If you need a portable gaming device, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5i Gen 8 (16″ Intel, 2023) is for sure one of the possible options on the market. The device can be configured with powerful and modern hardware and at the same time, it’s not too big and heavy like the high-end gaming devices. At the same time, the hardware under the bonnet is more than enough for resource-heavy games. The 165Hz 1600p display (CSOT MNG007DA1-Q (CSO161D)) supports G-Sync so if you pair it with a GeForce RTX 4060 or with the more powerful RTX 4070, the laptop will be a true gem for gaming on the go. Speaking of the display, the 16:10 unit also has comfortable viewing angles and good sRGB coverage (98%) so it’s hard to moan about something here.

In our test benchmark, we highligted the other Intel 13th-gen laptops we’ve tested and you may notice that despite bearing similar CPUs, the Legion 5i Slim 2023 does pull off some wins versus its competitors and that’s primarily due to the slight uplift that the faster DDR5-5200 memory gives in some instances, particularly productivity. In terms of gaming, the lighter games on our test show very good results but we do see it show being GPU-limited in games like Requiem. In general though, the games do perform well and for those games that do support Frame Generation and hits 60FPS, there should be a significant bump in performance. We couldn’t test this on time due to time constraints and curiously, Lenovo primarily carries the RTX 4070 model here rather than the RTX 4050.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 5i is a very competitive 16-inch gaming notebook. It offers great value and manages to deliver excellent performance. I would definitely recommend skipping the RTX 4050 GPU configuration and going for either the RTX 4060 or the 4070. Having a single 512GB SSD in today’s day and age is very limiting, but I appreciate the fact that there is a secondary storage slot, and Lenovo offers a configuration option to upgrade to a 1TB drive. You aren’t getting a flashy, premium design here which is a personal choice. There’s also very limited RGB lighting, and the battery life is just above average. If you can ignore or don’t care about these, then the Legion Slim 5i is highly recommended. The laptop is available at a starting price of Rs 1,29,344 and goes up depending on your configuration. Other gaming notebooks that you should also look at include the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16, ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16, Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 and the HP Omen 16.

Le Lenovo Legion Slim 5 est un beau PC qui casse les codes de la machine de jeu difficile à transporter. On apprécie son design passe-partout et ses excellentes finitions. On aime aussi disposer d'un écran Oled, bluffant quand on joue, même si sa luminosité est loin d'être parfaite. Certes, il n'égale pas d'autres ordinateurs gaming de gamme équivalente en puissance brute, mais offre des performances suffisantes pour jouer en 1080p à l'ensemble des jeux du marché (parfois avec quelques concessions graphiques). On regrette tout de même que l'autonomie ne soit pas au niveau, ce qui nous empêche de faire de cet ordinateur un compagnon pour la journée.

À commencer par cet écran OLED absolument magnifique, calibré à la perfection, qui ne manque plus que d'un peu plus de luminosité pour être parfait, ou même cette configuration dont les performances sont plus que respectées, même s'il doit être un peu bruyant pour la supporter sans problème. Le PC doit forcément faire quelques concessions pour réussir à être plus accessible que ses rivaux sur le marché. On notera par exemple une construction réussie, mais un peu moins "noble" que les Blade 14 et Zephyrus G14, mais c'est surtout l'absence du support de l'USB 4 qui est vraiment dommageable ici. Autrement ? Voilà un PC gamer capable d'être considéré comme un vrai PC portable, qui pourra vous suivre au quotidien sans le moindre effort. Et c'est bien tout ce qu'on en attendait.

If you need a powerful compact multipurpose laptop, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 (14″, Gen 8) could be on your shortlist. It has a neutral clean design, an all-metal build and you can open the lid with one hand. Still, the overall rigidity isn’t great though. The input devices are comfortable. The keyboard is suitable for long typing sessions or gaming, and the touchpad is smooth and accurate. The 14.5K OLED display (Samsung ATNA45AF02-0 (SDC4188) is a small gem. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio and an infinite contrast ratio. The display is suitable for gaming with its super-fast pixel response times. That’s not all – the panel covers fully the DCI-P3 gamut and its color accuracy can be enhanced to an average dE value of 1.8 with our “Design and Gaming” profile. The only downside of the screen is the PWM usage which is the main con of many other OLED units.

