The Honor 400 Pro is an almost-flagship phone that offers solid performance, excellent camera quality, a beautiful display, and hides a few AI tricks up its sleeve that you won't find elsewhere on a phone at this price point. It's a great option for those needing a capable handset without the premium price tag that comes with more flagship alternatives, and I found that it's a winner for content creation and editing too - thanks to Honor's AI tools (like the industry-first AI image-to-video). You also get the intuitive MagicRing ecosystem and very reliable hardware. Overall, it’s pretty darn impressive.

Despite its mild shortcomings, the Honor 400 Pro is a viable flagship-lite alternative that measures up well against its closest competitors. It comes with two unique AI features that are rarely found in other alternatives, which can help appeal to budget-conscious flagship aficionados. Will it surpass the S$869 Poco F7 Ultra? Not quite. Poco’s similarly priced phone has a better display resolution, a significantly more powerful chipset, and decent camera performance to help it along. However, the S$899 Honor 400 Pro trades all that out for an upsized battery uptime, which satisfies a group of users who care more about longer hours than anything else. Among its many alternatives, only the S$799 Xiaomi 14T Pro poses a real threat, offering comparable performance in every aspect.

Underclocked processor aside, the HONOR 400 Pro has everything you want on a flagship-grade device without being too expensive: an aesthetically pleasing design that’s durable, great performance from its processor and cameras, and its AI capabilities.

The HONOR 400 Pro 5G is the kind of phone that doesn’t try too hard to impress, because it doesn’t need to. It quietly flexes all the right muscles: a stunning display, powerful internals, reliable cameras, and battery life. For PHP 32,999, it feels like you’re getting flagship-grade performance without signing your wallet away. First off, performance is top-tier. The device handles day-to-day tasks with ease and barely breaks a sweat under pressure. Whether you’re gaming, multitasking, or jumping between apps, the HONOR 400 Pro keeps everything smooth and snappy. It’s a device built for power users, but even casual users will appreciate how effortlessly it operates. Then there’s the display, a real head-turner. HONOR equipped the 400 Pro with a vibrant AMOLED screen that’s sharp, bright, and a joy to use whether you’re watching YouTube, scrolling through TikTok, or editing photos.

Honor’s great run continues on a solid smartphone performer with an impressive feature-set. Honor 400 Pro can do all the essentials for a reasonable price. You get a speedy chip, stylish design, pleasing camera hardware, flagship-grade AI tools, excellent battery and superfast charging. It’s a direct competitor to similarly priced phones such as Oppo’s Reno 13 Pro (which uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chip) and Apple’s iPhone 16e (which only has one camera).

In short, the Honor 400 Pro sees upgrades across the board while managing to retain the same affordability as its predecessor. That’s a clear algorithm for success. The six years of software support makes it one of the best investments in its price range, video finally gets 4K/60fps and improvements to performance and battery life keep it competitive with its biggest rivals. In fact, I’ve struggled to find meaningful areas in which the Honor 400 Pro falls down. Some of the image processing in the cameras isn’t optimal and the lack of official protective glass leaves me questioning if it’s as scratch-resistant as some competitors but otherwise, there’s very little wrong here. The Honor 400 Pro is a jack of all trades that offers near-flagship quality at a much more manageable price.

Prices for high-end smartphones have risen significantly in recent years, and $1,200 to $1,300 is now the norm. With the 400 Pro, Honor is offering a flagship experience at a significantly lower price of $999.99. To achieve this price point, some sacrificed had to be made, such as using last year's flagship processor and using less-than-stellar camera sensors, for instance. However, these measures hardly affected the overall performance. The high-quality workmanship was just as impressive as the MagicOS user interface, which scored points with its numerous customization options and long update support. Of course, the Honor 400 Pro cannot quite keep up with the best of the best on the market. With its price, the Honor 400 Pro is positioned exactly between the Magic7 Pro for $1,399.00 and the Honor Magic7 Lite for $400, and should therefore be an interesting option for many users who want something that straddles the mid-range and premium segments.

And I think, for Nepal, the Honor 400 Pro is going to be a very important product. Why? Because the Honor 400 Pro has smartly tapped into the market in this price range. First of all, Honor Nepal has set the price well — it’s about NPR 35,000 cheaper than in Europe! The Honor 200 Pro nails the basics with slick design, smooth performance, and a camera that loves portraits—thanks to its Harcourt-style shots. It’s not a flagship killer, but if you’re into looks and photos over raw power, it’s a smart pick.

The Honor 400 Pro comes one year after the Honor 200 Pro, and brings a more durable design, an improved display, a more powerful chipset, and better main and zoom cameras. The focus this year is on AI, of course, which Honor has taken to the next level with cool features like Image to Video, Outpainting, Cutout background, Open Eyes, and more. There’s lots to love with the Honor 400 Pro that blends the still potent Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with an excellent display with a powerful triple rear camera array that now has telephoto zoom and an array of AI-powered enhancements.

The Honor 400 Pro is a near-perfect all-rounder. The camera system punches above its class, battery life is dependable even if not exceptional, the display checks all the boxes, charging is faster than most, and the loudspeakers sound nice. Honor also promises "six years of software upgrades" (potentially six major OS updates), which is up there with the best. Our only complaint is the chipset and pricing. While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 isn't inherently a bad chipset, you could easily get a device with the Snapdragon 8 Elite in this price bracket. With an MSRP of €800, the Honor 400 Pro easily ventures into flagship killer, or even full-fledged flagship, territory, making it tougher to compete. But with Honor's early €150 discount, the handset is extremely easy to recommend. You will make a small compromise with performance and none in other aspects like display, cameras, charging and battery life.

