C'est la plus grosse mise à jour du XPS 15 depuis 2016, mais est-ce là tout ce que les fans du XPS voulaient ? Bien sûr que non - les inconditionnels trouveront toujours à se plaindre. Mais pour les autres, la grosse évolution d'une génération à l'autre et le nouvel écran 16:10 rendent le système plus confortable à utiliser qu'avant.

It’s a rather interesting question. For me, I’ll say yes – Dell paid a lot of attention and doubled down on how to make the user experience better. We do have the highest-spec variant of the XPS 13 9300 for review, but I think you should buy the other variants instead.

The 2021 Dell XPS 15 9510 is in a better place then the previous model from 2020. It comes packed with a I7-11800H, 16GB of RAM and a RTX 3050 TI GPU. It's not perfect but it's going in the right direction!

Le Dell XPS 15 ne manque pas de séduire grâce à ces nombreux atouts et à la souplesse assurée par ses diverses options d’écrans, de processeurs, mémoire vive et ainsi de suite. Du design à la connectique, en passant par l’écran, il n’y a pas grand-chose à redire de l’offre de Dell qui aligne les bons points pour ceux qui recherchent un ordinateur portable polyvalent et fonctionnel. C’est finalement du côté des performances que ce modèle se montre moins à l’aise, en raison d’une intégration CPU/GPU à la puissance limitée par rapport à d’autres machines, ce qui n’en fait clairement pas le meilleur rapport performances/prix du marché. Il faut toutefois resituer cette offre, car globalement les laptops dédiés aux créateurs s’affichent avec des tarifs encore plus corsés, on pense par exemple au MacBook Pro 16 pour ne citer que lui. En revanche, la montée en puissance est perceptible par rapport au modèle de l’an passé et les performances restent tout à fait correctes pour un laptop comme celui-ci. De plus, le refroidissement très discret, et souvent silencieux, est un atout de taille pour beaucoup.

Dell’s XPS 15 has long been one of my favorite laptops. I’ve always found it to be the right balance of power and portability. It offered 45W H-series processors and dedicated graphics in a world where if you wanted those things, you’d have to look toward gaming laptops. In more recent years, laptops like these have become more common. NVIDIA launched its Studio program, and more OEMs are targeting creators with separate lines of PCs from their gaming laptops. But while the form factor is becoming more common, the Dell XPS 15 remains on top. The XPS 15 9510 comes with new Intel 11th-generation 45W processors, along with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series graphics, making it the first XPS 15 with RTX. On top of that, it comes with other perks, such as the return of the OLED display and the Frost and Arctic White interior. Not only is it a great PC, but it’s beautiful too. The big downside of course, is it still has a 720p webcam.

Straight to the point, there's a lot to like about Dell's upgraded XPS 15 (9510) with the OLED display option -- and very little to dislike. The physical design is unchanged from last year's model, though quite frankly, we appreciate that Dell stuck with a mold that hits the mark, as opposed to forcing a change simply for the sake of change. This is a sturdy laptop imbued with premium craftsmanship, so no complaints there. We also really like the aesthetic combination of a 'Frost' exterior and 'Arctic White' interior on the model we received. Overall, the pros heavily outweigh the cons. The XPS 15 (9510) is a workhorse with a great trackpad, a gorgeous OLED screen, and an attractive design, packaged in a thin and light chassis. This is all punctuated by long battery life. It's a bit on the pricey side as configured, though the starting price is significantly lower. Either way, this is yet another excellent iteration of the XPS 15 that hits the mark.

The Dell XPS 15 OLED 2022 (starting at $1,449, $2,299 as tested) isn’t an innovative or revolutionary laptop. Aside from its updated internals, it’s virtually identical to the Dell XPS 15 OLED 2021. But while this machine isn't shaking things up, it's still one of the best laptops and best Windows laptops you can buy. All models of the refreshed Dell XPS 15 pack the latest 12th gen Intel Core CPUs and come bundled with Windows 11. Higher-end configurations feature an Nvidia 30-series GPU. Like last year's iteration, Dell offers a model with a 3.5K OLED touch display. Not only is this a stellar laptop for everyday use, but it’s also a competent gaming machine. Though it’s admittedly pricey, it’s hard to argue against its impressive performance. It can handle almost anything you throw at it.

