Oui. Après avoir donné cinq étoiles aux Pixel 7a et 8a, nous n'étions pas aussi optimistes lors de nos premières impressions avec le Google Pixel 9a. Le téléphone nous a cependant surpris de manière positive, avec une bonne autonomie grâce à la batterie plus grande, et de bonnes performances de l'appareil photo, malgré la dégradation matérielle du capteur. L'avantage de Google dans le secteur du milieu de gamme n'est plus aussi important qu'auparavant, les concurrents s'améliorant en termes de performances, de qualité de l'appareil photo et surtout de support logiciel. Les téléphones de Nothing, Samsung et Xiaomi peuvent être considérés comme des alternatives valables au Pixel 9a dans la catégorie, mais le téléphone Pixel tient toujours la route en tant qu'ensemble bien équilibré.

Le Pixel 9a est-il le smartphone abordable parfait ? Pas encore, mais il s’en rapproche. À l’exception de sa charge beaucoup trop lente et de ses bordures d’écran trop épaisses, il répond à tous les besoins de n’importe quel utilisateur pour un tarif contenu. Son design minimaliste et son magnifique écran en mettent plein la vue. Le Pixel 9a est aussi très performant, endurant et son logiciel dopé à l’IA offre une expérience unique en son genre. Surtout, le Pixel 9a ne souffre d’aucune concurrence en matière de photographie. Il se permet même de se frotter à certains modèles premium vendus deux fois plus chers. Son seul rival est en réalité le Pixel 9 dont le prix a nettement baissé depuis son lancement. Mais à 550 euros, avec un suivi des mises à jour de 7 ans, le Pixel 9a s’impose comme une nouvelle référence. Un smartphone que l’on recommande à tous, les yeux fermés.

Google change de formule avec son Pixel 9a. Exit la filiation complète avec le reste de la gamme. Ici, on a droit à un nouveau design affiné qui lui va très bien. La qualité de fabrication est là malgré un cadre noir trop imposant. Ses forces, le Pixel 9a les tire de son écran extrêmement lumineux, de sa batterie enfin à la hauteur, de sa puce Tensor G4 et de son capteur photo principal. Un quatuor d'atouts qui le pousse en avant. Surtout, si les « a » tendaient à ne plus être concurrentiels, le Pixel 9a prouve qu'il est une proposition tout à fait viable sur son segment.

Vous avez l'impression que nous avons passé notre temps dans ce test à vous dire que le Pixel 9a était le meilleur ? C'est peut-être parce qu'il l'est. Dans sa catégorie de prix, difficile de trouver mieux que le Pixel 9a. Quel que soit le critère que l'on regarde, le smartphone de Google survole le jeu : l'écran est exceptionnel et bien calibré, l'autonomie va plus loin que tous les autres, la puce survole le jeu (hors iPhone), et la durée de mise à jour est la meilleure du marché, quel que soit le prix. Alors bien sûr, il enregistre ici ou là quelques petites concessions à l'image de ses bordures autour de l'écran un peu épaisses ou de son dos en plastique qui n'a pas le cachet du verre. Mais son plus gros défaut est sans aucun doute sa charge bien trop longue.

Esthétiquement, le Pixel 9a est sans conteste moins sexy que ses prédécesseurs. Mais, promis, on s’y fait. Et on s’y fait a plus forte raison que toute considération esthétique mise à part, le nouveau midrange de Google est un formidable smartphone. Parfaitement équilibré, offrant des performances redoutables, il brille surtout par une autonomie incroyable malgré un écran beaucoup plus lumineux qu’auparavant. Servi par un logiciel impeccable et des promesses de mises à jour généreuses, il ne pêche selon nous que sur certains aspects pardonnables tels que l’absence de Wi-Fi 7, un verre de protection daté ou un appareil photo avant décevant. Alors à l’heure des comptes, impossible de ne pas crier notre amour du Pixel 9a. Une nouvelle référence flamboyante qui rejoint une famille déjà riche en succès.

Heureusement quelque part, l’augmentation de prix, c’était l’année dernière et du coup, le prix n’évoluera pas dans le mauvais sens cette année pour le nouveau Google Pixel 9a. Et c’est tant mieux dans la mesure où, il faut le reconnaître, le Google Pixel 9a reste cet excellent rapport qualité-prix qu’on attendait. C’est encore plus flagrant quand on connait la concurrence sur ce segment avec les récentes annonces de Samsung, Nothing ou encore Apple. C’est d’ailleurs encore plus flagrant par rapport au nouvel iPhone d’entrée de gamme. Compact et léger, il partage la même puissance que les Pixel 9 Series, ce qui permet au Pixel 9a d’être prêt face aux futures évolutions logicielles que proposera Gemini.

Le Pixel 9a constitue un bon millésime. Ce smartphone de Google, sans augmenter le prix du 8a, améliore la prestation. Il est plus endurant, même s'il n'est pas le meilleur du marché sur ce terrain, son écran est plus lumineux et il capture des photos de qualité supérieure. Il est surtout le modèle de milieu de gamme le mieux équipé pour l'intelligence artificielle, mais aussi le plus généreux en mises à jour. Si les Pixel “a” sont de moins en moins compacts, cette itération a le mérite de n'être ni trop lourde ni trop encombrante, et s'avère assez équilibrée pour satisfaire le plus grand nombre.

