It’s sleek, powerful, and packed with features like a stunning OLED display, haptic touchpad, and stylus support… but the CPU choice changes everything. In this review, I dive into the build quality, gaming performance, thermals, speakers, and battery life to see if the Triton 14 AI is really worth its $2,500 price tag.

EN→FRThe true benefit of the Acer Predator Triton 14 AI is its portability. This is an ultra-thin, ultra-light laptop with a discrete GPU that can game or do photo and video editing with solid battery life. It's a fantastic choice for a STEM student or frequent traveler who wants a gaming laptop. However, it's not a cheap laptop, so if you need to stick to a budget, opting for the RTX 5050 version of the HP Omen Transcend 14 probably makes the most sense. Alternatively, if you don't need a discrete GPU, the Asus Zenbook S 14 with Intel's Lunar Lake has enough integrated graphics power to handle gaming at 1080p and medium graphics presets. But if you don't want to compromise on your GPU power and still get a light, thin 14-inch laptop with a fantastic OLED display, it's hard to deny that the Triton 14 AI is one of the best choices available.

EN→FRWith its cutting-edge components and compact frame, the Acer Predator Triton 14 AI looks like a creative powerhouse, and it can be exactly that. There's even a stylus in the box, though it's limited in use. It’s an expensive laptop though, and there are a lot of other machines out there that will compete for your attention.

EN→FRThe Acer Predator Triton 14 AI looks good on paper, with chips from the newest generations of Intel and Nvidia. And when it comes to gaming it's got the goods too, though it can't quite decide whether it wants to be a gaming or creative machine. What lets it down is that similar laptops from Asus and Razer are cheaper and can perform better, which rather kicks the legs out from under the Triton.

Acer’s Predator Triton 14 is a unique 14” laptop with epic battery life, an OLED touchscreen, haptic touchpad with stylus support, and it can still play games with a small 140 watt Type-C charger! But a smaller laptop means compromises, find out if it’s worth it in this review.

EN→FRAfter two weeks of testing, the Predator Triton 14 AI feels more like a gaming laptop with some creator-friendly extras to me than a machine meant to please both camps. The stylus is a neat inclusion, and only being able to use it on the glass touchpad doesn’t feel like a major restriction. The stability Nvidia Studio drivers promise sounds niche, but could be a boon over rival gaming laptops for those that need it. For those that don’t, it pushes the price up over Acer’s main rivals, making it just a little harder to recommend in spite of the gorgeous screen. The GPU is as quick as you’ll find in a laptop so thin and light, but isn’t the perfect soulmate for that high display resolution and requires some pretty loud cooling. If portability isn’t your top concern you’ll definitely get more oomph from a 16in model – and probably pay less for it too.

The Acer Predator Triton 14 AI is the thinnest 14" gaming laptop we've seen and part of that is due to this being the first one to use a Lunar Lake CPU (the Ultra 9 288V). That's paired up with either an RTX 5060 or RTX 5070 running at 95W.

EN→FRBased on my brief hands-on time with the Acer Predator Triton 14 AI, it ticks all the right boxes for what I want from a gaming laptop—namely, a lovely design and powerful performance. If you’re like me, then this is a laptop to keep an eye out for. The lingering question right now is, when will the Predator Triton 14 AI be available in North America, and how much will it cost? Given the ongoing tariff situation, it’s difficult to say. Hopefully, we’ll get an answer soon since I’m eager to see if this laptop will live up to its potential.
