Certes, le Galaxy A37 n'est pas un mauvais smartphone. Ses performances sont suffisantes dans bien des cas et son écran OLED affiche de belles images, lumineuses quand c'est nécessaire. De plus, son équipement photo s'avère efficace en plein jour, et même de nuit (pour l'objectif grand-angle). Et si le smartphone n'est pas hyper endurant, sa batterie lui permet de fonctionner une grosse journée, voire deux jours, si on l'utilise avec parcimonie (et elle se recharge rapidement). Le problème principal, pour Samsung, outre l'absence de grosse innovation par rapport au Galaxy A36, réside dans un fait crucial : ses concurrents ! Car ils ne s'endorment pas sur leurs lauriers, eux. Ceux que nous avons cités au début de ce test ont des points forts indéniables : énorme batterie, téléobjectif, processeur plus puissant, fonctions logicielles originales, etc. De quoi faire hésiter les afficionados de la marque coréenne.

Comme son grand-frère le Galaxy A57, le Galaxy A37 subit malheureusement une hausse de prix à cause de la pénurie de composants qui oblige les fabricants à revoir leur stratégie. Toujours séduisant malgré tout, ce A37 sort du lot grâce à une batterie redoutable, qui a tenu bon durant presque 15h sur le test d’autonomie du Labo Fnac. Très performant, capable de vous offrir une navigation fluide en toute circonstance, le Samsung Galaxy A37 ne demande des efforts et des concessions qu’en jeu vidéo, où les réglages ne pourront être poussés au maximum. Moins bon que le A57 en photo, il fait toutefois le travail grâce à un capteur grand-angle principal performant. Son écran, enfin, est lumineux et très bien contrasté. On ne dirait pas non à une résolution un tout petit peu plus élevée, cependant, afin de se hisser à la hauteur de la concurrence de Xiaomi, notamment.

Samsung signe ici une bonne cuvée 2026 de son Galaxy A37. Certes, le design n’est pas révolutionné, mais la conception est sérieuse : nous avons même droit à un dos et une façade en verre Gorilla Glass Victus+, en plus de la certification IP68. Nous sommes dans la continuité de son prédécesseur, et cela se ressent aussi dans les performances, suffisantes sans nous impressionner. Les gamers compétitifs seront les premiers déçus ; les autres s’en satisferont. Côté photo, nous obtenons des résultats de bonne tenue, mais sans maestria. L’ultra grand-angle est très moyen, et nous regrettons l’absence d’un zoom optique, remplacé par un capteur macro peu utile au quotidien. Enfin, l’autonomie est honnête, sans atteindre des sommets. Nous avons donc un produit de milieu de gamme… très milieu de gamme même, sauf sur le plan logiciel, avec One UI 8.5 riche en fonctions IA. Toutefois, la hausse de 50 euros réduit son rapport qualité-prix sur un marché très concurrentiel. Malgré tout, pour ceux qui recherchent un smartphone « rassurant », à offrir à un proche peu technophile, il reste un choix idéal.

Prise en Main des nouveaux Samsung Galaxy A57 5G et A37 5G, l’IA pour le milieu de gamme

Sans surprise, les nouveaux Samsung Galaxy A57 5G et A37 5G jouent la continuité et les innovations ne se voient pas forcément tout de suite. Le design évolue peu mais on retrouve un finition digne de Samsung. OneUI 8.5 est toujours aussi agréable et Galaxy AI revient avec encore plus de fonctions. L’IA est encore nouveau et si on a pu voir l’apport et l’utilité de l’IA dans la vie de tous les jours, tout le monde est loin d’en être équipé. Samsung compte bien sur ces modèles plus accessibles pour permettre à l’IA de prendre son envol dans le grand public. Bien évidemment, on attendra de tester ces nouveaux smartphones avant de se prononcer mais on reste serein quand aux promesses de Samsung.

For my money, I still prefer the Pixel 10a when it comes to mid-range Android phones. But the Galaxy A37 isn't far behind and it comes with some nice bonuses you won't get from Google's handset. For people who prefer larger devices, Samsung's 6.7-inch OLED panel gives you more room to work (or play) with. And despite actually having a slightly smaller battery, the A37 offers just a bit more longevity, plus faster wired charging when you need to top it off before running out the door. On the other hand, the Pixel 10a has a more premium design (including a perfectly flat back), better image quality and a nicer UI with a wider range of AI-powered software. But it also costs $499 instead of $450. So while it wouldn't be my first choice, Galaxy A37 is certainly worth checking out for anyone that's been feeling beat up by rising costs and is simply looking for an affordable, well-made all-rounder.

So then we reach to the end. Should you buy the Samsung Galaxy A37? Let’s ignore all the official launch and promotional pricing and we’ll take a look at the retail market. From what I can find out, Samsung themselves are already discounting the A37 down to around RM1,400, but that’s for the 8GB RAM variant. The 12GB variant is around RM1,600. You can basically save around RM200 for 4GB less RAM. It won’t affect the gaming performance since they’re all LPDDR5X RAM speed, but multitasking will be a bit more… rough. Looking at the big picture, the Galaxy A37, at the price of around RM1,600 is actually right in line with the realme 16 Pro and undercuts the vivo V70 FE that we’ve reviewed a few weeks ago. The A37 is a competitive alternative to those two phones – and I’d say the cameras on the A37 is actually better than those two phones, and One UI just seals the deal for me.

However, at $449 for the 128GB variant, it sits too close to Samsung’s Fan Edition lineup. The Galaxy S25 FE costs about $100 more when it's on discount (which is often) and offers double the storage, while the 128GB version can be had for just $480. The Galaxy S24 FE is often available for around $490 with 256GB storage. With those FE models, you get significantly better performance, more versatile cameras including a dedicated 3x telephoto lens, and access to advanced AI features. We would advise you to wait for a couple of months so that the Galaxy A37 can be had for at least $50 less.

Not to mention the fact that Samsung has added a lot of new AI features that you would otherwise only be able to get on the Galaxy S26 series. The fact that Samsung has increased the price still stings, especially since it seems to be affecting the American market more than the U.K. For the extra money, you'd hope Samsung would offer a little bit more of a substantial upgrade, but that isn't the case, especially not for the Galaxy A57.

Both the A37 and A57 will inevitably sell like hot cakes, despite not much changing this year, and that’s okay. We really liked the A56 last year and this year’s phones are slightly better. And software support remains excellent, with six years of security updates and six generations of OS updates baked in. The only problem these phones have, really, is that the competition is that bit stronger, with the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, in particular, offering a more interesting look and including an optical telephoto camera in the mix for less money.
