Comme le XPS 13 de Dell, le Matebook X Pro est un appareil emblématique de la marque. Il a le bon goût de conserver les fondamentaux ergonomiques de la série : le touchpad est impeccable, le clavier agréable et l’écran tactile 14,2’’ au ratio 3/2 toujours aussi formidable pour travailler. Encore plus léger et toujours très élégant, ce modèle 2022 profite pleinement de la 12e génération de Core i7 d’Intel et s’avère bien plus véloce que ces prédécesseurs. Un supplément de puissance agréable au quotidien, mais qui a un impact assez négatif sur la batterie, son seul vrai point faible.

Avec ce MateBook X Pro 2022, Huawei s'affirme enfin et montre son plein potentiel, apportant un vent de fraîcheur dans le paysage des ultrabooks. Son revêtement bleu encre apportant douceur et élégance est une très belle surprise. Son écran 3:2, avec sa luminosité et sa technologie anti-reflet, est un bonheur à utiliser au quotidien. Ses performances sont parmi les meilleurs du marché, et pourtant, il sait rester silencieux et frais en toutes circonstances. Une vraie réussite. Tout y est, ou presque. On regrette cette Webcam en 720p, mais on regrette surtout cette autonomie moyenne qui gâche quelque peu le plaisir, surtout pour une machine qui frôle les 2200 euros.

Ce défaut d'autonomie ne sera pas handicapant si vous avez une prise à proximité régulièrement, car le X Pro se recharge plutôt rapidement. On regrette aussi qu'il n'y ait pas un cache de webcam pour une sécurité physique qui serait rassurante ou encore la présence d'une prise USB-A à la place d'une des quatre USB-C. Ces quelques points ne vont toutefois pas gâcher le plaisir de ceux qui opteront pour ce choix. La texture du Matebook X Pro, la qualité générale des composants, de l'écran et l'audio, la puissance qui supporte des tâches lourdes sans rechigner, le tout dans un design impeccable tout en finesse et en légèreté en font un PC portable très agréable à utiliser au quotidien

Le Huawei MateBook X Pro (2022) est un absolu bonheur à utiliser au quotidien. Son design est parmi les plus agréables au toucher, aussi bien agrippant que doux. Véritablement luxueux. Ses performances sont parmi les meilleures de sa génération grâce à son système de refroidissement, qui sait rester terriblement discret tout en offrant les mêmes capacités que ses rivaux. Et que dire de cet écran 3:2 dont les bordures fines impressionnent à chaque ouverture du capot ? Oui, mais... L'autonomie n'est pas tout à fait là dès lors que l'on comprend que le constructeur a configuré son PC en 60Hz par défaut. La moyenne pour ce mode, mais dans les 6/7 heures dès lors que l'on utilise la dalle à ses pleines capacités. Il est cependant très difficile de lui en vouloir tant, parmi les propositions de l'année de multiples constructeurs, le Huawei MateBook X Pro 2022 fait office d'exemple.

It's safe to say that - on the whole - the updated MateBook X Pro is a refinement of the original 2022 design. But arguably is the laptop that earlier version should have been. The updated magnesium alloy finish gives it a really lovely look and texture, the 14.2-inch display offers vivid but accurate colours and crisp detail, while the speakers elevate the experience. Plus, there's plenty of power here with efficient cooling that it copes with just about any task as long as you don't need something that needs a more powerful dedicated graphics processing unit. There's no denying it's an expensive machine, but given the improvements it seems - at least - that it's more worthy of that price tag than its predecessor was.

The only disappointments are 720p rather than 1080p webcam resolution, the lack of an SD card slot and moderate battery life.

All in all, I think the Huawei MateBook X Pro has a lot to offer, and while it is a bit pricy, it’s not overly expensive for what you get. Again, the £1,799 price tag includes a fairly expensive monitor in the package, so this isn’t as expensive as it initially appears. For what you pay, you get a phenomenal display, great sound, premium build quality, and a good typing experience. You can’t ask for a lot more. Except, maybe, for it to be available in the United States. My biggest issues with the Huawei MateBook X Pro have to do with the built-in webcam and microphone setup, plus the lack of legacy ports is unfortunate. I also didn’t love some aspects of the touchpad, but you might be able to get used to how it works. As for the Huawei MateView SE, I’d say this is a nice monitor for the price. I find the lack of speakers a bit unfortunate because I would also like to hook up my Nintendo Switch to it, but if you’re only using a laptop, it probably already has better speakers than any monitor in this price range.

Assuming it doesn’t somehow fall apart during our testing process - which we would be surprised to see - we’ll feel very comfortable recommending it to anyone looking for a lightweight new laptop. At this point, our main criticism is the relative lack of physical port options. There’s four ports in total (not including the headphone jack), all four of which are USB-C; No USB-A, no SD card reader, and no video output in sight. This is likely due to the ultra-thin form factor, but it’s still annoying that it necessitates the purchase of a USB hub when it’s already going to be quite pricey.

We already knew the latest Matebook X Pro was a slick-looking ultraportable with a stellar screen – and that hasn’t changed now Huawei has upgraded the internals. It’s still a great work machine, thanks to the tactile keyboard, responsive touchpad and 3:2 aspect ratio. The high resolution, HDR support and decent set of speakers mean it can entertain as well. The extra CPU cores have given performance a welcome boost, meaning it can crunch numbers on par with many chunkier machines. A few new colour options help the updated machine stand out from its more businesslike rivals, and by the time you configure an M2-powered MacBook Air with same RAM and storage the price gap is pretty minimal. Battery life remains a sore spot, though, and creative types will still need to look elsewhere for a machine with a dedicated GPU. But if you’re simply after a premium work machine with a splash of style, it absolutely gets the job done.

Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs:

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

i7-1260P:

Un processeur de la famille Alder Lake de milieu de gamme supérieur comprenant 4 cœurs de performance et 8 cœurs efficaces. Ce SoC de 28 W est conçu pour être utilisé dans des ordinateurs portables ultra-légers. Les cœurs de performance du Core i7-1260P sont compatibles avec l'Hyper-Threading pour un total de 16 threads. Ce processeur de 12e génération fonctionne de 1,5 GHz à 4,7 GHz et prend en charge les fonctions vPro du niveau "Essentials". Enfin, le Core i7-1260P est doté d'un GPU Iris Xe 96 EU intégré, ce qui n'est pas sans rappeler certaines pièces de la 11e génération Tiger Lake-UP3.
