Le temps de réponse d'un écran mesure la rapidité à laquelle l'écran est capable de changer une couleur pour une autre. Un temps de réponse élevé se traduit par une image floutée pour les objets en mouvement. Les joueurs bénéficieront de faibles latences d'affichage en jeu.

Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion)

Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Si la fréquence est trop basse, certaines personnes peuvent être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire, des maux de tête ou même percevoir les variations.
Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) décelé 50 Hz ≤ 60 Niveau de luminosité

Le rétroéclairage de l'écran scintille à la fréquence de 50 Hz (certainement du fait de l'utilisation d'une MDI - Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) à un niveau de luminosité inférieur ou égal à 60 % . Aucun scintillement ne devrait être perceptible au-dessus de cette valeur.

La fréquence de rafraîchissement de 50 Hz est extrêmement faible, de grands risques de fatigue oculaire accrue et de maux de tête en cas d'utilisation prolongée.

En comparaison, 51 % des appareils testés n'emploient pas MDI pour assombrir leur écran. Nous avons relevé une moyenne à 9725 (minimum : 5 - maximum : 142900) Hz dans le cas où une MDI était active.

Lenovo apporte sur le marché un PC portable compact, globalement attractif avec son IdeaPad 510S-14ISK. Son bon rapport prix/performances pourrait attirer certains acheteurs. On a droit à un PC de 14 pouces dans un châssis rigide avec de bons périphériques d'entrée, le tout pour 799 euros (~$897). L'écran Full HD IPS offre une bonne colorimétrie, de bons angles de vision et un rétroéclairage uniforme. Le Core i5-6267U d'Intel qui intègre aussi l'IGP Iris Graphics 550 propose assez de performances pour la routine quotidienne.

Lenovo a fait du bon travail avec l'IdeaPad 510S-14ISK sur bon nombre d'aspects. Cependant, pour ceux qui sont toujours en déplacement et recherchant une machine endurante du point de vue de l'autonomie, ce sera la déception avec l'IdeaPad sur le long terme.

Après les points positifs, les défauts récapitulés ici:

En premier, la batterie dont l'autonomie est médiocre. La batterie devrait avoir une capacité de 45-50 Wh pour une autonomie acceptable. Les performances du CPU et du GPU ne sont pas pleinement exploitables. L'Acer Aspire V3-372-57CW qui dispose d'une configuration similaire se montre plus véloce dans certains cas d'utilisation. Cela ne veut pas pour autant dire que l'IdeaPad 510S-14ISK est sujet aux lenteurs et plantages. Les différences de performances ne sont remarquables que dans les benchmarks, et sont presque inexistantes lors de l'utilisation habituelle. En outre, la septième génération de processeurs d'Intel sera lancée prochainement. Lenovo en fait déjà la publicité sur sa boutique en ligne.
