The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 (16″ Intel) is an unapologetic gaming powerhouse that masterfully blends aggressive, eye-catching aesthetics with a tangible sense of premium build quality. Its “Eclipse Black” all-aluminum chassis, detailed with striking LED accents and a fingerprint-resistant finish, feels exceptionally solid and well-constructed. Despite housing top-tier components like the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and options for NVIDIA’s latest RTX 50-series GPUs (up to a formidable RTX 5090), Lenovo has managed to keep the machine impressively compact and relatively lightweight for its class, making it a surprisingly portable beast. At the forefront of the user experience is the stunning 16-inch 2.5K (2560×1600) OLED display.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is a force of nature. It powers through demanding content creation tasks, handles reviews (like this one), and still lets you jump into a Dune: Awakening Landsraad event without closing tabs—so long as you’re near a wall plug. Despite a few design quirks, like the smudge-prone chassis and the missing rear ports, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is a strong upgrade for anyone ready to retire their old gaming PC.

Gaming laptops are a different beast of a machine. These things are made to perform their best when playing heavy games that output heavy graphics. I love gaming laptops for content creation because that same power does well handling video and photo editing. So something like the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 is perfect for not only gamers but also content creators who game. Like every other gaming laptop, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 isn’t exactly the most portable thing in the world. The power supply is huge, and the laptop itself isn’t exactly ultrabook light. But this laptop is at least a bit lighter and more moveable than some others. It also just looks good. I know many won’t like that the I/O isn’t at the back, but I like the way it looks.

Yes, the battery life is not great, but this is a gaming laptop, and a powerful one at that. It can handle just about anything gaming-wise, comes with a gorgeous OLED screen, and has more than enough ports for all your gaming needs. Just be ready to spend quite a good chunk of change on it.

Lenovo’s Legion Pro 7i was one of the best gaming laptops I ever reviewed - but that was 2 years ago now, and Lenovo have redesigned it in 2025, so let’s see how things have changed in this review.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i feels like an 18-inch gaming laptop in a more sophisticated, 16-inch form. I love the display, the stalwart yet still sleek build, and the hardware that provides what you're looking for in a gaming laptop: performance. In the end, Lenovo employed a thoughtful design here to compensate for the device's weaknesses. It runs hot but has a very effective cooling system. It's incredibly power-hungry, but it charges way faster than you'd expect. The elephant in the room is the sky-high starting price, at $3,500 for the 32GB configuration, going up to $4,000 if you want the top-of-the-line GeForce RTX 5090 GPU. I'd absolutely recommend this laptop to gamers looking for a powerful, out-of-the-box gaming laptop that hits all the right notes, as long as it's within your budget. The Legion Pro 7i is a sophisticated, powerful machine that dares you to run your favorite game at max settings and will ultimately leave you feeling spoiled.

Given the price of the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, it was always going to be a hard recommendation, no matter how good it is. I will say, however, that if money is no object and you want the very best performance that money can buy, then the Legion Pro 7i is the one to get. However, if you’re not a gamer but still need a good graphics card for things like video editing, 3D modeling, and general content creation, I would urge you to check out the many “Creator” laptops that are all the rage these days. ASUS has a few that we just reviewed, which are much cheaper. They are using last-gen graphics, so it’s not quite as powerful, however.

This refreshed 2025 Lenovo Legion Pro 7i chassis comes with some questionable aesthetic and ergonomics changes, but the pairing of the excellent performance capabilities with the premium build quality, the beautiful display, and competitive pricing will most likely put this laptop on many desks (or better yet, stands) this year.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i gets a redesign along with the new Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti / 5080 /5090 GPUs. A 240Hz 16” OLED display is standard, as is an aluminum body, per key RGB keyboard and there’s body lighting too. It’s one of the most performance oriented 16” gaming laptops on the market with 175 watt GPUs, powerful CPUs and excellent cooling. Pricing is very competitive.

Review of the 2025 Lenovo Legion Pro 7i with a NVIDIA RTX 5080 and an Intel Core Ultra 275HX CPU. There's a lot to like here but a few things to watch out for.

Overall, I adore the 2025 Lenovo Legion Pro 7i. If I was shopping for a gaming laptop for myself this would be a strong contender, though the high price would certainly be an issue. But if you can stomach the price tag and don't mind the disadvantages of owning a gaming laptop, I think this is one of the best of the year so far. I've always loved gaming laptops for their power and portability even as I've bristled at their high price, poor battery life and hefty weights, so it's lovely to see Lenovo pushing the category forward by shipping such elegant, performant machines.
