Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Si la fréquence est trop basse, certaines personnes peuvent être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire, des maux de tête ou même percevoir les variations.

Il n’y a pas de changements visibles entre le Yoga 730-15IKB et son prédécesseur, le Yoga 720-15IKB. Seul le processeur a changé, passant d’un CPU 45 W à un CPU ULV de 15 W.

Notre appareil de test est équipé d’un Core i7-8550U. Ce processeur quadricœur est suffisamment puissant pour n’importe quelle tâche moderne. A saluer, il peut utiliser son Turbo Boost pendant une longue période. Et grâce à sa carte graphique dédiée, le Yoga 730 peut faire tourner la plupart des jeux modernes.

Le 15,6 pouces de Lenovo fusionne deux mondes, celui du jeu d’entrée de gamme, et celui du convertible.

Lenovo utilise un CPU ULV comme excuse pour baisser la capacité de la batterie, de 30 % plus faible que celle du Yoga 720. Couplée à l’écran 4K, l’autonomie est au mieux moyenne. Mais les concurrents comme l’Acer Spin 5 SP515-51GN ou l’Asus ZenBook Flip 15 UX561UD ne font pas mieux à cet égard.

Le SSD, qui peut être remplacé en ouvrant le châssis, permet au système d’être très réactif. Le clavier laisse une bonne impression, et paraît adapté à ceux qui écrivent beaucoup, d’autant plus qu’il est rétroéclairé. L’écran tactile IPS 4K régale avec d’excellents angles de vision, des couleurs fidèles, un contraste solide, et une luminosité acceptable. Il peut être utilisé avec les doigts ou avec le stylet inclus.

Avec le Yoga 730, les choses deviennent plus simples pour ceux qui utilisent des écrans externes : à la différence du Yoga 720, le Yoga 730 possède à la fois un port Thunderbolt 3, et une sortie HDMI.
