Vieux vin dans un vieux fût. Le convertible de 10,1 pouces d’Hewlett Packard possède un écran tactile IPS, une autonomie honnête, et reste totalement silencieux. Ses performances sont en revanche limitées - HP a choisi un processeur Atom x5 dépassé.

Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Si la fréquence est trop basse, certaines personnes peuvent être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire, des maux de tête ou même percevoir les variations.

Le x2 210 G2 est basé sur une technologie ancienne. Son processeur Atom x5-Z8350 est vieux de plusieurs années, et offre à peine assez de performances pour de la bureautique basique et les tâches Internet. Au moins la puce graphique embarque un décodeur pour la vidéo, tout en restant complètement silencieuse grâce à son refroidissement passif.

L’espace de stockage est également limité, avec juste 40 des 64 Go du stockage disponibles au démarrage. L’extension est possible, mais limitée à seulement 64 Go.

L’écran tactile IPS possède de bons angles de vision, et un contraste correct. La luminosité est acceptable, l’écran étant assez lumineux pour un usage à l’intérieur. Le clavier est honnête, tout comme l’autonomie.

Le HP x2 210 G2 est un appareil de bureau et de navigation Internet avec une bonne autonomie. Mais vu que HP l’équipe de composants dépassés et peu performants, son prix relativement élevé le rend impossible à recommander.

Le Lenovo Ideapad Miix 320-10ICR est équipé de la même façon, et peut être trouvé pour environ 200 $. Des appareils modernes avec écran détachable, comme par exemple le Lenovo Ideapad D330-10IGM récemment testé, sont bien plus puissants que x2 210 G2. À noter que la cible de HP semble être le marché de l’éduction - après tout, l’appareil est équipé du School Pack Installer, qui peut être utilisé pour télécharger divers logiciels pour l’éducation.
