Honnêtement, nos attentes avant notre test étaient un peu plus élevées. Le HP Pavilion 15 est un appareil bon marché avec un design réussi et une bonne qualité de construction. Mais le système ne paraît pas lent, il l’est vraiment : nous avions le plaisir de tester ce Pavilion 15 (AMD Ryzen 5 2500U ) en même temps qu’un Pavilion 14 (Intel i7-8550U), et nous lancions parfois nos tests simultanément sur les deux machines. Et alors que le Pavilion Intel avait fini depuis longtemps le test, le Pavilion AMD en était toujours au milieu. Bien sûr le processeur Ryzen 5 2500U n’est pas du même niveau qu’un i7-8550U et plus proche d’un i5-8250U, mais la différence était énorme. C’est pourquoi nous ne pouvons être d’accord avec les résultats PCMark 8, qui donnent le Pavilion 15 aussi rapide que le HP Pavilion de 14 pouces.

En revanche, les performances de refroidissement et les ventilateurs silencieux sont des points positifs. Même en cas de sollicitations soutenues, il n’y a pas de surchauffe, et les températures restent maîtrisées.

HP aurait pu pousser un peu plus ce Pavilion, en le configurant avec une enveloppe thermique supérieure, ou une durée de Turbo plus élevée.

D’un autre côté, cela se serait fait au détriment de l’autonomie, qui est déjà l’un des points faibles de l’appareil. D’autre part, nos tests montrent clairement que ce portable n’est absolument pas fait pour les jeux. La carte graphique intégrée est vraiment trop faible pour pouvoir faire tourner les jeux sans ramer, même au niveau de détails le plus faible.