On adore pouvoir jouer à des jeux avec des paramètres de détails sérieux sur un ordinateur portable à l'allure classique, et pouvoir utiliser un simple chargeur USB-C. Avec 1,8 kg sur la balance, ce n'est pas un ordinateur portable que vous voudrez transporter tous les jours dans un sac à bandoulière. Pour un écran plus grand et un poids plus léger, il faut se tourner vers l'excellente gamme Gram de LG. 90% Test du Dell XPS 15 (2023) : l’excellence continue

Il y a évidemment toujours des petites choses à dire, peu importe les ordinateurs. Sur cet XPS 15 de 2023, on aurait apprécié la couverture de l'espace DCI-P3 et un plus haut taux de rafraîchissement pour son écran. Nous aurions aimé voir une connectique encore un peu plus élargie. Nous aurions même bien voulu voir un renouveau de la suite logicielle de Dell, aujourd'hui un brin trop éclatée. Mais voilà : la réalité du Dell XPS 15, c'est qu'il est la digne suite de l'excellence déjà offerte par ses aînés des autres années. Le couple i7 13e gen et RTX 4050 à 50W permet de débloquer de beaux usages pour les créatifs (et uniquement les créatifs), et ce sans devoir faire brûler et crier l'ordinateur pour cela. La dalle reste extrêmement lumineuse et de très bonne qualité pour de l'IPS LCD. Et rares sont les PC capables de délivrer une telle autonomie pour une telle polyvalence. Sans compter bien sûr l'excellence du travail d'ingénierie de Dell, dans son design comme dans son expérience audio toujours supérieure à la norme.

To be honest, the XPS 15 9530 is not a regular laptop. And it shouldn’t be treated as such. If we do that, it might appear that this is not a particularly good machine. Take the crude numbers from the temperature test for example. Looking at them, you won’t be able to see how quietly the device performed, even when the “Ultra Performance” profile was used. However, in real life, the machine does exactly what you need it to. It comes with a comfortable keyboard and touchpad, as well as fantastic speakers. The 3W woofers produce a vibration like no other. That’s definitely not bad for a device that hasn’t changed a bit in the past three years (or more). Thankfully, its battery life is so long that you can comfortably work for two days straight if you don’t have anything intensive to do on your laptop. All in all, this proves that despite the zero effort from the design department this year, and the mild change in generations, the Dell XPS 15 9530 is still one of the best workhorse devices you can get.

A Timeless Best in CLASS Classic // 2023 Dell XPS 15 Arc A370M

To me this is the epitome of classic premium Windows laptop. This was the first Windows laptop I EVER purchased and I think it is still one of the best Windows laptop money can buy. The Dell XPS 15 that I’ve tested comes with the Intel Arc A370M and i7-13700H!

This Dell XPS 15 is the first Windows lap[top I ever purchased. I bought this laptop in 2017 when Apple was taking a major sabbatical from improving their laptops due to their focus on launch their own M-Series chips. The Dell XPS 15 is still one of the best premium laptops money can buy. It has a beautiful aluminum chassis, carbon fiber keyboard deck and strong components. It's truly a classic!

Dell est un fabricant américain (basé au Texas) de matériel informatique fondé en 1984 et l'un des plus grands fabricants internationaux en termes de parts de marché et de modèles d'ordinateurs portables. Sa gamme de produits comprend des ordinateurs de bureau, des ordinateurs portables, des systèmes de stockage, des moniteurs, des serveurs, des imprimantes, des appareils électroniques grand public et des périphériques. Dell propose des ordinateurs portables adaptés à diverses applications, telles que les ordinateurs portables professionnels, les ordinateurs portables de jeu, les ultra-portables et les postes de travail. Les ordinateurs portables professionnels Dell des séries Latitude et Precision sont une option pour les utilisateurs professionnels et les entreprises.

En 2023, Dell détenait une part de marché d'environ 17 % des ventes mondiales de PC, se classant au troisième rang après Lenovo et HP.

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

Intel UHD Graphics 630:

GPU intégré (GT2) avec 24 UEs que l'on trouve dans certains modèles de CPU Coffee-Lake (mobiles et de bureau). Similaire à l'ancien HD Graphics 630 trouvé dans les CPU Kaby-Lake.

