Critiques pour le/la Lenovo Moto G4 Play
Round 4. The Moto G4 Play may be the cheapest device of the Moto G lineup, but Lenovo has not cut all the corners. In our tests, the 5-inch Android smartphone impressed us with its good price-to-performance ratio, good hardware and long runtimes.

EN→FR Archive.org versionThe Moto G4 Play supports WLAN WiFi 802.11 b/g/n along with support for WiFi Direct and NFC connectivity plus Bluetooth 4.1, A2DP and GPS. There is also built in sensor support for accelerometer and proximity features. Earlier I mentioned that the removable battery pack had a capacity of 2800 mAh. Running my continuous movie running test resulted in my having a dead battery after approximately 8.2 hours of video watching. I did feel a little short-changed by the amount of time delivered by this aspect of the handset.

EN→FR Archive.org versionSo what do I think of the Moto G4 Play? There is only one way to really sum it all up – it’s a fairly decent budget phone with flaws and it’s those flaws which can possible make the phone more of a comparison tool than anything else.

EN→FR Archive.org versionSure, not everything about the G4 Play is great. The uninspired plastic design goes in stark contrast to some of the attractive metal bodies I’ve seen in entry-level devices from Chinese OEMs. The handset still lacks 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi, which is a disappointment, and Motorola’s camera app is simply horrible. Also, don’t count on fast security updates for this device, although Motorola has promised an update to Android 7.0 in the near future.

EN→FR Archive.org versionThe Moto G4 Play impresses me almost as much as when the original Moto G came out years ago. For $150, you can grab a customizable phone directly from Motorola’s website that offers a crisp 5 inch 720p screen, a front facing speaker that gets fairly loud, speedy performance that almost matches flagship devices, incredible day-and-a-half to two-day battery life, and a solid build.

EN→FR Archive.org versionIf you are looking for a smartphone at a low cost, then the Moto G4 Play pros outweigh the cons. With a starting price of $99.99 unlocked and support for all four major U.S. carriers, it seems tough for other manufacturers to beat the Moto G4.

EN→FR Archive.org versionIts benchmark scores aren't very strong, but to be fair, we weren’t expecting chart-topping performance from such an affordable, unlocked smartphone. The Moto G4 Play simply isn’t trying to be the best of the best. Instead, it’s meant to offer good real-world performance for a very budget-friendly price and it accomplishes that goal well. The fact that the phone offers decent battery life, good cameras, and is clean and free of unnecessary apps and bloatware are additional perks, particularly for someone who just wants a basic, no-frills smartphone that won't break the bank.

EN→FR Archive.org versionThe Moto G4 Play is a simple budget smartphone that offers clean Android interface, reasonably fluent everyday performance, and a reliable battery. It is certainly not the most exciting smartphone around, and at this price, the Lenovo Vibe K5 and Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime are better performers. They also deliver better value for your money, along with more features.

EN→FR Archive.org versionMotorola has budget phones down to a near-science, so we had no doubt that the Moto G4 Play would deliver as a reliable, great bang-for-your-buck device. The Moto G4 Play’s shortcomings are nothing more than what comes with the territory of affordable phones, for the most part: an exceptionally plain design, a middling camera, and decent but not terribly fast performance.

EN→FR Archive.org versionThe ancient Greeks advised us, “know thyself,” and that's an important aphorism to keep in mind when considering the Moto G4 Play. Yeah, the processor is all kinds of old, the camera is serviceable, at best, and we find neither tons of storage, nor the sort of Moto Maker customizations available for higher-end Motos. But you've got to remember: this is the bottom-rung Moto phone in many markets (those without the E3 Power, at least), and when we're only paying $150 for a handset, we're not expecting a ton in the first place.

EN→FR Archive.org versionPerhaps a better way to explain the Moto G4 Play is to call it an overachieving mediocre phone. I know, it makes no sense, but when you look at its benchmarks, the scores are really low. Yet, daily use doesn’t suffer in the same manner the HTC Desire 530 did, which scored just below the G4 Play.

EN→FR Archive.org versionMoto G4 Play is a decent budget smartphone that will please most buyers. If fingerprint scanner is not your priority in a smartphone, then go for the G4 Play. Remember, the device does lag in terms of performance, especially during gaming. Competitions to consider in the segment include – Xiaomi 3s Prime, slightly higher Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le 1s, and Lenovo K5 Note.

EN→FR Archive.org versionThe G4 is a very well-rounded smartphone. Sensible pricing, pure android, good cameras and no-nonsense build quality coupled with the infinite customisation options make it an almost irresistible budget option, but I would have preferred for it to be slightly smaller, waterproof and with a non-plastic body. But it is great as it is.

EN→FR Archive.org versionWhile the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus feel lost in the world, the Moto G4 Play is right on target. Its average specifications match the price tag, so you’re getting exactly what you pay and it’s cheaper than last year’s model as well. See, Lenovo is being straightforward with the Moto G4 Play. There isn’t any ambiguity surrounding what the phone is capable of. At $149, the Moto G4 Play is everything the Moto G (2016) could have been. This is it. We didn’t need the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. The best budget device on the market today is Lenovo’s Moto G4 Play.

EN→FR Archive.org versionIf you are looking for a budget device with latest Android and stock experience without any bloatware, then Moto G4 Play is the perfect choice with decent performance, good camera and battery life. But when you look at the competition at Rs 8,999 you will find that the Moto G4 Play is slightly overpriced especially with Redmi 3S Prime offering 3GB RAM, Fingerprint scanner, better battery life and also 32GB storage at the same price.

EN→FR Archive.org versionThen there's the 8-megapixel rear facing camera. Honestly, I was surprised by its better-than-average performance. Is it the best phone camera out there? No way. But in good light, it takes good photos. In mixed light, it takes OK photos. And in low light, it struggles and images tend to have some noise. Skin tones looked fairly natural in selfies, and for those who like such things, there is an optional beauty mode. The Moto G4 Play shot serviceable 1,920x1,080-pixel resolution video at 30 frames per second (fps). Take a look at some of the snaps I took with the Moto G4 Play in the gallery below.

EN→FR Archive.org versionUsers looking for an decent device that’s solid, runs well, and has a battery that’ll last all day, this is it. Have a peek at our previous Moto G reviews and consider whether or not it’s worth buying a new Moto G4 Play for $149.99 USD, or if any of the models from years past will do the trick for a bit cheaper. Either way the Moto G collection of smartphones remains one of our go-to top-picks for budget-friendly high-quality smartphones without a doubt. This device will be available on September 15th at Amazon, Best Buy, B&H and Motorola online, and there’ll be a prepaid version coming from Verizon “in the coming weeks.” There’ll also be a Moto G4 Play Prime Edition with all sorts of Amazon ads and software in it that’ll cost $100 USD. That’ll be available starting September 15th, 2016.

Qualcomm Adreno 306:
