EN→FRThe Pixel 9 Pro XL was one of my favourite phones last year, but the 10 Pro XL doesn’t continue that sentiment. I like the design, and the camera (but I liked it last year too), the battery is serviceable (with the resolution lowered), the speaker is great, the Tensor G5 works, and there’s a boatload of AI features that should improve over time. But with the aging camera tech, an only serviceable battery, and the Tensor processor that falls behind the Snapdragon 8 Elite and the A19 Pro, it’s hard to appreciate the 10 Pro XL. I liked the handset, but it’s time to make some changes, Google. On top of that, the 10 Pro XL is $1,629, which is pretty expensive. No shade, but just grab the Galaxy S25+ for $1,438. It offers a similar experience but in a slimmer body with a better battery.

EN→FRGoogle might not have the flashiest hardware updates, but there’s no denying that it put painstaking effort into elevating software features on the Pixel 10 series. Despite AI gimmicks like Veo 3’s AI video generation, Google’s general usability upgrades improve user experiences. It goes beyond the perks you see on other Android brands with cookie-cutter parts. Some areas, like Magic Cue, are still a work-in-progress, but the time-tested fundamentals like photography features (e.g. Camera Coach) are ready right out of the box. Even if Pixels never get ultra-fast processors, we’re pleased with such attention to the phones’ software. What it lacks in raw power, Google makes up for it by translating that power into perks that uplift its users’ experience.

Today I am going to be sharing my experience using the new Google Pixel 10 Pro for the past weeks. I can tell you that for me the Pixel 10 Pro is really a love/hate phone. There’s a lot I really like but also some things that I feel keep this phone from being truly great.

EN→FRThe Pixel 10 Pro doesn't bring a whole lot of improvements, instead iterating on what was sort of a good overall package. Predictably (no need to kid ourselves with unrealistic expectations), some classic Google pain points haven't been addressed - charging remains unacceptably slow, battery life isn't competitive, the chipset is behind the curve and throttles like few others. This year the phone is also heavier. The Pixels aren't really moving forward much in terms of camera hardware, and they're outspecced by Chinese makers (and outperformed too). There's a glimmer of hope in the improved closeup shooting this year, which still remains hampered by a suboptimal camera app implementation (which is less than perfect in numerous other ways).

EN→FRThe Pixel 10 Pro packs Google’s best hardware and software into a polished, pocket- and budget-friendly package. It has one of the brightest screens available from a mainstream phone, delivers fast 5G and Wi-Fi speeds, and carries capable cameras that set a high bar for mobile photography. The speedy, on-device AI tools are a wonder to use and provide informative and fun results, whether you're trying to make restaurant reservations or improve a photo. We wish the Tensor G5 processor were a little speedier and the battery lasted a little longer, but those don't detract from the experience too much. Thanks to its combination of price, size, performance, and AI, the Google Pixel 10 Pro wins our Editors' Choice award as the best Android phone for most people. For those who want it all, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra provides a bigger screen, faster processor, and integrated stylus, making it our Editors' Choice for flagship phones—albeit at a flagship price.

EN→FRThe Pixel 10 Pro (XL) presented itself as a successful evolution of its predecessor. Google is sticking to its guns and, once again, is focused on powerful software features that remain exclusive to Pixel devices. The live translator and the new camera coach are just two examples of new, exclusive software features that complement the existing functions. The hardware proved to be impressive as well, with high-quality workmanship, a bright and razor-sharp display, and speakers that delivered impressive audio. The software scored points with fast updates and a tidy look — only the limited options for personalization might be missed by some users. The camera was also first-class as usual and delivered realistic images via the typical "Pixel look".

Google has about 4% marketshare in the smartphone world right now – and they are trying to get those rookie number up... however – if they cant swap that G for an Apple on the back of the glass – im not sure if they'll make it. EN→FRThe Pixel 10 Pro just didn’t really do much to improve on what the Pixel 9 Pro already offered, and with the all but guaranteed price decrease of its predecessor, the Pixel 10 Pro ends up that much harder to recommend wholeheartedly, never mind the existence of versatile OnePlus 13. Google was already leaning a bit too much on the value of its software capabilities with the Pixel 9 Pro, and it’s only leaning harder here. That just undermines some of the promise of Pixel devices “getting better over time” with Google’s Feature Drops, as the highlight features of each new model year become the thing that differentiates them from last instead of something they can all share. To really step up, Google needs to show that a new phone is a worthy investment because it either has the upgraded hardware to last or comes with useful enough features at launch to be worth buying, because you just can’t count on getting next year’s features.

