Mignon et abordable. Au premier abord, le HP 15s laisse une bonne impression, et possède les forces et faiblesses de cette gamme de prix. Mais avant tout, il faudra veiller à ralentir le ventilateur, qui est trop présent, et corriger de petits problèmes graphiques. Dans la version testée, le HP 15s est adapté à ceux qui n’en demandent pas trop. Le système fait son office, et les utilisations classiques, telles la navigation ou l’utilisation de médias, ne posent aucuns problèmes. Nous apprécions le design de la machine, et la qualité de construction est également bonne. L’autonomie de 6 heures est elle aussi satisfaisante.

Alors que le HP 15s devrait pouvoir séduire la plupart des utilisateurs, ceux qui voudraient avoir une machine optimisée devront accepter des compromis.

C’est seulement en y regardant de plus près que certains défauts deviendront visibles. Ils ne sont pas trop graves, mais pourront en énerver certains après l’achat. On peut toujours accepter que le HP 15s ne soit pas du tout évolutif. Mais le comportement étrange du ventilateur, qui a même un effet négatif sur le profil d’alimentation « Performances optimales », est plus critique. Afin d’avoir une meilleure utilisation du processeur, il faudra modifier manuellement le contrôle du ventilateur, mais cela augmentera largement le niveau sonore de l’appareil.