Overall, the HONOR 400 Pro is a solid mid-range phone that's worthwhile. It has a beautiful screen and a near-flagship chipset capable of playing the latest games and delivers good performance. In addition, it has a long battery life, ultra-fast charging, and a charger in the box. However, those expecting useful AI functionalities on the HONOR 400 Pro might be disappointed. HONOR still needs to polish features like AI Image to Video a bit more before they become fully viable. Hopefully, we can see some improvements with future updates. For alternatives, you can consider the HONOR 400 (RM1899). It has the same AI features as its Pro counterpart and is more affordable, in exchange for a slower chipset and charging speed. It also doesn't have a telephoto camera. Another option is the realme GT 7 (RM2599), which performs on par with the HONOR 400 Pro. However, this phone doesn't have any AI features. If you want a phone with an eye-catching design, the OPPO Reno13 (RM2299) could be a better option instead.

The Honor 400 Pro is a sub-flagship model with specs to beat some of the best – but at a price that’s appealing. There’s great performance and battery life, paired with fast-charging, and a display that really shines. The comprehensive camera system has some shortcomings, mind, and the software experience might divide opinion, but Honor's latest is a really solid handset for this kind of money.

The Honor 400 Pro offers up a well-balanced flagship experience, with one or two judicious compromises, for a good chunk of money less than a true flagship. It’s not the first phone to offer such a combination, nor is it the cheapest, but it’s compelling nonetheless. Solid performance, a capable AI-enhanced camera, and a brilliant screen stand out, and there’s little that warrants a flat-out complaint here except for the usual UI gripes.

The HONOR 400 Pro is a well-balanced smartphone that walks the line between premium experience and mid-range affordability. It doesn’t try to be a “flagship killer” in the traditional, aggressive sense. Instead, it takes a more refined approach — offering premium features, polished performance, and thoughtful design choices, all at a more accessible price.

n just a few short years, Honor has transformed its upper-midrange phones into true mainstream flagships. The 400 Pro can comfortably rub shoulders with Google and Samsung’s mass market models, thanks to its capable rear camera trio, high capacity battery, and impressively wide-reaching software smarts. Not everyone wants their photo galleries filled with AI-adjusted images, and Honor still needs to remember customers paying this sort of cash have a lower tolerance for pre-installed bloat. But the colourful screen, modern (yet still unique) styling and slightly more affordable price make it a genuine alternative for those who aren’t obsessed over brand names.

While the smartphone competition is hotting up for 2025, if you pick up an Honor phone, you’re typically guaranteed a solid user experience, a complete feature-set and a reliable camera in most situations, and the Honor 400 Pro is no exception. Honor’s latest upper midranger combines a great screen with fast wired and wireless charging, plenty of power and a versatile, capable camera mix that can take excellent photos and videos. While some aspects of the Honor 400 Pro experience let it down – photo processing inconsistencies across its three cameras and very aggressive power management – it’s still easy to recommend for anyone looking for a do-it-all smartphone without a flagship price tag. So if you don’t need the very best smartphone of 2025 and are happy with one of the best value high-end alternatives, alongside the Poco F7 Ultra and Motorola Edge 60 Pro, the Honor 400 Pro could be a winning choice for photographers and creatives alike.

The Honor 400 Pro can do it all, and it does it at a reasonable price. With a speedy chip inside, serious camera hardware, flagship-level AI features, a long-lasting battery and quick charging, it leaves little to be desired. That said, a plastic frame, divisive software and fairly weak ultrawide camera could be deal breakers for some.

Admittedly, I’m a little torn on how to feel on the Honor 400 Pro. Don’t get me wrong, this is a capable mid-range handset that delivers on a sleek, grown-up look, a gorgeous screen and marvellous efficiency that pit it against the very best mid-range phones out there, but there is just something about it. It might be the triple camera array that Honor has made a lot of that’s holding me back. General performance here is good, with great detail and more natural colours than some key rivals, but the meagre low light performance in some settings and reliance on AI trickery at longer focal lengths stop it being an full-blown ‘go buy this now’ recommendation. This is an excellent phone for the most part, and it’ll give you all of what you need/want in a phone in 2025, but you can do better with some rivals for outright potency and camera performance.

With a new, unique design and improved main camera, the 400 Pro confidently builds on the foundation laid by its predecessor. It excels in portrait photography, offering versatile creative options with the Harcourt modes, adjustable bokeh, and a 50MP front-facing camera with autofocus — a rare find at this price. Despite some drawbacks like inconsistent colours between the cameras, the 400 Pro delivers a solid performance across the board. The macro performance is really good, and features like the large 5370mAh battery, 5000-nit OLED display, and fast processor add substantial value.

The Honor 400 Pro is equipped with a sizable 6,000mAh battery that recharges at a pacey 100W via USB-C. During my testing, the phone comfortably lasts an entire day for me. I usually end the day with 50% battery left. In PCMark's battery test, the Honor clocked 10hr 10min, which is similar to the Samsung Galaxy S25. Given that it's also a value flagship using the same processor, the Poco F7 Pro is a likely competitor to the Honor 400 Pro. At S$899, the Honor is more expensive than the Poco (S$729), but the Honor has better cameras, and more AI tools. On the other hand, the Poco has the advantage for battery life. Both are solid upper mid-range models for those who want a near flagship phone experience without the hefty price tag.