All in all, the Google Pixel 9a is my best-reviewed affordable handset choice of 2025. Google certainly has a fair chunk of competition – from Nothing to Samsung and beyond – but the overall package here feels so on the cusp of flagship that it's an obvious choice. Sure, the chunky build isn't going to appeal to all, the lack of a true optical zoom camera might make you consider spending more elsewhere, but from a power, longevity and future-proofing perspective, Google has it nailed. The Pixel 9a feels like a breath of fresh air. With many aspects close to flagship grade, the Pixel 9a feels like such a fully-formed mid-level Android offering that spending more might be totally unnecessary for many. Sure, it's a little chunky and there's no true zoom camera, but that aside it's a 2025 champion with a refreshing new design. There's obvious competition from Nothing and Samsung in terms of camera offerings and finish, but for my money the Google nails it and is the choice pick.

As always, it's the camera abilities that elevates this Google mobile over many rivals. It's smart enough to capture great looking photos in almost any conditions, with a respectable video mode too. The Pixel 9a also boasts fantastic battery performance, thanks to the enlarged cell. However, gamers will be disappointed that this smartphone struggles with heavier titles like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves. Certainly blowers like the Nothing Phone 3a Pro coped better.

By all means, the Pixel 9a seems like it will be another no-frills, core experience phone at a very reasonable price. The only thing that would keep me from recommending it hands-down is the fact that mainline Pixel 9 phones often drop in price by $200, bringing it down to a 9a price tag, but giving you just a little bit extra. Of course, it can be argued that the Pixel 9a itself drops in price during those promo seasons. So, if you are looking for bang for your buck and a strong-core smartphone — you can't go wrong with this. I admit, it looks a bit bland with the new design, but at least the back is almost-flat? It doesn't feel like a premium lifestyle accessory, but again — that's not the target audience's desire here. The Pixel 9a feels like a culmination of years of refinement, and it finally feels like the one budget Pixel phone that gets almost everything right. The hardware upgrades are many, and they are meaningful: a brighter, more vivid display, a bigger battery that easily lasts a day and more, and an improved primary camera that produces stunning results in nearly all conditions. From a performance standpoint, it delivers where it matters most—daily reliability, clean software (with guaranteed seven-year software support), and AI smarts. The haptics are tight, the speakers loud and clear. Yes, there are compromises—chunky bezels, a plasticky design, underwhelming ultrawide and selfie cameras—but they feel like calculated trade-offs in a phone that’s priced more smartly than any recent Pixel a-series device. At Rs 49,999, the 9a undercuts its predecessor while offering more where it counts and is the first in the line-up that I can recommend without adding an asterisk.

There’s a lot to like about the Pixel 9a, and if you don’t want to spend a huge amount on a top-end flagship, it’s good to see that you can get good results at around half the price of some of the bigger names. On the whole, pictures produced by the 9a are very good. We’ve got good detail, nice colours and the two lenses are good, solid performers allowing you to capture ultrawide, wide and even up to 2-4x telephoto very well, despite not having a third lens available. A range of different shooting modes, plus AI editing, rounds out the camera specs sheet very nicely. I’d certainly say that this is one of the best mid-range phones out there at the moment, and I’d probably recommend it to most, with some caveats. It’s not amazing at low light, so if that’s something you do a lot, you might want to reconsider.

It's one of the few best Android phones I'd recommend for its listing price and more so if there's a carrier deal that fits your plan. But should you buy one if you're using a 1-2 year-old handset? If you love the Pixel experience software over others, want a phone that feels more premium than its price tag, and battery life that lasts and lasts, this might just top your list. At $499, there aren’t many phones I’d consider over this phone in the price range. Google nailed so much of the experience in key categories, even if it constantly reminds you that it isn’t a Pro level phone. Since it isn’t supposed to be, I think you go for it if you aren’t interested in paying close to $1,000 for your next phone.

For my part, I experienced no trouble with this phone. Overall, I adore this little phone. My main hang-up is in the design which feels lackluster and a bit too 2015-ish for my taste. If Google wants to give this phone series its own style, I'm all for that, but "no style" doesn't really feel like a style, and this is coming from a guy who wears pocket pants and plain t-shirts literally every day. Beyond the design, if you can embrace the look and the lack of telephoto camera (typically a deal-breaker for me) this is a very good phone for the money. But it's also important to remember that the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro exists, and if you don't mind cutting through a bit of red tape, you can ship that to the U.S. and it's $40 cheaper, and fixes both of my problems with this phone. But if you just want a phone that does a lot of what Google's flagships do, without the hefty price tag, this is the phone to buy.

But on the inside, the Pixel 9a largely feels the same as the 8a when you’re using it. That’s not a bad thing since the 8a was already a great phone. On the other hand, there’s nothing here that helps the Pixel 9a stand out, other than the fact it’s a far better value than the $599 iPhone 16e. If you have $500 to spend on your next phone and want the most bang for your buck, get the Pixel 9a. From the performance and cameras to the battery life and AI features, it packs a lot into the 6.1-inch design. I’ve used nothing in 2025 that can compare (at least so far).

Apple’s doing it, too, with the iPhone 16e and Apple Intelligence. This is where we’re at and what we’ll be fielding as consumers. The AI is the value-add, whether we consider it or not. On the plus side, with affordable phones like these, there is no reason to consider the most expensive pro-level smartphone your go-to unless you plan to use what you pay for.

ARM Mali-G715 MP7:

L'ARM Immortalis-G715MC11 est une carte graphique haut de gamme intégrée pour smartphone dotée de 11 des 16 cœurs possibles. Il est basé sur la troisième génération de l'architecture Valhall d'ARM et offre des performances 15 % supérieures à celles de la génération précédente. Le G715 est le premier GPU mobile prenant en charge le traçage matériel des rayons et prenant également en charge le variable rate shading (VRS).

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.
