Critiques

EN→FRIf there’s one thing I value most in a smartphone, it’s the camera. Capturing moments and chasing beautiful frames has always been my favourite side quest. So when the Vivo X300 landed on my desk, I had a feeling I was in for a good time. Vivo’s latest flagship, priced just under Rs 1 lakh, enters one of the most demanding segments in the market, a space where users expect everything from top-tier performance to a top-tier camera system and a design that stands out. And at first glance, the X300 certainly tries to deliver, right down to its oddly satisfying velvet-textured glass back.

EN→FRIf you want a compact flagship that prioritises camera performance without forcing you to lug a larger phone, the Vivo X300 is one of the best options in the market right now. It combines a genuinely pocketable size, a bright and adaptive LTPO display, flagship-level performance (thanks to Dimensity 9500), and a camera system that punches well above its weight. What’s good: Compact and comfortable design; excellent, bright 120Hz LTPO display; flagship performance with controlled thermals; a camera system that delivers vivid, textured images and solid low-light shots; long battery life for the size and very fast 90W charging. What could have been better: Speakers and haptics are competent but not class-leading; some AI processing can be a bit heavy in certain scenes; if you absolutely need the most extreme telephoto or the Pro’s largest battery, the X300 Pro still has the edge.

EN→FROverall, vivo has delivered a flagship device with virtually no compromises. It offers stellar camera performance, a premium minimalist design, strong battery life, and top-tier internals. While the price may not be accessible to everyone, it competes strongly with other flagship models on the market. Its compact size may be a deal breaker for some, but for others, myself included, it stands out as one of its best features. If you’re in the market for a new flagship smartphone, the vivo X300 is definitely worth considering.

EN→FRBased on early impressions, the Vivo X300 delivers a compelling flagship experience in a compact body, with a strong focus on imaging performance. It appears to be well-positioned for users who prioritise portability without wanting to compromise on camera capability, performance, or software longevity. While its starting Rs 75,999 pricing is slightly higher compared to last year’s X200, the increase is backed by noticeable hardware and software upgrades. However, the real area of concern in comparison to the competition is the battery, which our review will address in detail, along with a detailed look at whether OriginOS 6 is a hit or a miss for Vivo in the country.

EN→FRThe Vivo X300 is an attractive package, especially considering its price tag of Rs 75,999. It strikes a fine balance between performance, design, display, battery life and camera capabilities, without feeling forced. The design is sleek and lightweight, featuring a premium finish, IP68/IP69 protection and an ergonomically comfortable design that allows for all-day use. The 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display stands out not only for its brightness and vibrant colours, but also for its reference-level colour accuracy, making it ideal for both daily viewing and content creation. Performance is solid for daily use and multitasking, with the Dimensity 9500, up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage delivering snappy responsiveness and smooth app handling.

EN→FRThe Vivo X300 comes as a surprise package and impresses across the board. Whether it be its compact size, design, or build quality, the phone feels premium the moment you hold it in your hand. The handset also comes with a vibrant display that delivers smooth visuals and rich colours. Vivo also solved the biggest problem of compact smartphones: the battery. The handset, despite its small form factor, delivers almost a full day of battery life. The Vivo X300 seems to be a good flagship smartphone that can give Samsung and Apple a run for their money. I also appreciate the company's efforts to develop OriginOS, which is now much smoother and more fluid than the outdated FunTouchOS. Although the latest iOS version inspires it, I still found it refreshing to use.

EN→FRIt’s rare these days to find a genuinely compact flagship that doesn’t feel like a compromise, and that’s exactly where the Vivo X300 stands out. It’s small, comfortable to use, and easy to handle with one hand, yet it still feels every bit like a high-end phone. It has the power, the build quality, the cameras, and the software polish you’d expect from a proper flagship. Compared to the X200, the X300 feels much more refined. The display is brighter outdoors, the cameras are more consistent, the overall performance is smoother, and the switch to OriginOS takes the user experience up a level. Everything feels more complete this time, like Vivo didn’t hold back just because this is the smaller model. What I like most about the X300 is how balanced it feels.