Due to how close the 14- and 16-inch Slim 5 models come in terms of performance, I'd take the more compact laptop every time. Not only is it easier to carry around despite an all-metal build, its streamlined design is more appealing, and it has that gorgeous 2.8K OLED display. This is one of the best laptops that I've tested this year, and it should be given a strong consideration if you'd like to keep your gaming laptop well within the limits of portable.

That said, just like its predecessor, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5i 2023 benefits from Intel’s hybrid core architecture and NVIDIA’s RTX platform gives it an advantage for both work and play. While the CPU largely remains the same, the GPU is certainly a major point of consideration especially for those who are professionally reliant on such hardware. If you’re on an RTX 3060 + Alder Lake unit, you definitely can still enjoy your unit but people like me who may still be cruising on an Ryzen 7 + GTX 1650 laptop setup will definitely feel the upgrade. As new purchase, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5i is a decent performer and if you prefer a lighter package than the standard Legion 5, then the Slim variant is worth checking out but the slight differences is something we’re currently not capable of showing as we do not have the Legion 5 2023 on hand to compare.

En 2004, la société était le plus grand fabricant d'ordinateurs portables en Chine et, après l'acquisition de la division PC d'IBM en 2005, le quatrième au monde. En plus des ordinateurs de bureau et des ordinateurs portables, la société fabrique des moniteurs, des projecteurs, des serveurs, etc., et se spécialise dans le développement, la fabrication et la commercialisation d'électronique grand public, d'ordinateurs personnels, de logiciels, de solutions d'entreprise et de services connexes.

En 2016, l'entreprise s'est classée au premier rang mondial des ventes d'ordinateurs. Il le détenait encore en 2023 avec environ 23% de part de marché mondiale. Les gammes de produits importantes sont Thinkpad, Legion et Ideapad.

En 2011, elle a acquis une participation majoritaire dans Medion AG, un fabricant européen de matériel informatique. En 2014, Motorola Mobility a été racheté, ce qui a donné un coup de pouce à Lenovo sur le marché des smartphones.

Ces cartes graphiques devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux récents (avec quelques exceptions) en haute résolution avec un bon niveau de détail.

Ces cartes graphiques de milieu de gamme peuvent faire tourner tout les jeux récents de façon fluide. Les jeux gourmands ne peuvent être joués qu'avec les détails réglés sur moyen.

NVIDIA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU:

Carte graphique de milieu de gamme pour ordinateurs portables basée sur l'architecture Ada Lovelace. Offre 6 GB GDDR6 (96 Bit) et est configurable avec un TGP de 35 - 115W (+ Dynamic Boost).

AMD Phoenix (Zen 4, Ryzen 7040):

R7 7840HS: Processeur haut de gamme mobile à 8 noyaux avec 16 threads. Il atteint une fréquence maximale de 5,1 GHz sur chaque processeur et peut être utilisé dans des applications mono et multithreads. Il utilise l'architecture Zen 4 et a un TDP configurable de 35 à 54 watts.

Intel Raptor Lake-H:

i5-13500H: Un processeur mobile basé sur Alder-Lake avec 4 cœurs de performance et 8 cœurs d'efficacité. Les cœurs performants offrent un hyper threading, ce qui permet de traiter 16 threads. Le processeur est cadencé à 4,7 GHz et prend en charge la fonction vPro.

i7-13700H: CPU mobile basé sur Alder Lake avec 6 cœurs de performance et 8 cœurs efficaces. Les cœurs de performance offrent l'hyper threading, ce qui permet de traiter 20 threads. L'horloge du processeur peut atteindre 5 GHz. Par rapport à l'i9-13900HK, il n'y a pas d'overclocking facile, mais un ensemble complet de fonctions de gestion vPro.
