I use every day, and it feels weird when I use a laptop that doesn't have them. This is a superb laptop at any tier; it's just a shame that computer component pricing, as it is, might push it out of reach for many.

I personally didn’t lose much sleep over the XPS rebranding last year, the way many of my colleagues did, but I’m sure the XPS’s triumphant return from exile will make plenty of people happy. What I care far more about, though, is the redesign of these two laptops, particularly the Function keys and the trackpad. Those fixes alone make this the one laptop I’m most excited to test out in the next few weeks, and if Intel Panther Lake can live up to its hype, these two models just might be the laptops to buy in 2026.

It feels like only a year ago that Dell killed all branding on its laptops, telling journalists we were wrong when we almost universally told them they were crazy. That's because it was only a year ago, but the company has seen the error of its ways and it's bringing back XPS, starting with a new Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16. In a CES 2026 pre-briefing, Dell reps didn't mince words. It completely owned the blunder of discontinuing the most recognizable brand in Windows consumer laptops.

Dell:

Dell est un fabricant américain (basé au Texas) de matériel informatique fondé en 1984 et l'un des plus grands fabricants internationaux en termes de parts de marché et de modèles d'ordinateurs portables. Sa gamme de produits comprend des ordinateurs de bureau, des ordinateurs portables, des systèmes de stockage, des moniteurs, des serveurs, des imprimantes, des appareils électroniques grand public et des périphériques. Dell propose des ordinateurs portables adaptés à diverses applications, telles que les ordinateurs portables professionnels, les ordinateurs portables de jeu, les ultra-portables et les postes de travail. Les ordinateurs portables professionnels Dell des séries Latitude et Precision sont une option pour les utilisateurs professionnels et les entreprises.

En 2023, Dell détenait une part de marché d'environ 17 % des ventes mondiales de PC, se classant au troisième rang après Lenovo et HP.

Intel Intel Graphics 4 Xe3 PTL: L'Intel Graphics 4 Xe3 est une carte graphique intégrée dans les SoC Panther Lake avec 4 cœurs Xe3 (32 EUs / 512 ALUs), 4 cœurs de raytracing et une fréquence d'horloge allant jusqu'à 2450 MHz.

Intel Panther Lake:

Ultra 7 355: SoC mobile de milieu de gamme à 8 cœurs de la famille Panther Lake avec 4 cœurs de GPU Xe3. Le NPU 5 intégré offre 50 TOPS comme sur Lunar Lake et offre désormais le support de FP8.

Ultra X7 358H: SoC haut de gamme à 16 cœurs de la famille Panther Lake pour ordinateurs portables avec 12 cœurs de GPU Xe3. Le NPU 5 intégré offre 50 TOPS comme dans Lunar Lake et offre désormais le support de FP8.