EN→FRSo, overall, as someone who personally loves compact devices, I have had a great experience using the Vivo X300. As I said earlier, there is very little to no compromise here — the design feels premium, the display is solid, the battery life is probably one of the best on a compact phone, performance is flagship level, and the cameras more than justify the price. Of course, if it had a slightly more aggressive cooling system, this phone would have nailed the gaming aspect too, but for someone like me who isn’t a lot into gaming and just wants a good flagship Android experience in a compact size, this is a great phone.

EN→FRThe Vivo X300 is a pretty good smartphone, but it doesn't try to win you over with an aggressive price-tag. It's placed somewhere between an iPhone 17 and Galaxy S25 Plus in Europe, so it is confident in what it has to offer, and it asks confidence from whoever is going to buy it. Is it worth the price? Well, it definitely performs just as well, or outperforms its contemporaries in some categories. Its display is amazing, its camera is very good, its performance is up there with the best of them. Its stile is distinct — even if the software tries to copy iOS a little bit. The only reason you wouldn't go for the Vivo X300 straight away is concerns about software and support. Vivo promises up to 5 major Android updates, 7 years of security patches, with is pretty great. The question is how fast they would roll out.

Mogę polecić go każdemu, kto szuka małego smartfona do grania, fotografowania czy z dobrą baterią.

EN→FRThe Vivo X300 was announced in October 2025. Vivo released the phone as a flagship device with a premium glass-and-aluminum alloy build. First of all, it features a compact 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display that is exceptionally bright, reaching up to 4500 nits with advanced eye comfort technology. The screen also offers a 120Hz refresh rate and is protected by reinforced glass with Mohs level 4 hardness. The device is built to withstand tough conditions with its IP68/IP69 rating for dust and high-pressure water resistance. It supports multiple SIM configurations, including eSIM for international models, providing great flexibility for travelers. Powered by the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, the Vivo X300 uses an octa-core CPU. Graphics are handled by the Arm G1-Ultra GPU, ensuring excellent performance for gaming and multitasking.

EN→FRVivo set out to build a compact flagship without obvious compromises, and the X300 comes impressively close. It combines a refined, minimal design with excellent ergonomics, a bright 120Hz LTPO display, and a camera system that is powerful even if it sits just below the X300 Pro. Add in the large 6040mAh battery, fast 90W wired and 40W wireless charging, and long-term software support, and you get a small phone that consistently behaves like a big flagship. It is not a perfect fit for everyone, especially at a price that puts it against Apple, Samsung, and Google. You do not get the strongest ecosystem story or the longest software support. However, if you care most about a compact form factor, strong battery life, and one of the best camera setups in this size class, the X300 stands out clearly. It feels less like a cut-down Pro model and more like a confident compact flagship in its own right.

Reviewing the Vivo X300 Pro and comparing vs the regular X300 phone, to see how they stack up for camera tech, gaming prowess, battery life and beyond. This flagship pair are among the best smartphones of 2025, boasting optics that are brilliant for everyday shots and video - especially that Vivo X300 Pro, which upgrades the hardware in key ways. I've been testing the more premium model as my full-time handset this past week, so here's my verdict. Battery life is also at the top of the game, whatever your choice. The regular model does a fantastic job at any time of day, pumping out attractive portrait photos. However, it's the Vivo X300 Pro which truly excels at night, even with the zoom lens. And that's without the Photography Kit too.

EN→FRThe vivo X300 turned out to be an exemplary phone in pretty much every department - size, design and build, battery life, screen quality, camera experience, and OriginOS got a massive upgrade that made vivo's phones on par with all recent Androids. And that's just great! The vivo X300 impressed us with its smooth design and its super bright screen that has an impressively dynamic refresh rate. The battery life is a blast, too. The X300 is part of the vivo's photography flagship series and it does not disappoint - all four cameras deliver superb photo and video quality during the day. While the low-light photos remain impressive, the videos are somewhat average and that's our only remark here. We are glad that vivo has worked a lot on OriginOS and the underlying Android, and it has made some impressive improvements.

EN→FRThe X300 series is now official in China, and there's no clear commitment on vivo's part to make the phones global. There's some hope, though, as OriginOS 6, which made its Chinese debut last week, is expected to go global in a few days. Last year, we had a global X200 Pro, making a global X300 Pro logical, at the very least. We'll have to wait and see.But having had some time with the vivo X300 and X300 Pro, we can say we like them. They feel better in the hand than their predecessors and feel more complete as a series. That's mainly due to their sizes, which cover just about anyone who doesn't want a foldable. The change-up in build is welcome. A glossy and overly curved phone feels outdated in this world of flat, matte, slab phones we live in. Usher in the flatter, matter vivo X300 Pro with vivo's excellent cameras and software, and you've got yourself a better phone than the X200 Pro.

