J’ai vu le Huawei Mate X7 et c’est très frustrant

Eh oui, le Huawei Mate X7, même s’il arrive un jour en France, sera forcément peu recommandable. L’embargo américain qui frappe le constructeur chinois l’empêche d’embarquer le Play Store et les services Google sur ses smartphones. Si ce n’est pas un frein pour l’utilisateur chinois, pour un consommateur français, il faut savoir où on met les pieds avant d’acheter un produit Huawei. Et elle vient de là la frustration. Depuis l’Europe, nous voyons Huawei faire des produits très intéressants et même lancer avec succès son propre système d’exploitation HarmonyOS totalement indépendant d’Android (la version européenne d’HarmonyOS reste basée sur Android cependant). Quand on sait à quel point Huawei est fort sur la photo par exemple, on aurait aimé voir un tel concurrent venir chercher des noises au leader Samsung pour dynamiser encore plus ce marché. Certes, le segment des smartphones pliables est très niche, mais quoi qu’on en dise, il suscite toujours la curiosité.

We really enjoyed our time with the Huawei Mate X7 - we loved the leather-like back, the thin profile, and the two great screens. Battery life and charging speed turned out solid, too. The camera department was also one of the phone's highlights. The primary camera on the Mate X7 offers excellent photos and videos, and notably better performance in low-light conditions compared to the Mate X6. We only wish the white balance were a bit more consistent and that the telephoto cam's low-light performance could be optimized a bit more. The Kirin 9030 is extracting as much performance as possible from its fabrication process. However, on a constrained node and with limited architectural headroom, any performance gains will come at the expense of higher power draw, and that's pushing the thermal limits of a thin smartphone chassis.

Qualcomm Maleoon 935: Puce graphique pour smartphones et tablettes, intégrée dans le HiSilicon Kirin 9020. Malheureusement, Huawei ne fournit pas d'informations détaillées. Ce qui est certain, c'est qu'elle ne prend pas en charge le ray tracing basé sur le matériel et qu'elle ne prend en charge que l'ancienne norme Vulkan 1.0.
Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.