EN→FRThe Pixel has long been viewed as Android’s iPhone, but the Pixel 10 Pro isn’t the easy call that the iPhone 16 Pro was last year. When the Pixel 10 sports the same 5x telephoto zoom, similar performance and many of the same other special features, such as Pixelsnap (aka MagSafe for green bubbles), it’s hard to say you should spend $200 or more extra just to upgrade from the standard Pixel 10. This isn’t me damning the Google Pixel 10 Pro, though; I just really respect Google for making the regular Pixel 10 as great as it is this year. With my preliminary battery life findings and early thoughts about the latest Gemini and software tricks, I feel like the Pixel 10 Pro is a harder sell than ever.

EN→FRThe Google Pixel 10 Pro is my favorite Android smartphone. It's incredibly well designed, offers an excellent camera, good enough performance, good battery life, versatile charging, and more. It also happens to offer what I consider to be the best software experience on an Android phone, which can't be overstated. All of these things come together to make for a phone that's well rounded and easy to use. It's the closest thing to an iPhone 16 Pro you can get if you want to stick with Android.

EN→FRAs an iterative hardware upgrade, there’s not enough here to convince you to trade in your Pixel 9 Pro. To be fair, that’s probably not what Google is aiming for. Considering that people are hanging onto their handsets for longer, the Pixel 10 range becomes a lot more attractive when upgrading from a Pixel 8 or earlier. While the Pixel Pro 10 offers a slightly sharper display and more RAM than the standard Pixel 10, it’s only worth the extra money if you’d make the most of the improved cameras and Pro controls. Don’t be swayed too much by Pro Res Zoom 100x; the results are technically impressive, but it’s still really a novelty. As for AI wizardry, it’s great to see that Google is focused on making Gemini Live more useful for day-to-day tasks, even if Magic Cue remains elusive.

EN→FROverall, the Pixel 10 Pro is a good phone, but it's let down by the fact this is a very incremental upgrade. It really just feels like a slightly different variation on the Pixel 9 Pro. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, considering the Pixel 9 Pro is one of the best phones. But, as much as I appreciate upgrades like Qi2, it's still disappointing to see how little Google has done with the new model. But when it comes down to the real stuff, there's very little to actually dislike about the phone. The camera is good, battery life is strong, and the display feels like it will literally blind you in the right circumstances. The AI upgrades aren't quite as impressive as I'd hoped, especially Magic Cue, but new features in addition to old ones can never be a bad thing. If you have a Pixel 9 Pro, this is definitely a phone to skip. But if you're looking for a Pro Pixel, and are happy to sacrifice charging speed for the more compact design, then the Pixel 10 Pro should suit you just fine.

EN→FRNow that we can look back at 10 generations of devices, Google’s overarching strategy is more convincing than ever. For the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL, the company has combined iterative hardware upgrades with a solid (and attractive) design while its software and AI continues to outpace its rivals. Even though Magic Cue doesn’t work for everything and is limited to a handful of first-party apps, it feels like the omniscient computers from sci-fi shows and movies have finally been beamed into a device to help us organize our lives. Then you tack on support for high-res portraits and an AI-powered zoom that produces results better than the base optics ever could on their own and you get what might be the most versatile mobile cameras around.

EN→FROverall, this is an excellent phone with a few notable flaws. I haven't even addressed the fact that Pixels went to eSIM only in this review, which is at best inconvenient (as evidenced by the 30-minute hold required with T-Mobile's customer service to activate it), and at worst, consumer-hostile. eSIMs won't adversely affect the average consumer's life, but they're heckin' annoying for phone reviewers and anyone else who switches phones more than once per year. Nighttime photography is also very disappointing, though daytime performance (and Super Res Zoom) almost entirely makes up for it. Beyond those two drawbacks, though, this phone is quite good and a worthy upgrade. The hardware is on point, though the color selection could be better and brighter.

