Test de l'Acer Aspire 5 A515-43-R057 (Ryzen 5 3500U, RX Vega 8, FHD) : portable AMD abordable, avec un gros défaut

Une portable Zen+ abordable mais décevant. Le dernier PC portable à petit prix d’Acer paraît excellent sur le papier. L’Aspire 5 A515-43-R057 est vendu environ 500 €, mais intègre un APU Zen+, un SSD de 1 To, et 8 Go de RAM. Mais tout n’est pas rose, comme notre rapport de test va le montrer.

Le temps de réponse d'un écran mesure la rapidité à laquelle l'écran est capable de changer une couleur pour une autre. Un temps de réponse élevé se traduit par une image floutée pour les objets en mouvement. Les joueurs bénéficieront de faibles latences d'affichage en jeu.

Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion)

Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Si la fréquence est trop basse, certaines personnes peuvent être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire, des maux de tête ou même percevoir les variations.
Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) décelé 178 Hz ≤ 10 Niveau de luminosité

Le rétroéclairage de l'écran scintille à la fréquence de 178 Hz (certainement du fait de l'utilisation d'une MDI - Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) à un niveau de luminosité inférieur ou égal à 10 % . Aucun scintillement ne devrait être perceptible au-dessus de cette valeur.

La fréquence de rafraîchissement de 178 Hz est relativement faible, les personnes les plus sensibles devraient percevoir un scintillement et être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire accrue (avec le niveau de luminosité indiqué)

En comparaison, 51 % des appareils testés n'emploient pas MDI pour assombrir leur écran. Nous avons relevé une moyenne à 9364 (minimum : 43 - maximum : 142900) Hz dans le cas où une MDI était active.

L’Acer Aspire 5 A515-43-R057 est une occasion manquée. Théoriquement, l’appareil devrait être une affaire, pour 500 €, proposant un processeur puissant et plus de stockage que la plupart de ses concurrents. Notre modèle possède des périphériques d’entrée corrects, est rigide, et possède une autonomie comparativement bonne, ce qui rend ses faibles performances du processeur encore plus frustrantes.

Ceux qui recherchent un portable correct et abordable tomberont certainement sur l’Aspire 5 515-43-R057. Mais ses performances auraient dû être bien meilleures…

En bref, le Ryzen 5 3500U de l’A515-43-R057 ne répond pas à nos attentes dans la plupart des scénarios d’usage. Permettre le mode double canal en ajoutant un deuxième module de RAM pourrait légèrement améliorer les performances, mais ici c’est très probablement le système de refroidissement sous-dimensionné qui est à la source du problème. Dans l’ensemble, si l’Acer Aspire A515-43-R057 est un portable à petit prix correct, il aurait pu faire bien mieux, eût-il été équipé d’un meilleur refroidissement.
