Il faudra néanmoins accepter un ticket d’entrée particulièrement élevé pour des performances qui restent, elles, en deçà de certaines alternatives bien moins onéreuses. Le MacBook Pro M5 Pro offre des performances bien supérieures pour une centaine d'euros en plus, tandis que le MacBook Air — également disponible au format 15 pouces — tient également tête à la machine de Samsung, même sans écran tactile ou dalle Oled.

L'intégration audacieuse de l'architecture Intel Panther Lake (Core Ultra de série 3) efface l'un des plus vieux complexes de l'industrie PC : allier une puissance importante à une autonomie très solide dans un châssis très fin. L'écran Dynamic AMOLED 2X est tout simplement magnifique et s'intègre parfaitement dans une machine aux finitions soignées. Les corrections ergonomiques, notamment le recentrage du clavier et l'intégration du trackpad haptique géant, sont très appréciables au quotidien. On salue également la montée en puissance de l'iGPU Intel Arc, qui transforme ce bourreau de travail en une console de jeu d'appoint étonnamment capable.

So, coming back to the question I asked right at the beginning of this review: do we really need a premium laptop with hardware this powerful? After spending a considerable amount of time with the Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, my answer is very simple: yes, we absolutely do. This laptop is simply for anyone who wants everything in one machine. It looks premium, feels premium, has one of the best displays I have used on a laptop, sounds fantastic, performs brilliantly, games surprisingly well, and still manages to deliver genuinely good battery life. The Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Ultra is a fantastic pro-grade Windows laptop with immense battery life, a lovely OLED screen and a hefty industrial feel, complete with a snappy keyboard, huge trackpad and solid port selection. I am left a little underwhelmed by its performance, though, not least with the very hefty price tag that’s attached to this laptop. For similar money, you can get a very tricked-out Apple MacBook Pro that’s likely to have a faster processor (although it may skimp out on graphical power) or the Asus ProArt P16 (4K Lumina Pro OLED) that has more graphical grunt and a richer, more detailed tandem OLED panel, although at the expense of half the battery life.

I've been a fan of Samsung's laptops for years, starting with a 12-inch model we owned in the early 2010's. The Galaxy Book 6 Pro is my favorite of the two models I've been swapping between, partly because Panther Lake is so good that I never once thought I needed the Nvidia dGPU in the Book 6 Ultra.

The Galaxy Book6 Ultra is one incredible laptop. The starting price is high, but whereas others might start lower, they quickly get expensive when you add the type of options that the Ultra includes. The Pro variant also starts at a far more palatable price and if you find the Ultra is reaching heights you can’t reach then that really is the Book6 for you. I guess weight is also a consideration if you are travelling a lot. And of course there is no 14in variant. But if money is really no object and you don’t mind the weight of this 16 incher, then you won’t be disappointed in any way with what the Ultra can offer you. It’s one of the best do-anything laptops we’ve ever seen and it’ll set you in good stead for the future.

The Galaxy Book 6 Pro and Ultra feel like solid refinements rather than flashy reinventions. The biggest wins for me are the improved audio, excellent haptics that finally rival premium competitors, the brighter display, and better cooling. The trade-offs are clear, too. There’s still no right-side USB-C, which remains mildly annoying, and the numpad removal will split opinions.

Samsung: Le groupe Samsung est le plus grand conglomérat sud-coréen et a été fondé en 1938. Le groupe Samsung employait 489 000 personnes en 2014 et est l'une des plus grandes entreprises au monde en termes de chiffre d'affaires et de force de marché. Le nom Samsung signifie "Trois étoiles" en coréen et représente les trois fils du fondateur de l'entreprise. L'entreprise a été fondée en 1938 en tant qu'épicerie. Avec sa filiale Samsung Electronics, fondée en 1969, Samsung s'est lancé très tôt dans la production d'articles électrotechniques, en se concentrant sur l'électronique grand public et l'électroménager. Les autres branches dans lesquelles la grande entreprise est active comprennent la construction mécanique, l'automobile (Hyundai), l'assurance, le commerce de gros, l'immobilier et les loisirs. Ces cartes graphiques de milieu de gamme peuvent faire tourner tout les jeux récents de façon fluide. Les jeux gourmands ne peuvent être joués qu'avec les détails réglés sur moyen.

Intel Arc B390 Panther Lake iGPU: IGPU le plus puissant de la série de SoC Intel Panther Lake avec 12 cœurs Xe3.

Ces cartes graphiques devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux récents (avec quelques exceptions) en haute résolution avec un bon niveau de détail.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop: Une prochaine carte graphique de la famille Blackwell pour ordinateurs portables, que la Team Green présentera très probablement au CES 2025. Si l'on considère que l'ordinateur portable 4070 possède 4 608 shaders unifiés (cœurs CUDA), la 5070 aura très probablement plus de 5 000 shaders.
