Nous avons un aperçu de ce que la prochaine génération de graphiques intégrés d'Intel peut faire et c'est assez bon pour une solution non discrète de 10 nm. Nous avons récemment eu l'occasion d'évaluer le GPU intégré Intel Xe G7 qui sera lancé avec la série de processeurs Tiger Lake-U de 11e génération. Bien que notre unité de test soit un kit de développement Intel avec des pilotes préliminaires qui ne sont peut-être pas des représentations parfaites des modèles de détail, les données devraient quand même nous donner une idée de ce à quoi nous pouvons nous attendre, d'autant plus que les ordinateurs portables Tiger Lake de détail doivent être lancés dès le mois d'octobre prochain.

Nos graphiques ci-dessous comparent l'Intel Xe G7 intégré au Ryzen 7 4800U Radeon RX Vega 8 et à plusieurs autres ordinateurs portables équipés de l'Ice Lake Iris Plus G7, GeForce MX150, MX250 ou MX350. En moyenne, les utilisateurs peuvent s'attendre à ce que le nouveau GPU Intel échange des coups contre les GeForce MX250 et Radeon RX Vega 8 comme on le trouve sur les derniers CPU Ryzen de la série U lors de l'exécution de jeux du monde réel. Les résultats sont à la fois impressionnants et décevants ; impressionnants parce qu'Intel peut offrir des performances similaires avec un processus de fabrication plus important à 10 nm et décevants parce qu'il leur a fallu plus de six mois pour être sur un pied d'égalité avec le Zen 2 U-series à 7 nm.

La bonne nouvelle, c'est que les ordinateurs portables de la 11e génération Tiger Lake seront lancés par douzaines pour être faciles à trouver pour les acheteurs intéressés, alors que la sélection des alternatives alimentées par AMD continue d'être maigre. Grâce à des solutions intégrées offrant des graphismes de type GeForce MX, des jeux populaires comme Rocket League, DOTA 2, Overwatch et même GTA V seront plus que jouables sur la prochaine génération d'Ultrabooks.