EN→FRGoogle is getting better at this "making a phone" thing, and it shows with the Pixel 10 Pro series. Some questionable decisions, such as eSIM-only and forced battery capacity throttling, are unsettling, but they're juxtaposed by a brilliant new Pixelsnap magnetic system and a Tensor processor that finally isn't terrible. The Pixel 10 Pro's telephoto performance is underwhelming compared to the competition, but it will take excellent pictures of your kids and pets, which is probably something people care more about, anyway. It's a release that feels more iPhone than ever in many ways, helping to further appeal to users who are considering switching. Google continues to develop the Pixel's personality as the phone that does it all for you, and this release solidifies that, for better or worse.

EN→FRAlways a difficult question this one. If you already own a Pixel phone, especially last year's Pixel 9 Pro, there's little to no reason to get the new Pixel 10 Pro. Yes, the Tensor G5 is faster, more efficient and can do some AI magic on-device, but we can bet our Christmas bonuses that most of these features will drip down older Pixels in the not-so-distant future. If you're looking to dip your toes into Google's ecosystem of devices and you want to buy your first Pixel phone, the Pixel 10 Pro is one of the best options on the market. You can get the XL variant if you need more screen estate or opt for the Fold if foldables are your thing, but the Pixel 10 Pro sits in the right spot when it comes to features per dollar spent. This hands-on will morph into a full-blown review soon, so be sure to check back for all the geeky stuff.

EN→FRGoogle has two of the best Android phones I’ve used all year. I’ve been a fan of Pixel phones since the first one came out in 2016, and now, with its 10th generation, the Pixel has hit a new peak. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL are easily two of the most well-rounded phones of 2025, with great cameras, battery life, and genuinely useful AI that average users can appreciate. We’ve tried the best that this year has to offer, from the Galaxy S25 Ultra to the OnePlus 13 and beyond. And by comparison, once again, Google has nailed virtually everything you could ask for from a smartphone. Are the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL perfect? No, but boy do they come close. Between the speedy performance, reliable software updates, excellent cameras (this time with 100x AI zoom), and the same gorgeous design, there’s very little to dislike about these phones.

EN→FRThe Pixel 10 Pro is an impressive smartphone with solid video and photography capabilities, but it's not a significant leap over the Pixel 9 Pro. This is probably the most incremental smartphone update Google has released in its long-running Pixel line. With that in mind, if you're a hardcore Pixel fan that already owns the Pixel 9 Pro, you can skip this year without fear of missing anything major. However, if you're using a Pixel 7, Pixel 8, or Pixel 9, now might be the time to upgrade. EN→FRI’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Pixel 10 Pro. I expected a significant step up from the Pixel 8 Pro I had been using over the last couple of years, but what Google has achieved with its latest flagship has exceeded expectations. The phone’s overall performance is best in class, and the updated Gemini makes multitasking and task management noticeably easier. The price is steep at $1,349 ($999 USD), but for a premium flagship device, it feels worth every dollar. If you want a top-tier smartphone that can also handle content creation without the need to carry multiple devices, the Pixel 10 Pro is more than enough—and a strong contender against its competitors in today’s market. With the Pixel 10 Pro, Google proves once again it leads the premium flagship space.

EN→FRIt all feels quite positive, but the reality is, even without the battery life issues, I’d struggle to recommend the Google Pixel 10 Pro. Aside from the new processor and Pixelsnap – which is a great inclusion – this is essentially the same phone as the Pixel 9 Pro. With last year’s model now being heavily discounted, there’s very little reason for you to spend more on the latest version. Which is a shame, because the Pixel 10 Pro, taken in isolation, is a decent compact smartphone. The display is exquisite, the cameras continue to be some of the best in the game, and the addition of MagSafe-style charging is significant; you can expect every other Android phone manufacturer to do something similar over the next 12 months. Back in the real world, however, you’ll find more bang for your buck – and still get Pixelsnap charging – in the Pixel 10, or you can save money and pick up the very similar, but now year-old Google Pixel 9 Pro.

EN→FRWith Google’s latest compact Pro phone, it’s a case of the end result being greater than the sum of its parts. Based on conventional benchmarks, it’s seriously lacking as a productivity powerhouse or a gaming monster, but in practice, it’s a joy to use. Perhaps more than any Pixel in recent memory, while the Pixel 10 Pro excels in areas where Pixels always tend to excel, the market around them has caught up. Most high-end phones cameras are capable of taking great shots in most conditions, throwing AI-based context-aware suggestions out and, while not necessarily Qi2-compatible, the likes of Infinix, Oppo and OnePlus have granted their phones access to the same magnetic accessory ecosystem as Pixelsnap and MagSafe.