Critiques

EN→FRVivo’s X series has been quite instrumental in establishing a strong foothold of the brand in India. The newest member in the family, Vivo X300 Pro, builds upon this legacy and of the Vivo X200 Pro, and elevates the camera experience to much greater height for which the series is known for. No phone camera comes anywhere close to it. Launched alongside the base variant, the Vivo X300 Pro uses MediaTek processor and the newly embedded OriginOS with better customisation and cross-device connectivity, leveraging AI.

EN→FRAlso, the Origin OS6, though much improved, take some getting used to. Soon after setting up, I realised my lock screen was getting a bit too busy for my liking and was worried it had been taken over by some buggy app. But then I adjusted the settings to a theme that was more iOS-like and subtle. My issue with the latter was that such settings should be user-initiated and not default. Overall, the vivo X300 Pro came across as a very capable phone, but one you might buy primarily for its camera. The camera continues to be a stunner, giving most smartphones a run for their money. However, the phone is also a missed opportunity in some ways, as there could have been more improvements if there really had to be a jump from X200 to X300.

EN→FRAll the waiting we’ve done for Vivo to bring their flagship smartphone series back to Singapore has paid off. The Vivo X300 Pro is a magnificent re-entry that ticks nearly all the boxes needed for a flagship handset, on top of its extraordinary battery life, fantastic cameras and exceptional day-to-day performance. Coupled with the switch to OriginOS, and the X300 Pro feels like a real upgrade for people who like having a more polished experience than FunTouch OS had. If Vivo treated its X300 Pro like a proper premium product by removing bloatware and advertisements, it would be another serious contender in an already crowded Android space. Even the price seems reasonable, albeit high.

EN→FRThe Vivo X300 Pro is a predictably great flagship phone. Vivo has not tried to reinvent what already worked on the X100 Pro and X200 Pro. Instead, it has tightened the screws where it matters. The primary and telephoto deliver stunning photos, the ultrawide has quietly levelled up, and the selfie camera finally gets autofocus. Add the optional ZEISS telephoto extender kit on top, which is more affordable than the Find X9 Pro’s kit, and you are looking at a phone that blurs the line between a camera phone and a compact camera system. Beyond imaging, the X300 Pro feels like a grown-up flagship. The move to a flat design makes it more practical to hold and use, even if it is not the most eye-catching phone on the table.

EN→FRThe vivo X300 Pro is a strong contender for one of the best camera phones on the market, owing to fantastic camera zoom, a slick main camera, and a ton of photo/video options. Fortunately, the phone also delivers a much-needed software overhaul, fast wired/wireless charging, a durable IP rating, and a responsive fingerprint scanner. It’s not all great, though. The biggest issue is that many countries will receive a downgraded battery, resulting in disappointing endurance. vivo doesn’t really have an excuse when flagships from stablemates OPPO and OnePlus offer huge batteries thanks to dual-cell designs. Otherwise, performance under sustained load is a concern, the ultrawide camera feels like an afterthought once again, and there aren’t many AI features outside of photography tools.

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, the phone delivers strong performance while maintaining impressive thermal efficiency—a standout trait when competitors struggle with overheating. The 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display is gorgeous, pushing past 1,800 nits in real-world brightness testing, and vivo’s confidence in battery optimization is evident from shipping with the higher resolution enabled by default. Speaking of battery, the 6,510mAh cell delivers nearly 13 hours of screen-on time and charges fully in under 40 minutes with the included 90W charger. EN→FRThe Vivo X300 Pro carries forward the X-series legacy with a camera system that remains among the best you can buy. It’s not just about capturing vibrant, social-ready shots, the X300 Pro often delivers results that genuinely edge into camera-like territory, especially with its versatile zoom performance and reliable colour science. What strengthens the package this year is everything beyond photography. OriginOS 6 feels noticeably more refined than FunTouchOS 15, the new Shortcut Button adds real utility, and the Dimensity 9500 delivers flagship-level responsiveness without breaking a sweat. Battery life is solid, and 90W fast charging keeps downtime minimal. There are still areas where Vivo can improve, particularly with software stability in some parts of the UI and more consistent low-light video performance. Priced at Rs 109,999, the Vivo X300 Pro should be a top consideration for anyone prioritising camera excellence, while also wanting a polished, powerful flagship experience overall.

