Renouvellement des ProBook.Le ProBook 645 G4 est équipé d’un puissant APU AMD, de bons périphériques d’entrée, et d’un SSD NVMe rapide. Malgré son prix compris entre 900 et 1000 €, l’appareil n’est pas sans défaut : le portable possède une mauvaise autonomie et un écran sombre faiblement contrasté.

Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion)

Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Si la fréquence est trop basse, certaines personnes peuvent être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire, des maux de tête ou même percevoir les variations.
Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) décelé 100 Hz ≤ 30 Niveau de luminosité

Le rétroéclairage de l'écran scintille à la fréquence de 100 Hz (certainement du fait de l'utilisation d'une MDI - Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) à un niveau de luminosité inférieur ou égal à 30 % . Aucun scintillement ne devrait être perceptible au-dessus de cette valeur.

La fréquence de rafraîchissement de 100 Hz est extrêmement faible, de grands risques de fatigue oculaire accrue et de maux de tête en cas d'utilisation prolongée.

En comparaison, 52 % des appareils testés n'emploient pas MDI pour assombrir leur écran. Nous avons relevé une moyenne à 8773 (minimum : 43 - maximum : 142900) Hz dans le cas où une MDI était active.

Le temps de réponse d'un écran mesure la rapidité à laquelle l'écran est capable de changer une couleur pour une autre. Un temps de réponse élevé se traduit par une image floutée pour les objets en mouvement. Les joueurs bénéficieront de faibles latences d'affichage en jeu.

Le ProBook 645 G4 est un portable professionnel du milieu-de-gamme. HP renouvelle complètement le châssis. Ceux qui attendaient des matériaux haut-de-gamme seront déçus : le châssis est entièrement fait de plastique. Chez HP, seuls les appareils haut-de-gamme comme l’EliteBook 745 G5 possèdent un châssis en métal.

Le portable est équipé d’un APU Raven Ridge d’AMD, assez puissant pour n’importe quel logiciel actuel. Le processeur de l’APU possède les mêmes performances que les concurrents Intel.

Quant à la carte graphique, elle est plus puissante que les solutions Intel (UHD Graphics 620), et peut faire tourner beaucoup de jeux vidéo à de bons taux d’image - mais les plus récents ne sont jouables qu’en faible résolution et aux réglages minimums. Malheureusement, HP n’utilise pas tout le potentiel du GPU, le système tournant en mode mono canal. Nous recommandons donc d’installer un deuxième module de RAM pour permettre le mode double canal.

Le SSD NVMe permet au système d’être très réactif. Il est possible de le remplacer, mais il faudra alors retirer toute la coque inférieure. En plus du SSD M.2 2280, un emplacement pour disque dur de 2,5 pouces est disponible. Notre modèle ne possède pas de modem LTE, mais on peut en ajouter un après l’achat. Le clavier laisse une très bonne impression, et paraît adapté à une frappe régulière. Malheureusement, il ne possède pas de rétroéclairage, néanmoins disponible en option.

Le ProBook possède des faiblesses qu’un portable pro ne devrait pas avoir.

L’écran IPS mat possède de bons angles de vision. Mais sa luminosité maximale est trop faible, ainsi que son contraste. Un portable qui coûte entre 900 et 1 000 € devrait faire mieux. L’autonomie également est mauvaise : dans notre test Wifi, le ProBook tient moins de 5h - il devrait tenir au moins 2 ou 3 heures de plus.
