AMD ou Intel ? AMD a récemment intensifié sa concurrence avec Intel, si bien que les portables Ryzen sont arrivés plus nombreux sur le marché. Lenovo propose maintenant des versions Intel et AMD de sa série ThinkPad X39 de 13,3 pouces, la version AMD étant celle que nous allons tester aujourd’hui. Le ThinkPad X390 nous avait impressionnés dans notre test récent, si bien qu’il est intéressant de voir comment se comporte le X395 AMD. Le temps de réponse d'un écran mesure la rapidité à laquelle l'écran est capable de changer une couleur pour une autre. Un temps de réponse élevé se traduit par une image floutée pour les objets en mouvement. Les joueurs bénéficieront de faibles latences d'affichage en jeu.

Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion)

Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Si la fréquence est trop basse, certaines personnes peuvent être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire, des maux de tête ou même percevoir les variations.

En comparaison, 51 % des appareils testés n'emploient pas MDI pour assombrir leur écran. Nous avons relevé une moyenne à 9266 (minimum : 43 - maximum : 142900) Hz dans le cas où une MDI était active.

Le ThinkPad X390 et son processeur Intel avaient obtenus une note de 90 % en avril, soit 1 % de plus que le ThinkPad X395. Cela ne signifie cependant pas qu’il est meilleur, puisque nous sommes passés à une nouvelle grille de notation depuis avril. Les ThinkPad X390 et X395 sont à peu près aussi bons l’un que l’autre, mais ils ont tous les deux leurs défauts.

Les deux appareils ont tous deux les mêmes excellents périphériques d’entrée et écrans, ainsi que le même emplacement étrange du lecteur de carte micro SD. Lenovo a équipé les deux appareils avec de la RAM soudée et une grille de ventilateur sur le côté droit du châssis, celle-ci évacuant l’air chaud en plein sur la main avec la souris pour les droitiers.

Cependant, le X395 possède plus de fonctionnalités de sécurité que le X390, sa carte graphique est plus performante, et il consomme moins en cas de sollicitations. De ce fait, le X395 devance très légèrement le X390 quand on les compare directement.

Cela dit, si le X395 possède de meilleures performances graphiques que le X390, le throttling de son processeur est plus conséquent en cas de sollicitations soutenues. Lenovo semble avoir fait cela pour que le X395 reste silencieux, frais et économe, au prix des performances du processeur. À noter, le X395 n’a pas non plus de port Thunderbolt 3, qui est actuellement une interface propriétaire d’Intel, mais son HDMI est au standard 2.0 et non à l’ancien standard 1.4.

Le Lenovo ThinkPad X395 est un excellent (ultra)portable de bureau, qui n’a révélé que quelques faiblesses durant nos tests. La machine AMD est au moins aussi bonne que son alter-ego Intel, tout en étant moins bruyante, et en chauffant et consommant moins. Le X395 possède également de meilleures performances graphiques que le X390, ce qui est un plus indéniable.

Lenovo vend actuellement notre configuration de test pour environ 927 €, mais des revendeurs tiers peuvent vendre le X395 à un prix plus abordable. Nous pouvons recommander le X395 non seulement aux professionnels, mais également au grand public, pour ceux qui recherchent un solide ultraportable de 13,3 pouces.
