Selon nous, le Nubia RedMagic 10 Air s’impose comme un smartphone gaming abouti, pensé pour les joueurs exigeants et les utilisateurs à la recherche de puissance brute. Son design affirmé, son écran ultra-fluide, immersif, sans gêne et ses performances de haut vol en font un allié de choix pour le jeu mobile. Pour 150 euros de moins que son grand frère, le 10 Pro, le RedMagic 10 Air propose un bon compromis entre puissance et design épuré. Certes, il faut faire quelques concessions pour cela, notamment au niveau de la qualité photo ou de l’interface logicielle, mais il propose un bon rapport qualité-prix pour celles et ceux dont le gaming est la priorité. Entre sa puce très puissante, sa grande autonomie, son écosystème logiciel complet et surtout ses gâchettes sensitives qui enrichissent grandement l’expérience en jeu, le RedMagic 10 Air est un excellent compagnon de jeu en déplacement sans pour autant sacrifier le design ni la prise en main. Pour les joueuses et joueurs sur mobile, ce RedMagic a de grandes qualités, à condition d'avoir un autre appareil pour prendre des photos.

It’s not the best at taking pictures, and it’s pretty thick, but otherwise, it’s a solid phone that runs very smoothly, with a cool design and great battery life. It’s also $729 outright, which is incredibly affordable in a country where flagships are usually more than $1,200. The RedMagic 10 Air doesn’t quite offer the same uncompromising gaming experience as its Pro sibling, however, it will likely be the more appealing choice for a lot of people. It’s significantly lighter, it has a proper IP rating, so taking it out in the rain is less risky, and it offers exceptional value for money. It still runs games at an extremely high level and offers a top-notch audio-visual experience to match. If you’re looking for top performance, and your budget can’t stretch beyond the £450/$550 mark, it’s hard to think of a more capable phone. The closest is likely the Poco F7 Pro, which also utilises the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, but that’ll set you back an additional £60. It has a higher IP rating (IP68) and slightly faster charging, but beyond that, the phones are quite comparable.

The RedMagic 10 Air delivers a premium build and looks, a nice display with an under-display selfie camera, ample performance, solid battery life and fast charging, a whole load of powerful custom gaming features, and even what we consider to be a decent camera experience for a gaming phone. All the while, the price has been slashed significantly, making for a pretty great value proposition. Sure, compared to the RedMagic 10 Pro, there are a few things missing, such as the internal fan, the 3.5mm audio jack, and the DisplayPort video output. The battery is also smaller, and the screen doesn't get as bright. And you only get last year's flagship silicon, and it only gets an IP54 ingress resistance rating. None of these is essential to the user experience, so we'd say RedMagic has done a great job of creating this slimmed-down entry in its portfolio of gaming phones.

Compared with the Pro, this more portable smartphone has made some sacrifices. For one, the Snapdragon 8 Elite has been ripped out and replaced with the older 8 Gen 3. This is still beefy enough for the Red Magic 10 Air to run Wuthering Waves on maxed out graphics, with a perfect frame rate. However, this gaming smartphone does get rather hot, especially as there's no fan stuffed inside. Likewise, the battery has a slightly reduced capacity at 6000mAh. Not to be sniffed at, but the Red Magic 10 Air can only play Wuthering Waves for under four hours before it needs a recharge.

Puce graphique pour smartphones et tablettes intégrée au SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Qualcomm affirme qu'il est 25 % plus rapide que l'Adreno 7340 dans le Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 et les premiers benchmarks montrent que le GPU peut battre l'iGPU Apple A17 Pro.

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

SD 8 Gen 3: SoC haut de gamme pour smartphones présenté fin 2022 avec un noyau principal rapide basé sur une architecture ARM Cortex-X3 cadencée à 3,2 GHz. Deux autres cœurs de performance sont basés sur l'A715 et ne prennent en charge que les applications 64 bits. Les deux autres cœurs A710 prennent également en charge les applications 32 bits, tout comme les cœurs Cortex-A510 à économie d'énergie. En plus des cœurs de processeur, le SoC intègre un modem WiFi 7, un DSP Hexagon (pour l'accélération de l'IA) et un ISP Spectra. Le contrôleur de mémoire intégré prend en charge la mémoire rapide LPDDR5x jusqu'à 4 200 MHz. la 5G est incluse dans la puce avec le modem Snapdragon X70.

Un écran de plus grandes dimensions permettent des résolutions plus élevées, les détails comme la finesse des lettres seront meilleurs. Néanmoins, un écran de plus petite taille est synonyme de consommation énergétique moindre et souvent d’un terminal plus compact, plus léger et plus abordable.
