Le Redmagic 11 Pro est un smartphone de niche qui assume pleinement ses priorités. Redmagic a construit une machine à jouer redoutablement efficace, avec un système de refroidissement actif qui fonctionne réellement et qui permet d'exploiter le Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 dans des conditions thermiques optimales. Les performances brutes sont au rendez-vous, la batterie tient la distance, l'écran sans encoche est spectaculaire. C'est exactement ce qu'on attend d'un flagship gaming. Mais ces qualités ont un prix. La photo reste médiocre pour un smartphone à 700 €, le système d'exploitation manque de finesse malgré des progrès notables, et certaines fonctionnalités comme l'assistant IA MORA semblent sorties tout droit de 2018.

Si vous aimez jouer sur mobile, le RedMagic 11 Pro est certainement le téléphone qu'il vous faut. C'est le plus puissant smartphone à être passé entre nos mains, avec une marge largement suffisante pour tenir de nombreuses années avant de voir apparaître le premier ralentissement. Encore faut-il trouver un usage à cette débauche de puissance et ce n'est pas sur Android que vous le trouverez pour le moment. Mais c'est un smartphone avant tout, et plutôt bon il faut bien l'admettre. Son volet photo est encore à la peine par rapport aux géants du marché, mais c'est là le tribut à payer pour un appareil sans protubérance. En revanche, RedMagic va devoir s'améliorer sur son support logiciel : deux versions d'Android, c'est bien trop peu en comparaison des 5 à 7 ans de mises à jour proposés par certains concurrents.

Le REDMAGIC 11 Pro représente une amélioration assez douce du 10S Pro. Malgré ses nouveautés importantes (le refroidissement liquide, les apports de la puce Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5), il ne donne pas vraiment l’impression de pouvoir en faire plus, alors qu’il est vendu (légèrement) plus cher. On reste abasourdis par la puissance de la dernière puce de Qualcomm, et par la capacité du smartphone à conserver une température assurant une stabilité impeccable en toute circonstance. L’autre atout phare du produit est son autonomie : vous pourrez vous tenir éloigné d’un chargeur pendant au moins deux jours entiers ! Cela étant dit, et même si le rapport qualité-prix est excellent, le REDMAGIC 11 Pro est toujours un smartphone gaming très… asiatique, avec tout ce que cela suppose de problèmes de traductions, de fonctionnalités excentriques et de légèreté sur l’IA.

It’s the first I've tested running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, which is as fast as mobile chipsets get. Even with RedMagic’s new liquid cooling system, in conjunction with its best cooling fan yet, I remain a little dubious about sustained performance over extended periods, but there’s no doubting the RedMagic 11 Pro runs demanding games beautifully. That’s aided by the usual RedMagic flourishes like mappable gaming controls and a dedicated gaming interface, accessed through a special hardware switch. The REDMAGIC 11 Pro's upgraded heat-dissipation tech now includes liquid cooling and works beautifully, even with your game's settings maxed out.