Its premium flat design feels bulky, but the display and performance impress. The camera, with its AI tools, caters perfectly to photographers, while the battery life ensures all-day reliability. Is it the best smartphone? In camera capabilities, absolutely, surpassing even the Pixel 10 Pro. It’s ideal for gamers and multitaskers, with only minor drawbacks like the lack of a shutter button and some warmth. Vivo has truly delivered with the X300 Pro, marking it as future-proof excellence.

EN→FRThe vivo X300 Pro represents a compelling flagship offering that excels where it matters most to photography enthusiasts. The camera system is the phone’s crowning achievement.

EN→FRThe vivo X300 Pro is a standout upgrade at ₹1,09,999, competing directly with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra in imaging and efficiency thanks to the Dimensity 9500 and Zeiss optics.

EN→FRAt Rs. 109,999, the Vivo X300 Pro is an excellent camera phone for everyday adventures. Get the Telephoto Extender Kit at Rs. 18,999, and you don't just have a regular smartphone but a camera powerhouse. Much like the X200 Pro (Review), the X300 Pro has been designed with camera enthusiasts in mind, but by adding support for the Telephoto Extender Kit, Vivo has tipped us off that we may not see the Ultra in India for some time. But never mind, the X300 Pro delivers full value at this price, and you won't be unimpressed with the cameras. Apart from the camera setup, the X300 Pro is a great flagship smartphone for everyday use. It can handle anything and everything you want from a premium-end device. Performance-wise, there are no complaints, and the battery should impress as well.

EN→FROverall, the vivo X300 Pro is an amazing phone to own. It’s a great all-rounder, whether you need a capable camera, a powerful chipset, or even a long-lasting battery. The updates with OriginOS also make life easier, and you can even share photos and videos with your friends using iPhones with the Easy Share function. Seems like the perfect phone, right? Well, there’s just one slight problem – the price. It’s not exactly the most affordable vivo smartphone out there since it is a flagship model. For reference, our review unit in the 16+512GB configuration retails for PHP 77,999. Then again, you do get what you pay for with everything that it offers. As for the Photographer Kit, if you’re not trying to take photos of birds or even not really into photography or videography, there’s no need for you to get it.

EN→FRIts MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset edges out the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 4 used in many 2025 flagships. In Geekbench 6, the Vivo (3,403 for single and 10,010 for multi) even runs the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max (3,715 for single and 9,497 for multi) close. Do note that this powerful chipset gets warm when running an intensive app or game. There is a good amount of throttling in 3DMark's Wild Life Extreme stress test (performance declined by 57%). But the Vivo X300 Pro's best and worst 3DMark scores still beat the iPhone's. In short, you can confidently run all your games at the highest setting. The Vivo X300 Pro is a good deal if you manage to snag it with the pre-order freebies (till Nov 21). Otherwise, it faces stiff competition from other Chinese flagship phones as well as older (and discounted) flagship phones. But if you're even remotely interested in smartphone photography, the Vivo X300 Pro should be on your shortlist, even at its S$1,599 launch price. It's available on Shopee and Lazada.

EN→FRWith its ZEISS partnership, vivo has been making steady strides in mobile imaging with its flagship X300 series. And the Pro model is just another embodiment of that. Everything else is, for better or worse, the cherry on top. Purists may still argue that this is more a sign of an algorithmic advancement rather than one for mobile photography. While they may be right, the average consumer will probably see it as a distinction without a difference. Save for maybe that artificial bluing of the night sky. And some of the more jarring AI corrections when taking shots of subjects in motion. It is a bit of a shame that a few opportunities slipped by with the vivo X300 Pro. One example is the lack of a dedicated shutter button, pioneered by the Sony Xperia phones, and adapted by the direct competitor OPPO Find X9 Pro. But with all these in mind, RM4,699 is not an unfair ask for a phone that takes shots this good.