 

Ces cartes graphiques de milieu de gamme peuvent faire tourner tout les jeux récents de façon fluide. Les jeux gourmands ne peuvent être joués qu'avec les détails réglés sur moyen.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Mobile:

Carte graphique dédiée de milieu de gamme pour ordinateurs portables qui utilise une puce TU117 de Turing sans raytracing et des noyaux Tensor. Elle devrait être légèrement plus rapide qu'une GTX 1650, mais est également disponible en différentes variantes avec un TGP allant de 55 à 80 watts (et deux packs).

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q: Carte graphique dédiée de milieu de gamme pour ordinateurs portables qui utilise une puce TU117 de Turing sans raytracing et des noyaux Tensor. Fonctionne à une vitesse d'horloge réduite par rapport à un ordinateur portable GTX 1650 Ti pour une consommation d'énergie beaucoup plus faible (35 contre 50 - 80 Watt).

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU:

Carte graphique pour ordinateur portable de jeu de milieu de gamme basée sur la puce Ampere GA107.

NVIDIA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU:

Intel A370M: L'Intel Arc A370M est une carte graphique mobile dédiée d'entrée de gamme basée sur la microarchitecture Xe HPG. Elle offre 8 cœurs (128 ALU), 8 unités de ray tracing et un cœur de base de 1550 MHz. Le TGP est spécifié entre 35 et 50 Watt.

 

Ces cartes graphiques devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux récents (avec quelques exceptions) en haute résolution avec un bon niveau de détail.

Intel Comet Lake:

i5-10300H:

Sur l'architecture Comet Lake (4ème génération de Skylake) basée sur un processeur pour ordinateurs portables lourds et volumineux. Intègre quatre cœurs de processeur cadencés à 2,5 - 4,5 GHz (4,2 GHz avec 4 cœurs) qui prennent en charge l'HyperThreading. 

i7-10875H:

Sur l'architecture Coffee Lake, processeur pour ordinateurs portables gros et lourds. Il intègre huit cœurs de processeur cadencés entre 2,3 et 5,1 GHz (tous les 8 cœurs jusqu'à 4,3 GHz) qui prennent en charge l'HyperThreading. Fabriqué selon un procédé amélioré de 14 nm (14nm++).

i7-10750H:

Un processeur hexa-core haute performance conçu pour les ordinateurs portables plus épais avec de la place pour de meilleurs thermiques. Le processeur Comet Lake-H est fabriqué sur le processus Intel de troisième génération en 14 nm et dispose de l'iGPU UHD Graphics 630 cadencé de 350 MHz à 1 150 MHz. Les cœurs du processeur tournent à 2,6 GHz (vitesse d'horloge de base), avec un Boost jusqu'à 5 GHz, et la fréquence Boost probable de tous les cœurs est de 4,3 GHz. Le support Hyper-Threading est activé, permettant à deux threads de fonctionner simultanément sur chaque cœur.

i9-10885H:

Processeur basé sur l'architecture Coffee Lake pour les ordinateurs portables lourds et volumineux. Intègre huit cœurs de processeur cadencés à 2,4 - 5,3 GHz qui prennent en charge HyperThreading. SoC octa-core haut de gamme basé sur Tiger Lake (série H45) pour les ordinateurs portables de jeu et les stations de travail. Les huit cœurs de l'unité centrale fonctionnent entre 2,3 GHz et 4,6 GHz. Le GPU graphique UHD intégré offre 32 UE jusqu'à 1,45 GHz. La puce est fabriquée sur le processus Intel SuperFin de 10 nm de deuxième génération.

i9-11900H:

SoC octa-core haut de gamme basé sur Tiger Lake (série H45) pour les ordinateurs portables de jeu et les stations de travail. Les huit cœurs du processeur tournent entre 2,5 et 4,9 GHz. Intel Alder Lake-P:

Un processeur mobile basé sur Alder-Lake avec 6 cœurs de performance et 8 cœurs efficaces. Les cœurs de performance offrent un hyper threading, ce qui permet de traiter 20 threads. Le processeur fonctionne à des fréquences allant de 1,8 à 5 GHz et prend en charge vPro.

Intel Raptor Lake-H:

i7-13700H: CPU mobile basé sur Alder Lake avec 6 cœurs de performance et 8 cœurs efficaces. Les cœurs de performance offrent l'hyper threading, ce qui permet de traiter 20 threads. L'horloge du processeur peut atteindre 5 GHz. Par rapport à l'i9-13900HK, il n'y a pas d'overclocking facile, mais un ensemble complet de fonctions de gestion vPro.
