L’architecture Zen révisée d’AMD est plus qu’un simple rafraîchissement. L’architecture Zen+ s’est significativement améliorée, et semble maintenant capable d’atteindre des niveaux de performances plus élevés avec des besoins énergétiques presque inchangés. Le Ryzen 7 2700X est le nouveau fleuron de la gamme, successeur du Ryzen 7 1800X. Les deux nouveaux CPU ont un prix vraiment compétitif, et rivalisent avec la gamme actuelle d’Intel pour remporter le meilleur rapport prix / performances. Ils ont déjà gagné la bataille des tâches multithreads, mais le i7-8700K reste le champion des sollicitations mono-threads.

Même les modèles Ryzen moins haut-de-gamme s’améliorent significativement par rapport à leurs prédécesseurs, et sont d’environ 10 % plus rapides. Avec ses six cœurs, le Ryzen 5 2600X propose de bonnes performances pour un prix d'environ 230 €.

Les nouveaux processeurs Ryzen ont amélioré leurs performances à la fois en multi et en mono-thread. Avec ces nouveaux processeurs Zen+, AMD comble l’écart avec les Coffee Lake d’Intel. Cependant, il n’y a pas de victoire claire entre les deux concurrents, les deux ayant leurs forces et leurs faiblesses distincts.

Une carte-mère X470 n’est pas en soi une nécessité pour les nouveaux CPU, mais elle est recommandée à cause de sa compatibilité avec le XFR2 Enhanced et le Precision Boost Overdrive, qui permettent tous deux au CPU Ryzen d’être un peu plus rapide. Ceux qui resteraient malgré tout avec une plateforme X370, devront mettre à jour le BIOS pour pouvoir être compatible avec les nouveaux processeurs. Certains vendeurs spécialisés pourront vous proposer de flasher eux-mêmes le BIOS pour vous, afin que votre nouvel équipement soit prêt à l’emploi lorsque vous le recevrez.

Dans l’ensemble, les deux processeurs Ryzen proposent des performances plus qu’honnêtes, et les deux peuvent être conseillés aux joueurs. Le fait qu’AMD intègre une fois de plus un très bon système de refroidissement qui propose même un éclairage RGB pour la version la plus haut-de-gamme est tout à fait louable.