EN→FRAlright, so with that, we’ve come to the end of this review. And honestly speaking, I really, really love the new Vivo X300 Pro. For me, right now, this is the phone to beat. Yes, there’s still another strong contender coming up, the OPPO Find X9 Pro, which I’ve actually ordered, and it’s arriving in about a week. But what I can say for sure right now is I am not going back to my S25 Ultra. (throw S25 Ultra) This is going to be my daily driver for the next few months, just because of how ridiculously good the cameras are, especially that telephoto lens. That’s my go-to lens these days. Every time I see something interesting, that’s the one I reach for.And what I am even more excited for is the upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra, which is supposed to go global soon.

Some things could have been better, of course. We're most annoyed by vivo's decision to limit the handset's battery capacity in some markets instead of doing what was needed to make it happen. Most competitors will get you nicer speakers, low-light video quality could use some improving, and the thermal throttling, while par for the course, is still worth going into the cons list.

EN→FRAbsolutely. As of this review, the Vivo X300 Pro is arguably the best phone camera available. Asia, India, Europe, and other markets will find it easier to obtain one, whereas North Americans will have to import it. If you can buy one overseas, you won’t regret it if you want a more serious camera to go with your phone. The only problem is that it won’t come cheap. In Europe, the phone sells for €1,400, while the photography kit adds another €600. That’s expensive, and converted to USD, it gets uncomfortably close to what a good mirrorless camera can cost.

EN→FRThe Vivo X300 Pro hasn't launched internationally yet, but considering that we have a global unit in our hands — it's assumed that it will, and soon. The bad news is that it's still not coming to the US — we had that confirmed. You may be able to obtain one through resellers, but you will have to double-check and triple-check if your carrier has the needed bands for whatever unit you are looking at, and don't expect official support. While we have no pricing details for global markets, its predecessor had an MSRP of €1,299, so it'll probably be around that point. That's around the area of a 256 GB iPhone 17 Pro, or 512 GB Galaxy S25 Ultra. And the Vivo competes with those quite well — excellent camera, buttery software, all the features the competitors have, Gemini on board. It will get 4 years of Android updates, so that's less than the 7 years that Samsung and Google offer.

EN→FRThe X300 Pro doesn't differ too much from its predecessor, and that's a good thing. Vivo somehow managed to deliver even better cameras, and the result is that the X300 Pro takes the best photos of any phone available today — there's no question about that. The powerful MediaTek internals hold up to demanding tasks, most regions get a massive battery, and there isn't much to fault with the rest of the device. The software has been updated to OriginOS 6 globally, and it is much better to use than the outgoing Funtouch OS — if glitchy occasionally. On the whole, if you're looking to buy a new phone and want the best cameras and a great all-round device, the X300 Pro is the phone to beat.

EN→FRVivo’s X300 Pro feels purpose-built for anyone who values creativity and design. Thanks to the collaboration with Zeiss, the camera system truly stands out, offering a suite of features and color science that make every shot feel intentional and polished. Using this phone feels a bit like carrying a professional toolkit in your pocket, ready for anything from spontaneous street scenes to carefully composed portraits.Of course, there are trade-offs to keep in mind. Battery life under heavy camera use could be better, and while software support is solid, it does not quite match the leaders in the field. Still, for those who want their phone to be as creative as they are, the X300 Pro delivers a uniquely flexible and inspiring experience.

EN→FRAs we approach the conclusion of this review, the Vivo X300 Pro demonstrates its strengths by addressing previous uncertainties: once again reaffirming the vivo X series’ leadership in mobile imaging and its relentless spirit of innovation. Its imaging capabilities are impressive, rivaling the best flagship models from earlier generations. Whether it’s the 200-megapixel telephoto lens or the Sony LYT-828’s gimbal-grade main camera, every shot exudes confidence. Every beautiful moment visible to the naked eye is captured with remarkable clarity. After a few days of use, my enthusiasm for photography with this phone has only grown. The 2.35X teleconverter allows easy capture of distant details, while the large aperture creates a natural depth of field and excellent macro effects for close-up shots.

The Vivo X300 Pro is here. This time out, the phone gains two new image sensors -- Sony LYT828 for the main camera, and ISOCELL HPB for the Periscope cameras. Both of these were co-developed by Vivo with its respective partners. Elsewhere, the X300 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, but the battery size is a bit small at 5,440mAh.

Vivo:
