Le Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x est plus qu’un ultraportable supplémentaire avec une bonne dalle Oled (malgré les reflets) et un boîtier fin et bien fini. Il est aussi le porteur d’une nouvelle voie pour les PC sous Windows. Car derrière quelques petits ratés logiciels, l’expérience est plutôt réussie. Windows est réactif, la majeure partie des programmes sont également exécutés. Autrement dit, le Yoga Slim 7x ne manque pas de puissance et assure avant tout une autonomie extraordinaire, digne d’un Apple MacBook. L’avenir du PC est encore un peu cher, mais il existe.

Lenovo nous a promis un écran OLED sublime, et il n'a pas menti ! Il réussit presque à nous faire oublier que la véritable star de la configuration est l'intégration du Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, qui comme tous ses autres compères lui permet d'atteindre une quinzaine d'heures d'autonomie sans le moindre problème. Un vrai plaisir pour un PC Windows. Maintenant, voilà : Copilot+ est toujours un label gimmick qui peine à vendre l'intérêt de l'intelligence artificielle dans les usages, et Lenovo n'a pas particulièrement bien optimisé son SoC pour offrir les meilleures performances en multi comme en single core. Reste que la compétition avec Intel et AMD est toujours réelle, en attendant une prochaine génération de GPU intégrés. Et surtout, le Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 reste une proposition bien conçue au design relativement original qui est parfaitement confortable au quotidien.

The Snapdragon processor shows lots of promise for Qualcomm's invasion into the PC space, but the integrated graphics limit the upside a bit for creative pros with high processing demands.

There are two key points to consider here. First, from a purely technical perspective, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x is a remarkable laptop. It excels in day-to-day tasks such as office work, web browsing, and light content creation like photo editing in Lightroom. It delivers impressive battery life without compromising performance, thanks to the energy efficiency of the Snapdragon X Elite platform, even with its high-resolution OLED display. However, it’s not without flaws. The absence of a USB-A port, audio jack, and microSD card reader might be a drawback for some. Additionally, gaming isn’t its strong suit, with Shadow of the Tomb Raider running at just 25fps at Medium settings, though it’s unlikely that users of this laptop would be seeking a serious gaming machine.

What the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x lacks in power, it makes up for in practicality. It’s fine-tuned for common everyday tasks like web surfing, watching videos, and doing a bit of photoshopping. The picture-perfect 600-nit HDR OLED display and rich sound system are a joy to use. Add the Yoga Slim 7x’s good looks and ergonomics and 19-hour battery life and the $1,200 (or less) laptop is a proper MacBook-killer. The largest concern when testing the Slim 7x was software compatibility issues since the Snapdragon X Elite processor uses a different architecture than Intel and AMD processors. While I didn’t run into any Arm-related compatibility issues apart from gaming, it’s possible you might run across a piece of older or more complicated software that can’t translate the functions to work beyond a x86 environment.

Right now, the Yoga Slim 7x is on sale for $1,039 -- a competitive price -- but if you're looking for a less expensive Copilot+ PC (and are willing to significantly downgrade the display), the HP OmniBook X 14 will run you $949. If you like this laptop's stats but want a bigger screen, check out the Asus Vivobook S 15. Creators might also appreciate the fact that Lenovo is also giving two free months of Adobe Creative Cloud with the purchase of any new Yoga laptop.

It has the battery life to challenge a MacBook Air, a chipset powerful enough for most desktop duties, and a gorgeous OLED screen that’s equally suited to productivity and play. Connectivity is quick, but limited, and ARM emulation doesn’t yet play nicely with every app or program – though that’s Microsoft and Qualcomm’s jobs to fix. First, you may be curious about Snapdragon X Elite PCs in general. If so, you should probably do some research to see whether the applications you depend on run on Snapdragon X Elite PCs in general.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x 14 could potentially be one of the best laptops on the market, especially in the 14-inch sector. My only real gripe is the abysmal port selection that many other laptops in the same market beat out. But then again, if Apple can get away with it, Lenovo most likely can too. Qualcomm Adreno X1-85 3.8 TFLOPS: Il s'agit d'un adaptateur graphique intégré dont sont équipés plusieurs processeurs Snapdragon X Elite et X Plus. L'Adreno ne prend pas en charge les écrans SUHD 4320p et, en ce qui concerne les performances, il n'est pas beaucoup plus rapide que l'iGPU Intel Iris Xe 96 EU vieillissant.

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

Le X1E-78-100 est le membre le plus lent de la famille de produits Snapdragon X Elite, en date de mai 2024 ; en tant que tel, il possède 12 cœurs de CPU Oryon (8 cœurs P et 4 cœurs E) fonctionnant à 3,4 GHz maximum et un GPU Adreno de 3,8 TFLOPS. Un NPU Hexagon de 45 TOPS, un contrôleur de mémoire LPDDR5x-8448 d'une rapidité impressionnante, la prise en charge de l'USB 4.0, de la TB 4 et de la PCIe 4 sont inclus pour adoucir l'affaire.
