La Surface Pro version 2017 est une mise à jour assez timide de la Surface Pro 4 lancée en 2015. Elle conserve toutes ses qualités, tout en embarquant de nouveaux processeurs un peu plus performants. Nous sommes toutefois déçus par son autonomie un peu trop limitée, ses problèmes de chauffe (constatés sur le modèle équipé d’un Core i7) ainsi que par son prix qui nous paraît trop important compte tenu de ce qui se fait chez la concurrence. Si vous êtes prêt à faire quelques concessions en termes de performances et d’écran, tournez-vous vers un Lenovo Miix 510 (par exemple) qui propose une expérience similaire pour un tarif bien inférieur...

Microsoft signe avec sa nouvelle Surface Pro sa meilleure tablette hybride à ce jour. L'autonomie a été revue à la hausse, c'était le gros point noir de la Surface Pro 4. Les performances sont au rendez-vous malgré quelques bugs sporadiques heureusement réglés via les mises à jour. L'écran PixelSense fait toujours son effet et offre une expérience haut de gamme bluffante. En bref, la Surface Pro est presque parfaite dans son domaine. Son seul gros défaut provient de la politique de Microsoft qui vend séparément tous les accessoires, rendant la facture très salée. De plus un utilisateur de Surface Pro 4 n'aura probablement pas d’intérêt à changer pour ce nouveau modèle qui n'innove pas énormément. En revanche si vous avez un gros budget et que vous cherchez un hybride haut de gamme, alors la Surface Pro de 2017 est le meilleur choix à l'heure actuelle.

La Surface Pro est une bonne évolution d’un produit déjà excellent. Mais il s’est passé beaucoup de choses depuis la sortie de la Surface Pro 4. Apple a continué ses efforts avec l’iPad Pro et les MacBook 12 pouces. Les Galaxy Book de Samsung et Miix 510 de Lenovo se sont fait remarquer que le segment des tablettes hybrides. Microsoft lui-même a semé le trouble avec son nouveau Surface Laptop. Or, il se trouve que pour un produit présenté comme un remplaçant du pc portable, la Surface Pro n’est pas très pratique à utiliser posée sur les jambes. Sa béquille est parfaite pour un bureau ou une table, mais elle ne fait pas bon ménage avec des genoux.

We weren’t thrilled with the high temps and throttling of our test model’s Core i7 CPU (which is apparently still a little too much chip for a thin tablet form factor), and we’re hoping the problem doesn’t extend to the Core i5 units, but since the latter ditches the fans altogether, we’re expecting they don’t. We’ve requested a Core i5 review unit, so hopefully we’ll be able to confirm that in an upcoming issue. All things considered, the Surface Pro is an exceptionally powerful device in a uniquely versatile and compact form factor. If you don’t want or need the touchscreen, you can likely find better value in a laptop, but if you’re after a terrifically ultraportable Windows device with a stylus, then there’s still no better alternative to the Surface Pro.

The new Surface Pro is a superb 2-in-1. It’s beautifully built and performs well. The screen is excellent and even the speakers sound good. However, it’s very expensive, especially when you add the cost of the Type Cover and – if you need one – the Surface Pen. Few will opt for the base model, and you’ll pay a heck of a lot more for a Core i7. Ultimately, while a fantastic device, it’s hard to recommend the Surface Pro unless money is no object.

For users that’ve never worked with a Surface device of any sort – I highly recommend taking one for a whirl at a local computer store. I do not recommend buying a Surface Tablet without first seeing how it feels to use in person. It’s a unique device, to be sure, and just like any device that costs hundreds of dollars and presents a new use case scenario, this warrants a trip to the Microsoft Store.

The Surface Pro lineup has always been one of the most powerful tablet class devices around. Microsoft is no longer marketing it as a tablet that can replace your laptop anymore though, and they’ve acknowledged that most of the customers who buy and use the Surface Pro are looking for an ultraportable laptop. That makes a lot of sense, since the Surface Pro weighs only 786 grams / 1.73 lbs for the Core i5 and i7 models, and the Signature Type Cover only adds another 310 grams / 0.68 lbs. As a complete package, it’s only 1.096 Kg / 2.41 lbs. It’s not the lightest device around, but it’s still very light and easy transport.

Even in 2017, there are just far too few compelling apps that take advantage of the Surface Pro's versatility. It used to be that you couldn't do much about that if you wanted a Surface device. This time around, the Surface team improved the device’s display to work better with the new Surface Pen stylus. According to Microsoft, the Pen is more sensitive than its predecessor and suffers from less latency. The company says it cut down the response time for the Pen to 21 milliseconds. Microsoft also added a tilt feature to the Pen so you can create wide strokes with the stylus when you tilt it.

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

Un écran de plus grandes dimensions permettent des résolutions plus élevées, les détails comme la finesse des lettres seront meilleurs. Néanmoins, un écran de plus petite taille est synonyme de consommation énergétique moindre et souvent d’un appareil plus compact, plus léger et plus abordable.
