Overall, this is an excellent laptop. Yes, the MSRP is steep. Especially for this configuration I have here. But you can find these on sale for a reasonable price, and at the sale prices, the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 2-in-1 is a really solid value. From its comfortable and easy to use keyboard and haptic trackpad, to the outstanding speakers and brilliant OLED display. I wouldn’t recommend this laptop for hardcore gaming or programming, but I think light gaming, video editing, and photo editing are very doable with ease on the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 2-in-1. It will certainly fit the bill for basic computing tasks and day to day use.

The HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 looks and feels premium, and it provides a lot of utility as a CoPilot+ 2-in-1 PC. However, it lacks the power and features to support content creators, whereas the competing Asus ProArt PX13 checks all boxes. The Flip's focus on efficiency and AI performance pushes it into something of a mainstream-premium niche, with its gorgeous touch screen and lots of excellent battery life. If you’re after a portable machine that’s a viable platform for creative output and productivity, the OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 won't let you down, but the Asus ProArt PX13 will comparatively lift you up, and for less cash.

All in all, the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is a fine 2-in-1 laptop. It’s the best for battery life that we’ve seen from that particular genre of machine, and it performs adequately as well. HP combines that with fantastic build quality, decent accessibility, a generous specification for the money, decent levels of repairability and upgradeability, plus a great display. For all this laptop’s strengths, however, there’s also a selection of weaknesses undermining its overall appeal. The lack of a power button or volume buttons on the edge is annoying, the speakers are loud but harsh and the webcam is, frankly, terrible. In a cheaper laptop, those niggles wouldn’t bother me so much, but the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is a premium laptop with great potential, and it deserves much better.

Time for the verdict, and I'd like to say that the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is definitely on the expensive side, and that's something holding me back from recommending it to users. However, if the price isn't an issue, and it should see a drop soon, then this 2-in-1 laptop from HP is a good buy. The OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 has an excellent OLED display, good performance, especially in gaming, great battery life, and is portable. While it does miss out on some basics such as a USB Type-A port, it's not so bad. If you're a creator looking for a 2-in-1 with an excellent screen and good battery life, this is a really good choice.

The OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is sturdy, well built, and has epic battery life. The keyboard also offers a comfortable typing experience and the track pad is easy to use. But it also has flaws, some of which are outside of HP’s control. If your everyday laptop tasks demand multi-threading performance, then the latest Intel processor falls short. While that’s by design, it’s still something to consider. I’m also not a fan of the port placement and, more importantly, the few choices you get in that area. The bloatware bugs me, too. The OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is sturdy, well built, and has epic battery life. The keyboard also offers a comfortable typing experience and the track pad is easy to use. But it also has flaws, some of which are outside of HP’s control. If your everyday laptop tasks demand multi-threading performance, then the latest Intel processor falls short. While that’s by design, it’s still something to consider. I’m also not a fan of the port placement and, more importantly, the few choices you get in that area. The bloatware bugs me, too. The Spectre x360 14 was a great laptop, maybe the best example of the 360-degree convertible 2-in-1. With HP’s rebranding, I was wondering how much else would change with the OmniBook Ultra Flip 14. Fortunately, I didn’t have to worry too much. There’s really not a lot to dislike about the OmniBook. It gets very good battery life, has a gorgeous OLED display, and it look and feels great. Its performance isn’t the best, but it’s fast enough, and its keyboard and touchpad are excellent. It’s most attractive, though, at its sale prices.

Le HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 est un très joli PC, moderne et confortable, qui n'hésite pas à mettre en place des solutions innovantes pour répondre à des problèmes. C'est notamment le cas de ce pavé tactile haptique, superbement bien calibré, ou ces ports USB-C placés aux coins de la configuration qui sont terriblement pratiques. Mais hélas, il fait trop de sacrifices pour sortir du lot. La connectique est rachitique, le stylet doit toujours se charger en USB-C manuellement, et l'écran n'est pas vraiment calibré en HDR tout en manquant de luminosité en SDR. Le tout pour une suite logicielle qui réclame beaucoup trop de laisser ses données à HP pour exploitation. Un PC que l'on aime beaucoup utiliser donc, mais dont le manque d'efforts supplémentaires le place naturellement un peu derrière la concurrence toujours plus rude sur l'année 2025.

HP:

Fondée en 1939, la société américaine est un important fabricant de serveurs et d'imprimantes et l'une des principales sociétés informatiques au monde. Jusqu'en 2015, la société s'appelait Hewlett-Packard Company. Après une scission, la division informatique a été renommée HP Inc.

En 2023, HP détenait une part de marché approximative de 22 % des ventes mondiales de PC, ce qui en faisait le numéro 2 après Lenovo.

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

Intel Arc 140V: Un adaptateur graphique intégré assez rapide que certains processeurs Intel Lunar Lake utiliseraient. La 140V possède 8 cœurs d'architecture Xe² fonctionnant jusqu'à 2 050 MHz et 8 unités de ray tracing ; elle est compatible avec DirectX 12 Ultimate et prend également en charge tous les codecs vidéo modernes. Si l'on en croit les récentes fuites de résultats de tests, ses performances de jeu devraient être légèrement supérieures à celles de la MX570 de GeForce.

Intel Lunar Lake:

Core Ultra 7 258V: Un processeur de milieu de gamme de la famille Lunar Lake. Il s'agit d'un SoC destiné aux ordinateurs portables et aux tablettes les plus minces, qui comprend 4 nouveaux E-cores et 4 nouveaux P-cores cadencés à 4,8 GHz, ainsi que le nouveau iGPU Arc 140V prometteur et 32 Go de RAM LPDDR5x-8533 intégrée. Un nouveau moteur neuronal 47 TOPS, la prise en charge des disques SSD TB 4 et PCIe 5 sont également inclus.

Core Ultra 9 288V: Le processeur le plus rapide de la famille Lunar Lake selon de nombreuses fuites datant de juin 2024. Le 288V devrait faire ses débuts en septembre 2024 ; il devrait être doté de 4 cœurs E et de 4 cœurs P cadencés à 5,1 GHz, de l'iGPU Arc 140V plutôt rapide et de 32 Go de RAM LPDDR5X-8533 on-die. Un puissant moteur neuronal, la prise en charge de TB 4 et de PCIe 5 seraient également inclus.
