The Legion Y740 checks a lot of the right boxes, but at the same time, it misses on two of the important ones by quite a margin: the battery life and the typing experience. When I think of gaming PCs, I think of three categories: casual, mainstream, and premium. Casual gaming PCs are built for the person that doesn't game much, but wants to be able to if they want to. These people don't care about things like ray tracing and DLSS. Premium would be the best of the best, like the Alienware Area-51m, which actually has desktop parts. Premium gaming PCs also tend to include things like mechanical keyboards. They're built for those that care about gaming and nothing else.

The 15-inch Lenovo Legion Y740 ($1,989) boasts the kind of power you'd expect from a machine with RTX graphics, and features a comfortable keyboard and a decently colorful 144Hz display. But it doesn't do quite enough to stand out and make our best gaming laptop list. On top of that, its battery life and bottom-bezel webcam are working against it.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q:
Carte graphique pour PC portables haut de gamme, basée sur la puce TU106, avec 2 304 nuanceurs et 8 Go de VRAM GDDR6. Sa fréquence est en baisse par rapport à la variante pour PC de bureau.
Ces cartes graphiques de milieu de gamme peuvent faire tourner tout les jeux récents de façon fluide. Les jeux gourmands ne peuvent être joués qu'avec les détails réglés sur moyen.

Processeur basé sur l'architecture Coffee Lake, pour les portables gros et lourds. Intègre six cœurs cadencés entre 2,2 et 4,1 GHz (4 GHz avec 4 cœurs, 3,9 GHz avec 6 cœurs), qui supportent l'hyper-threading. Fabriqué en 14 nm amélioré (14 nm++).
