Le Schenker Work 15 est sans aucun doute un portable professionnel de 15 pouces puissant. Pour 1 200 €, on aura ainsi un processeur hexacœur, 16 Go de RAM et un SSD rapide. De plus, son écran est agréable, même s’il pourrait avoir des couleurs plus fidèles. Dans l’ensemble, le Work 15 fait souvent mieux que les autres appareils de notre comparatif, grâce à son processeur Core i7-8750H puissant, même s’il ne profite pas pleinement de tout le potentiel de ce CPU.

Le système de refroidissement est cependant sous-dimensionné, ce qui gêne les performances du CPU : celui-ci peut maintenir sa fréquence de base quand il est poussé dans ses retranchements, mais le système ne refroidit pas assez bien la puce, si bien qu’il y a du throttling empêchant d’utiliser le Turbo Boost.

En bref, le Work 15 est un appareil efficace, mais n’est pas toujours à la hauteur de ce que proposent ses concurrents : il n’a pas de lecteur de carte à puce, de lecteur d’empreintes digitales ni de webcam infrarouge, généralement intégrés sur les portables professionnels. La seule consolation ici est le module LTE optionnel, mais cela ne compense pas à notre avis le manque de fonctionnalités de sécurité.

Le Schenker Work 15 est un appareil puissant avec un CPU rapide, dont il n’exploite malheureusement pas tout le potentiel.

Le Work 15 possède également un clavier correct, mais pas du niveau de celui du ThinkPad T580. Le trackpad et les boutons de souris dédiés fonctionnent également bien, mais nous aurions apprécié un plus grand trackpad. De même, un port USB C supportant de DisplayPort aurait été le bienvenu. Dans l’ensemble, le Work 15 est un appareil professionnel honnête, mais il possède quelques défauts.

The Schenker Work 15 is undoubtedly a powerful 15-inch work laptop. €1,200 (~$1,345) gets you a laptop with a hexacore processor, 16 GB of RAM and a fast SSD. Moreover, its display is a pleasure to use, although we wished that it was more colour accurate. Overall, the Work 15 often outperformed our comparison devices because of its strong Core i7-8750H processor, even if it does not meet expectations for what that CPU should achieve.

The cooling system is underpowered though, which hampers CPU performance. Our review unit can still maintain its CPU base clock when pushed to its limits, but the cooling system cannot keep the chip from overheating, so it thermal throttles instead to cool itself.

In short, the Work 15 is a solid work device, but it lacks the finishing touches of its competitors. It has no smart card reader, fingerprint scanner or IR camera, which OEMs usually adorn their business devices. The only consolation here is the optional LTE module, but this does not compensate for the lack of security features in our opinion.

The Schenker Work 15 is a fast workhorse with a strong CPU of which it, unfortunately, cannot take full advantage.

The Work 15 has a decent keyboard too, but it is not at the same level as the ThinkPad T580. The trackpad and dedicated mouse buttons also worked well, but we would have preferred a larger trackpad. Likewise, a Type-C port that supports DisplayPort would have been welcome. Overall, the Work 15 is a decent office laptop, but it has a few trade-offs.