EN→FRI’m not going to repeat the specifics of the new AI and Gemini features that I already covered in my Pixel 10 review. Check that out if you want more details on features like Magic Cue and Voice Translate, but the gist is that the Pixel 10 phones—all of them, including the Pixel 10 Pros—deliver on this longtime dream of a proactive AI or assistant helping you to do things on your phone faster or easier. Magic Cue, which suggests relevant info from across apps, has so much potential to save us from the entrapment of our phones and our data that’s spread out in other apps. I said it in my Pixel 10 review that we’re only at the starting line, but Google has delivered the AI phone that Apple said it would with its AI-powered Siri, but then completely fumbled the execution. It’s no wonder that Apple is reportedly in exploratory discussions with Google to use Gemini to power a next-gen Siri.

EN→FRGoogle’s Pixel phones have always been about making high-end / advanced photography features accessible whether you’ve got photography skills or not, and in this regard, the 10 Pro continues with this tradition. The new Camera Coach being even more beginner friendly, and it’s similar (but different) to Samsung’s “Shot suggestion” feature. The good news here is that you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to. The same issues I had with the 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL still apply to the new 10 Pro, namely, macro performance doesn’t match the competition, and 8K video is only offered as an AI/cloud based feature, where you have to wait for your video to be processed before you have access to the 8K footage (while you’re waiting, you only get access to Full HD processed, or unprocessed 4K footage).

EN→FRWith the Pixel 10 lineup, Google has taken last year’s excellent Pixel 9 series, and made it significantly better. Tensor G5 is more efficient and performs better than Tensor G4 virtually across the board. Qi2 with magnets gives these phones access to Apple’s vast MagSafe ecosystem of accessories. Pixel 10's brighter displays, upgraded speakers, larger batteries, and faster charging speeds are all welcome improvements. The Pixel 10 now also packs a telephoto camera that enables 20x magnification, and Pro Res Zoom allows the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL to zoom up to 100x, with spectacular results. Add Google’s outstanding software and AI features to the mix, and you have all the ingredients for a winning recipe. The only thing leaving a bitter taste behind is the lack of SIM trays on the US models.

EN→FRI think it’s fair to say that the Pixel 10 Pro upgrades are pretty minor and, subsequently, underwhelming. As much as I enjoyed some of the new features, the only one that I would really benefit from on a regular basis is the improved portrait mode. Of course, a phone is more than just its cameras, and the AI assist tools for monitoring your correspondence or finding you great restaurants might very well be awesome to use, depending on how invasive you like your phone to be. However, from an image-making standpoint, the Pixel 10 Pro phones are largely more of the same, and I wouldn’t upgrade from a Pixel 9. Even the Pixel 8 phones make many of the same shots that the 9 and 10 series do, and your enjoyment factor will mostly depend on how much AI you want in your images.

EN→FRThe Pixel 10 vs Pixel 10 Pro matchup is closer than ever this year. With a telephoto camera, 3,000-nit display, and magnetic wireless charging, the base Pixel 10 no longer feels like the “budget compromise.” At $799, it delivers most of the flagship Pixel experience at a more approachable price. The Pixel 10 Pro still has the edge if you care about camera quality, RAM, and storage flexibility. Its larger sensors, sharper QHD+ display, and 42 MP selfie camera make it the more complete package — though it’ll cost you $200 more. For most users, the Pixel 10 will likely hit the sweet spot. But if you’re a creator, heavy multitasker, or someone who simply wants Google’s very best, the Pixel 10 Pro is the one to get. Samsung has done well to keep up with its Galaxy AI features, but I think it puts Apple Intelligence on notice because of the amount of new AI features present here with these Pixel 10 Pro devices. They add on to the existing set that Google has delivered, like Call Screen, Pixel Studio, Magic Editor, and much more. Hopefully other aspects of these phones are improved, namely the performance of the Tensor G5 and their battery life. One thing's certain: they make other phones look dumb.

EN→FRIn predictable Google style, it sticks with the same design philosophy as last year’s hardware shift, opting to focus more on the software side. Some appear very well-intentioned, like Camera Coach, whereas others, like Super Res Zoom, need proper testing to gauge output. The Pixel 10 starts at $799, while the Pixel 10 Pro is $999, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL is $1,199. All of these models will be available on August 27. The Pixel 10 Fold Pro will start at $1,799 and be available on October 8.
